How can I save my interface preference in InDesign CC?

I'm working in InDesign CC and I prefer to have my interface set at "Light" instead of the new dark interface that is the default. I made sure no documents were open, went to Edit/Preferences/Interface and selected my choice. But whenever I start InDesign (say, each morning when I get to work), I has gone back to default dark interface. It saves my other preference changes and other changes to the workspace, but not the choice of interface. Everyone at my office prefers the light interface so we're wondering if there's a way to make InDesign save this preference. Thanks!

The other preferences I changed seem to have saved just fine. I don't change a ton of stuff...just the units and now the interface.

  • How can I save my bin preferences so that the clip order isn't scattered in icon view every time I open it?

I've attempted to contact Adobe privately about this to no avail. They just sent me an email to let me know "we believe your issue is resolved and have therefore closed your case" but it isn't resolved. I want to open my bin and see my clips sorted in the order they are named without needing to reset the order preferences each and every time. I'm confident I could shave hours off of my edits with this as a saveable preference. Anyone have any work arounds?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ If you’re running Mac OS X 10.7 or later, open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the page that opens.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Try the action again. Post any messages that appear in the Console window – the text, please, not a screenshot.

  • How can I keep the interface/pasteboard for InDesign CC from resetting?

At work we just got Creative Cloud, and I don't like how the pasteboard in ID is automatically dark grey. I figured out where to uncheck "Match Pasteboard to Theme Color" which makes it go back to white, but when I shut down and restart ID, it goes right back to having that checked so it is grey again. Is there anyway to make my selection permanent? I dont understand why it checks itself back to that every time. It would be nice to not have to reset this every day.

I found this one from FvdGeest:
make a script with this line
    app.generalPreferences.uiBrightnessPreference=1.0;
    Colours vary from 0.0 tot 1.0, Dark UI = 0.0, light grey = 1.0.  0.33 = medium dark and 0.67 medium light.
For the pasteboard use this script:
    app.generalPreferences.pasteboardColorPreference=0;
    save it as a    .jsx
Make sure you put them in the
    Adobe InDesign CC/Scripts/Startup scripts/

How can I change my safari preferences to save a file rather than it downloading

    danieladorotiak wrote:
When I click on the 'save application file, it download's it and doesn't give me the option to save it.
I can't be sure, but what probably happens is that the page doesn't give you a link to a downloadable file, but a button which activates a script. There's nothing you can do about that, because you don't control the script.
it just downloads the transcripts not the document.
It sounds like the downloaded file does not open or execute as it's supposed to (which, for instance, would happen if what you downloaded was a Java application, but you didn't have Java installed).
If you are allowed to, give us the URL and we'll have a look. Also, you should add what version of Mac OS X and of Safari you are using, and you should correct your profile (which says "Mac Pro" -- this forum is for the MacBook Pro, which is a different computer from the Mac Pro).

  • How can I save a jepg file in lower case letters? I check the use lower case box in preferences but it's not happening. PSCC

Let's try a preferences reset: (Windows)
Press and hold Control - Shift - Alt immediately upon cold-starting Photoshop.  If you get the keys down quickly enough - and you have to be VERY quick - it will prompt you to confirm deletion of your established preferences, which will lead to them all being set to defaults.

  • How can I save my preferences?

I am preparing to install a new hard drive in my computer and I don't want to lose all of my preferences.  How can I save these to reload after the install?
I am using Adobe CS4 Extended v. 11.0.2 on a WIN XP Pro sp3 machine.
Also, will my preferences carry over to Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium?
    Thanks!
    Susan
P.S. My current hard drive has sufferend two crashes already so I'm hoping to get the hard drive switched over as soon as it arrives (next day or 2).  Thanks!

Thanks Curt, but I'm still confused by one statement in the article from the link you posted above.  The author states, "You can do this by making a new action set (folder) within PS, then drag your favorite actions into it from other sets, then save your favorites set in a safe place."
I have created a "favorite actions" folder with my most used and self-created action sets in it.  But how do I save that favorite set?
I have been able to find the other items as well, so thanks for the link...AND the tip about deactivating my products before pulling the drive.  (That's a step I'm certain my IT staff would have overlooked!)

  • How can I save a DVD I have to my desktop?

How can I save a DVD that I have previously bought, recorded or burned from TV onto my MacBook Air?

    1) How can I simply drag photos from albums onto my desktop?
select the photo and drag it to the desktop  --  or export it to the desktop (file menu ==> export)
2)does anybody know how to change the email setting for "from"?  When I attempt to share a photo and email it to someone, I cant because I have no idea of the information in my "from" box.  Therefore I dont have the password to send it.  How can I change that setting?
to change account information iPhoto preferences ==> accounts  --  or better yet IMHO just set the e-mial client to Apple Mail rather than the default iPhoto and send using mail
In the lower right hand corner grab the corner of the window and drag it to the size you want

    3) how do I minimize my iphoto screen so I can see other pages on my desktop simultaneously?

  • How can I save passwords for URL's

How can I save passwords for URL's? I just installed 10.6.7 Snow Leopard. I also had to format my HD drive and reinstall my software.

    Hi,
From the Safari menu bar click Safari / Preferences then select the Autofill tab. Select the box next to:
    User names and passwords.
Navigate to a site you normally log into with the user name and password. Click Yes when prompted. That will save that information to a new keychain for you.
Passwords are actually stored in your Keychain Access application. (Applications/Utilities)

  • How can I save zoom setting for a DOCUMENT so it opens at that setting?

I find an optimal zoom setting for a document I'd like to use (say 42%) and want the document to open at that setting.  I save the document with File>Save Copy.  However when I open the document, it opens at the DEFAULT zoom setting set in the Preferences for program.  If I change the zoom level here to what I desire for that document, obviously all documents will open at that default setting.
How can I save my desired zoom level for a document, which will most likely be different for EACH document, and have the saved document open at that setting?
This seems like a trivial exercise / feature that should be easy to implement BOTH by the programmers of the software and the user setting the zoom level.
Also, I want to suppress the bookmarks sidebar.  I save without the bookmarks but the documents opens with the side bar.  Can't THIS be set for each document?
Why is it so difficult to tailor the viewing of a document to exactly what the viewer wants?

OK.  Sorry for the mistake in posting the question here.
Again it seems like it should be trivial to save a document in the Reader with a viewer's desired zoom setting.  I find this very helpful as I like to use a zoom setting that when scrolling down the document only one full page of the document is viewed (like turning the pages of a book).  Without this feature, partial pages are displayed when scrolling unless one experiments to find the correct zoom setting (often it is 60%).  One must do this every time one opens the same document, unless one remembers the zoom setting.
    Oh well ....

  • I purchased an iPhone 3 and had photos on it. Started having issues within 30 days and could replace it. Moved photos to back up on iCloud. did not restore new phone from back up how can i save the new photos and retrieve the old ones?

I purchased an iPhone 3 and had taken some photos on it. I started having issues within 30 days and could replace it. So I created an iCloud account and  saved those photos as a back up on iCloud. I did not restore my new phone from back up because I did not realize I needed to restore and not just activitate it. How can I save the new photos, apps, and other stuff but retrieve the old photos?

If all you want is your old photos, you could backup your new phone using iTunes, then restore it from your iCloud backup, import the old photos to your computer, then restore it from the backup your made in iTunes returning your newer data to your phone.  If you want your old photos on your phone, sync them there from your computer using iTunes.  The process would look like this:
Connect your phone to your computer, when it appears in iTunes on the left sidebar right-click on it and select Transfer Purchases; right-click again and select Backup.
Disconnect from your computer and go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings to return it to new
Go through the activation setup, choosing to Restore from iCloud backup.  Make sure your phone is plugged into a charger and has access to wi-fi as this can take hours to complete.
When complete, without connecting your phone to your computer, open iTunes and go to Preferences.  On the Devices tab check "Prevent...from syncing automatically"
Now import the old photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083)
When done, open iTunes, right-click on the name of your phone on the left sidebar and select Restore from Backup, choose the backup you made in step 1.
Go to the Photos tab and select the photos you want to sync to your phone and sync.

  • How can I save my downloaded OnOne Presets in Lightroom 4 for use in all of my catalogues?

Downloaded and imported these presets into Lightroom, User PRESETS but they ONLY WORK with ONE catalogue (the one I downloaded them into). How can I save them so that I can continually use them in ALL of my catalogues (future and past)? This is driving me crazy (had the same problem with LR3). Read all the manuals I could find and online help but there was nothing about this.
P.S. Also have a similar problem when trying to save my "edited watermarks". Have to repeat this every time I export my photos.

In Preferences/Presets/ Uncheck Store Presets with catalog.

  • How can I save a cookie?

I play some long internet flash games and sometimes I am running so many programs that it crashes Firefox. When it restarts I have lost all of my game data and I have to start all over. From what I understand all Firefox cookies are stored in one document. I have Windows Vista and cannot find that document. The game cookie might be a flash cookie.
I can see all of my individual cookies in firefox->options->options->privacy->remove individual cookies but it does not show its location and does not allow me to modify it.
Is there a way I can protect my cookies from a Firefox crash?
Is there a way to protect a cookie so that when I perform a "clear history" the cookie is not deleted?
Is there a way that I can modify a cookie (so I can get more in game money and stuff)?
How can I save a cookie? As in copy it, save it in a separate folder and paste it back in if the cookie is deleted?
    Thank you.

Let all cookies expire when you close Firefox.
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Keep until: I close Firefox
Create a cookie 'allow' exception for cookies that you would like to keep.
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions
In case you are using "Clear history when Firefox closes":
    *do not clear the Cookies
*do not clear the Site Preferences
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Clear+Recent+History
Note that clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
Clearing cookies will remove all specified (selected) cookies including cookies with an allow exception that you would like to keep.

    Hi Barb,
To investigate this we would have to look at the error logs -
Start your download and once it gets completed please send us the Log.txt file from the locations listed.
    WIN : C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\com.adobe.px.Downloader.<some-num ber>\Local Store\
    MAC : /users/<username>/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.px.Downloader.<some-n umber>/Local Store/
You can email me the log.txt file at [email protected]

how can i save menu in db?

If you're using Forms 9i you can't. In 6i or earlier you simply have to create the Forms Tables (all the scripts are supplied) and set the preference to save to the database in the Builder.Note that you still need a mmx on the filesystem at runtime.
