How can I save my progress of the games

Some games like Tetris you pass levels but every time I have to un-frees and re-start all the games start over. I hate this!!
Is there a way to save the progress?????

Really I don't know who to thank directly. Everyone who has responded I guess. All the input I have received from this group has given me pieces of the puzzle.
I think at one point I did a Migration Assistant and selected applications and files from my Snow Leopard iMac to my external bootable HD with Yosemite.
Then I booted with Yosemite (which shows up on my Snow Leopard desktop) and went to Users (I think) and selected my old home folder and then pictures and then iPhoto Library. At that point I think I tried dragging the iPhoto library onto an open window in iPhoto (the latest version) and eventually chose to replace the library new library with my old iPhoto library. Somewhere along the way I got a message saying the updated library would no longer be accessible with older versions of iPhoto. But I got brave and opted to use my iPhoto library in my old Pictures file.
I thought it was safe and it DID work and yes all the info seems to be there.
However when I restarted using my iMac with my old Hard drive selected (running Snow Leopard), then tried to open iPhoto it told me I needed a new version of iPhoto now to open this library. I went crazy for a while, but finally managed to use Time Machine to restore an older version of iPhoto library, and now iPhoto is back to working on Snow Leopard using iPhoto 9.
I am afraid to open the external Yosemite HD now, for fear I will mess up my iMac.
A little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
I think I will wait until I've bought a new iMac with Yosemite installed to experiment any more. But at least I know it is possible to bring my old iPhoto library over to Yosemite without losing my keywords and Smart Folders. Yea!!!

I use HandBrake to rip DVD's into iTunes. How can I save multiple titles under the same DVD? For instance, I have a Jimi Hendrix documentary that comes with special features, such as concert performances. I would like to have the main feature and the special features saved in my iTunes under the same title, perhaps as different 'tracks' (kind of like how different songs can be saved under the same album).
Is there a way for me to do this, or am I chasing phantoms?

Duplicate the photo first. (Photos -> Duplicate). This means that you will have multiple copies of the master as well as the edited version.
If you use versions like this often and wish to have only one master then you can do this with Aperture.

Thanks Alex, but sadly I already tried that. Neither .docx or .xlsx files show up in the content list. They both show as a Chrome HTML document so changing how Firefox addresses those doesn't help since it thinks its the same type of file. I don't think I can manually add files into the "Content Type" left side nav.

I use a translation stage for the experiment.For each user in the lab the stage position (to start an experiment) is different.I defined one end of the stage as zero. I want to save the position , date and time of the stage with respect to zero.I want all these in one file, nd everytime I run it it should save to the same file, like this:

I know the function "write to spreadsheet file.vi"
can append the data
to file. You can use the "concatenate strings" to display the date,
time as well as data... Hope this help.

I am writing a Java Web Start program that it will generate a html file, how can I save the generated file in the server, fro example, the directory where I stored my JAR files. 3. Clicking on the downloaded file
What I would like to know is whether or not it is possible to have Firefox open a saved file ''automatically''. At the moment, if I choose to open it automatically, it is only saved to my temp folder.
It would be great though if it was saved to my Downloads folder ''and'' opened with the respective program on my pc. Is there a way to do this?

i need some help. I'm working on a project for students an th university. We have to devellop a programm for LEDs measurement so that all the measure data must be save in de same file. We have develloped the programm, but we have a big problem to save the measure in the same File.
When we do the first measure , the file must be created and the fisrt data gonna be save in this file that is correct
When wie do the second measure, the third .... measure, the programm ask us to comfirm the file or where we want save our data
We need some help, to know how we can change or devellop this programm so that, for the first measure , the file must be created and the fisrt data gonna be save in this file, the second measure the same file must be chose and from the third and more the measure data must be automatically save in this file without the programm ask to chose or to confirme a file?

How can I save multiple links using the "save link as" function?

Actually you can save multiple page pdf's in elements.
Try something like this:
(This is easier if you have the project bin open)
1. Select the first page
2. Right click on that page in the project bin and choose Add Blank Page or as many pages as you need.
3. Use the move tool and drag your pages down into the blank pages in the project bin
4 Then File>Save As>Acrobat.PDF

Often, I'd like to download a file, save it to my Downlaods folder and have it opened right away.
Currently, you can only decide between the two options "open" or "save to...". There's seemlingly no way Firefox can do both at once.
I know I can download it, open the downloads manager and open it manually. But when working with over a dozen documents a day, that doesn't quite do the trick.
In Chrome, you only have to click twice: Once for downloading and once for opening it from the download bar on the bottom of the screen. You do not have to open a download manager.

How can I save my vis in the old format

I'm using Labview 9, but would like the be able to save my files in the old 8.5 format so if I need to open them on a machine that only has 8.5 that I can open them. Is there a way to do this?

How can I save/write data on the hard disc of the Real-Time System?

I would like to acquire huge size of data via LabView Real-Time System.
Since data is so huge, I am now thinking that it might be good idea to
write/save data on the hard disc of the Real-Time System first and then
transfer the data file to a data processing PC using FTP etc.
If you know how to save/write data on the hard disc of the Real-Time System
(Ver. 7.1), please let me know.

Just to add to Aitortxo's good answer,
Since you have only one Drive ( C:\) on your RT, just keep monitering the availible disc space.
After every few set of file writes keep transferring Backups delete these files, so that you keep C:\ drive space for running your applications.

How can I save edited photos to the photostream?

When I edit a picture in iPhoto, the photostream in the app shows the edited photo...however it does not truly sync to the photosstream as the photos app on both the iPad and the iPhone show the old picture...any thoughts?

If you are trying to create a shared stream and don't want to add any subscribers other than yourself, open the Photos app, open the camera roll, tap Select, tap the photos you want to add, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), tap "iCloud" tap "Stream", tap "New Shared Stream", enter a name for the stream, tap Next, then tap Next again without entering an email address, then tap Post. In other words, you don't have to enter an email address if you aren't inviting anyone else to subscribe to the stream. As mentioned, you can't view them on iCloud.com. You can view the from an iOS device (such as an iPod Touch) by going to the Photos app and looking in the Shared section. You can view them on your PC by setting up iCloud on it (see https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/pc.html), checking Photos on the iCloud control panel, clicking Options next to Photos, and making sure you check both My Photo Stream and Photo Sharing (also note the iCloud photo location beneath this as that is where you will find the photos).

How can I save a layer including the blended multiply effect, separate from background ?

there might be a simple answer to this, but i can't find one anywhere!
i have a very simple PSD, so i'll try to explain this super simply..
one transparent layer, with just a pair or eyebrows, with the only added blend effect as 'multiply'
one background with a face, no eyebrows.
the layer blends the eyebrows in to the background face perfectly.
i want to save the layer as a separate file keeping the tranparency and including the result of the multiply effect, without the background.
the reason why i want to do this may confuse things, but basically i want several different eyebrow colours to be interchangeable over this face in an application that doesn't recognise the blending link with the background, so i want to save it in PS !
any clues ?

Ok uploaded simple version here.
no copy merged didn't work, it saves the background image, it's odd I know, but i want to save the resultant layer including the blend effect of multiply transparently without any sign of the background required for said blend function. the two separate layers will then be used in an entirely different 3D scenario where the brows will need to 'appear' blended with the background.
hopefully i've made the images easy enough, i figure if it's hard to understand what i'm trying to do it's like Einstein said, i can't explain it simply enough
soo.. here's capture no. 1 showing eyebrow layer with 'multiply', the surrounding hair detail is very finicky after being drawn and needs to blend with different skin shades as per the sample background layer.
..and this is no 2, showing the blend multiply effect on the layer with no bg visible, i want this one but with the background multiply pixels, sans background !
and finally, the layer with normal and no 'multiply' along with the dark background..
..hope this helps explain my quandary, it's hard to explain why in detail, but the core problem is that i need to save the layer WITH the effect pixel result of the multiply blend withOUT the background
really thinking that PS doesn't have the ability to save these pixels in such a way, have found a work-around but this would truly save hours plus make a better finished product for the bizarred 3D application!

I have an issue for months. Every time I purchase an app game for my iphone and ipad I start playing with one but when I switch to the other, I have to re-do all progress again to be in the same point.
I would like to be playing in my iphone and later take my ipad for the same app game and be in the same point where I left playing with my iphone. This is very frustrating and no logical to buy both versions (when available separately) to play a game in the "mac" world.
Any hint how to solve this problem?

The camera does not exist on the original iPad so don't think you can find it. The iTunes icon may be on anther screen. Swipe from screen to screen and look for it.
If you have restrictions enabled on your iPad - Settings>General>Restrictions>On - see if you have iTunes restricted. If it is restricted, the icon disappears. Turn off restrictions.

How do I save my progress in my game if I delete app and reload them again on ipad?

I just got the ipad, but I was thinking of getting iPod touch instead because this ipad is too large for me to hold and take good pics. If I were to say, I want to take good pics and have music and apps all together. The ipad has a large display however when taking pictures it is large like my DSLR camera. I just want something convenient while sustaining or keeping my needs in mind.

Right now your photos are not saved in iCloud. if you are backing up your iPhone to iCloud, the contents of your camera roll will be saved in iCloud, but since you deleted the photos from your camera roll, they are not backed up in iCloud.
Currently, Apple does not support storing your photo libraries in iCloud. This feature will come with iOS 8 and next year ask for the new MacOS X Yosemite and the Photos.app, that is yet to come.
Back up your photos to an external drive, for the time being.
