How can I save to PDF version 1.3 in Acrobat X

I have tried the Save As > Reduce Size and it only goes back to version 1.6 using the Acrobat 4.0 selection. That is the earliest selection available through the menu.  Is there another way that I am not seeing?

The only 2 ways is using Reduce File Size and Optimize PDF, both available on the Save As menu.

  • How can I save a PDF file sent to me in an attachment to my iPhone 5s

How can I save a PDF file or word file sent to me as an attachment directly to my iPhone 5s so if I want to read it I don't have to dig into my ail every time?

You will need to select the attachment and open in another app.  If you do not have any apps that support PDF, Adobe reader for iOS is free.
For MS word files, you will need an app that supports those, like Documents to Go.
There is not generic file storage area in iOS, so you need to "open in" an app that supports that file type so that app can then add the file to its sandboxed local storage area.
If you need to markup the PDF, some good apps are GoodReader, iAnnotate, PDF Expert, GoodNotes - there are numerous others as well in the App Store.

How do I save a PDF file to my iPad without saving in iBooks?

You will still need an app to save it to. If you don't want to use iBooks then there are a number of other free (and paid for) apps such as Adobe Reader - GoodReader is a paid for option but it supports other file types as well.

  • How can I save a PDF from yahoo mail app in iphone5?

    Hi everybody!!!
I am asking what the title says...
I want to save a PDF doc from yahoo mail app in my iphone5! How can I do it?
I have ibooks and adobe reader but no luck....
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks a lot!

Tap and hold the attachment icon for 2-3 seconds. If this not work try to:
-Remove mail app (are you using the native Mail app?) from Multitasking Bar (double click the home button, then hold down an app until red minus symbol appears and tap on it to remove the Mail app).
-5Reset your iPhone (Hold down Power and Home button unti Apple logo appears. Then release and wait to reboot.
-Try again to save the PDF.

  • How can I save a PDF contact sheet? (for Windows)

I've searched everywhere but it seems that it's only possible to save a PDF contact sheet on a Mac through the print prompt.. is it not possible to do this somehow in the Windows version?

I don't know Mac, but on Windows, you have to own a PDF writer (usually a printer driver) which produces PDFs instead of hardcopy prints from any application. There is lots of freeware and buyable products around. The same applies to LR.

  • How can I save a pdf file on my ipad so I can view it later

I want to be able to view a pdf file on my ipad when I do not have access to internet but I can't seem to save it on my ipad

You need an app into which it can be saved. Download iBooks or Adobe Reader which are both free in the App Store, then you can save the PDF files into one of those apps. I prefer Adobe Reader because you can annotate, highlight, rename create folders, add your signature and do some other things that you cannot do with iBooks.
After you download one of those apps, tap the PDF file in order to open it, than tap on the screen somewhere in order to make the sayer icon appear in the upper right corner. Tap the share icon and then select Open In iBooks or Adobe Reader from the resulting pop up window. That will save the file to the app.

  • How can I save a pdf with custom made joboption?

Hi, I'm new here and my english is not perfect so please, don't make me regret I joined this forum
The thing is that I have to print pdfs to pdfs with certain .joboptions and I really have no idea how to that.
I tried to make it by distiller, it printed the error about the 'CheckCompliance out of range' error so I deleted the file and I set all of the options by myself just to realize that distiller won't work with .pdf files. I couldn't find all of the options I need in the Acrobat save menu.
So... is there any solution to print/save pdf to pdf with joboptions I need?
I hope the post is understandable
    Thanks in advance.

Try tapping the share arrow and then tapping Open in iBooks.

  • How can I save a PDF without specifying the directory?

When I try to save changes I made to a PDF (highlighting and/or commenting), I'm prompted to specify which directory I'd like to save to, and I have to verify that "yes, I want to overwrite the existing file that has the same name". I just want to save the changes I made to the file I made the changes in. Is there a setting I can change to skip all the hassle?
I'm using Adobe Reader XI and windows 8.1.
    Thank you,
    Ted

I don't think it is a good idea to put it in /usr/bin at all but if you must, isn't it safer to move it there, as Trilby suggested? And change the permissions appropriately? That doesn't strike me as especially wise but it seems better than symlinking to an executable in your home directory from /usr/bin.
One way to mitigate security threats is to limit the PATH root uses. So for an ordinary user, you might include /usr/local/bin or ~/bin. But for root, you wouldn't include these. This makes it a little bit harder to run something malicious as root inadvertently. If you start symlinking to executables in your home directory from /usr/bin, you defeat this. For example, I use this PATH for root:
    /usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin/vendor_perl:/usr/bin/core_perl
So root can't even run stuff under /usr/local on my machine without explicitly giving the path. But if I symlinked from /usr/bin to stuff under ~/, there would be no point in the restriction.
EDIT: but I just realised sudo can... damn!

  • How can I save a PDF and retain the high resolution of the images it contains?

I'm using the trial version of Acrobat XI. The images are 1440dpi but always save at 120dpi. The PDF is for the content of a picture book so I need to be able to save them at a minimum of 300dpi. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Have just discovered that although the properties for each of the photos states 1440dpi they vary from 696 to 2131 pixels on the height dimension of 10cm!
Thanks to your help in guiding me to the Preflight profiles, I've now at long last produced a file that does the job! Thank you!!!
I created my file in Word, saved it as a PDF (3.72MB), replaced the images with the original files (Word had made them tiny), then used the Digital Printing (Color) profile to Analyze & Fix the PDF, thus creating a PDF (98MB) that was suitable to upload. There is no doubt a more succinct and less Heath Robinson method but I wasn't able to find it!

  • How do I save a PDF as v1.4 in Acrobat Pro?

    Hello,
I am currently using the Adobe Acrobat X Pro. I am being sent documents that I must change to v1.4.
    So far I have been sent v1.3, v1.5, v1.6, v 1.7.
I MUST change the versions of the PDFs provided to v1.4 because I then send the documents to someone else who uses software that ONLY accepts v1.4 PDFs.
Please tell me how to do this in Adobe Acrobat X Pro. If it CANNOT be done in X Pro, what software do I need to do this?
One of the people sending me files has asked how do do this in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro also. Are the directions the same in both versions?
    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks George,
Just wanted to add that in Adobe X, select Save As > Optimized PDF > Make compatible with  gets you to a drop down list where you can choose the version of Acrobat you need. In this case Acrobat 5.0 and later.

  • Acrobat Reader X cant's save "old" PDF versions

I'm creating PDF documents in PDF Format 1.4 for compatibility reasons.
The published documents will be opened in Acrobat Reader. If the user is using Acrobat reader X and saves the document it will be stored in PDF Version 1.5.
These PDF 1.5 documents could not be managed in the following automated process steps.
    (That's why I'm creating PDF 1.4)
How can I keep the PDF version saving a document in Acrobat READER X.
    Regards
    J.B.

We know that Acrobat Pro or Standard can save version 1.4.
We have more than 30.000 computer installations worldwide.
This would be a good deal for adobe to install the acrobat product instead of the acrobat reader only for viewing pdf documents correctly ;-(((
For security reasons and new features we are forced to update the acrobat reader version
For compatibility reasons we should use old versions
