How can I scroll halfway down a page in safari immediately?

So-- Lion introduced this whole "there are no scroll bars" concept-- which I am trying to embrace, but I just found myself getting frustrated about it so I wanted to ask if there are any user tips to make it less annoying...
I was on this webpage in safari:

And I knew I wanted to go somewhere near the bottom of the document-- but there is no way to click on a scroll bar to get there... And I am on a trackpad, and I found that if I drag-scroll on the trackpad, a scroll bar does appear, but I only have a very short time window to click on it and drag it down. Several times I attempted to click on it, but it faded away before I could actually get it.
I thought to myself: This is really annoying... And stupid! But-- There must be a way to make this more functional, so I thought I'd ask here.

You've picked and interesting example.
Scrolling on that page does not behave as it should. The scroll bar should remain visible as long as your mouse is moving, it shoull also enlarge as you mouse over it so you can grab it more easily.
Compare it to this site or just about anyother website.

It seems to be the worst when my Verizon connection is only at 3G or my wifi strength is low. I'm not sure if it's an iPhone thing or a carrier issue?? Any ideas?

how can we scroll a list page wise rather than line wise using scroll button of mouse .
my requirement is to generate a list consisting of 38 lines per page and each set of 38 lines
should come in a new page that i have done using new-page, but problem is when i scroll
down a list using mouse scroll button next page should be displayed rather than scrolling
line by line . just like using pagedown key of the keyboard,

As a muscian reading digital sheets on Reader, being able to veiw as many as 3 to 5 pages at a time would be more helpful. Also, if it was possible to view any number of pages at time such as pages 1 and 2, 2 and 3, 3 and 4, or 5,6,7,and 8 instead of just 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 etc. my experience would be even better. thanks.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Hey guys, quick one for you.
I have no problem using the hand tool/spacebar to scroll around an image when zoomed into it, but as soon as I can see the whole thing I can't scroll around anymore and its just locked to the center
I am a After Effects user so I find this a bit annoying that I can't do this, so I figure there MUST be a setting somewhere I could change to enable it.

(I'm only working on one monitor...sorry if that makes your hardened jaw drop down to your chest).
In Single-Window made mode I'd have to grab and move the whole window, but I can't do that if I have a big dialogue window open. In full screen mode I can scroll around and see all parts of that image at 100% without having to Tab my palettes to their hidden state, or shove my open dialogue nearly off-screen.

did any one get a solution for this issue. calling a jsp in the startup of the servlet, i mean in the startup servlet. @Carl - Well heck, yes I did... But after reading your response I went back and tried right-clicking on and refreshing different things and what worked was right-clicking on the project name in the Navigator window and then clicking on refresh in that context menu.

How can I delete an old web page ?? I have created a web page some time ago and now I want to delete it but i do not know how to do it: can anyone help me ?

Delete the web page where it is published.
If it is published to MobileMe, then you need to log into MobileMe and go to your iDisk or mount it on your desktop and then delete it from your Web/sites folder.
If you have published to a server, then you'll need to download Cyberduck, Filezilla or Transmit - all dedicated ftp programmes to connect with your host/server and then delete your old files from the server.
It really is not hard.
