How can I search a pages document for any of a string of words?

I am a teacher and would like to search some short stories for vocabulary that I think will help my students get ready for the SATs one day. I have a long list of SAT vocabulary, close to 1,000 words, and I'm wondering if there's any quick way to just put those words into the Find menu and have it search for ANY of those individual words, rather than the whole string. Is that possible?
Also, info on the arrival of the next version of iWork ('13?) would be awesome.
Thanks.

Locating and Searching Comment annotations.
From the open Comments List you can sort and filter comments.

A sorted / filtered list can be used to generate a PDF comment summary report.

You could then use Find on the output summary report.
Using Acrobat X Pro you can embed an index in the PDF.

Then use the Search tool. With the Search pane open tick "Include Comments".
Search returns have an icon at the left of each instance.
This portion of Acrobat X Pro's online Help shows and describes these.
The third up from the list's bottom is the Comments icon.

How can I print a pages document in book format ..order?

This is usually a function of the driver you're using. Have you looked in the various PDEs for black and white or grayscale? What kind of printer are you using?

  • How can I convert a Pages document into PDF or RTF?

I have been asked to send a Pages document to PC users in RTF or PDF format.  How can I get my Pages document to convert into other formats for PC people?
Is that what the export feature is supposed to do?  I just don't know how to sent my document via e-mail to non-Apple conputers!

You didn’t indicate whether you are using Pages ’09 v4.+ or the latest Pages v5(.2) release. To send an email with either Word or PDF attachment from within Pages:
    Pages ’09 v4+
Pages menubar > Share (category Send via Mail) > (select Word (.doc) or PDF). Mail will launch into a compose window with the document already attached.
    Pages v5+
Pages toolbar > Share > Send a Copy > Email > (select Word (.doc/x) or PDF - best). Mail will behave as above.
Note: Either version of Pages is not an MS Word clone and it must translate content into the Microsoft document architecture. If you must have maximum Word document accuracy, you will need Office for Mac 2011, and the associated MS Word application that produces native .docx format.
    Backup your work.

  • A year later...same question: How can I get a Pages document embedded ???

How can I get a Pages document embedded into an email? (so that the recipient sees it immediately and does NOT have to open a PDF). Although I know a PDF is universal and would allow anyone (mac or not) to open, read and see my business newsletter, I want it to be instantaneous for viewing. So, which leads me to a question I've kicked around for a year now on this discussion board. How do I turn a Pages doc into html for email purposes? If there isn't a way with Pages, How about with Word (the newest version) for Mac? Someone has to know this art, I receive emails like this all the time, probably from Apple! ha ha .
    Please help!

In Mail.app, single page PDF are directly readable so you may try to
print your page #1 in a PDF
    then
print your page #2 in a PDF
    and so on.

As Apple removed the export to html feature, I assume that it's no to reintroduce it one day

  • How can I have a Pages document that is shared with me under my Pages section and not open it with the link?

How can I have a Pages document that is shared with me under my Pages section and not open it with the link?

    Try this.
Open the document and select and copy a few pages, say ten pages.
Open a new blank document and paste the pages you copied into that.
Save it with a new name.
Work on those new pages to see if the problem has disappeared.
If this helps, continue breaking up the large file in to smaller chunks and working on them
You can of course later reverse the process and merge the files into one new one.
This suggestion is based on my experiences with large Word files. Breaking it up in to smaller chunks does two things. First, if there is any corruption in the old file, the new copies might escape that. Second, the Mac is faster handling the smaller chunks.

  • HT2693 how can i save my pages document as a PDF file or jpeg now?

    Hi...
How can i save my pages document as a PDF file or Jpeg file now that the share is NA.

In Pages, go to File > Export > Word, so the document will be saved in .doc to be able to use it in Word

  • How can you save a pages document so it can be opened in Microsoft Word

How can I save a pages document so it can be opened in a Windows (Word) program?

Word can't read .pages documents. You have to export the Pages  document to a Word document. File > export or share > Word
Download the Pages User Guide from your Pages Help menu to learn more about how Pages works.

How can you delete a Pages document from your Ipad but keep it on your MAC?

You will need to keep them in folder on your hard drive somewhere other than in iTunes or they will be deleted from iTunes if you delete them from the device. I have a folder on my Mac called iPad Pages Documents - very original don't you think!
Here is the support article that explains it all.

  • How can I convert a Pages document to a jpeg file?

I need to convert a design I created in Pages into either a jpeg file or creat an "object" out of the design.  I can't figure out how to do either one.  Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Hi Susan,
    1. I think that there was a missing comma in Peter's reply:
Copy your design switch to Preview .app go command n and your design becomes a pdf.
Copy your design[,] [and then] switch to Preview .app go command n and your design becomes a pdf.
    2. In your reply: couldn't find Preview. app.
On my Mac, Preview is listed in Launchpad, and also in Finder > Applications folder.
    Thank you posting a reply.
    Regards,
    Ian.

  • How can I save a pages document as a stationary for email

What I wopuld really like to do is email a newsletter in the form of an email, not an attached document. Simular to how blogger allows. Any advice? is this possible with pages or in another Apple app?

There are two ways of saving a pages document into word or DOC format. In pages, you'll want to go to the share tab. There will be two options that of interest to you. The first is Export. This will give you the option of many types of formats. The second option is an expediated choice for when you want to send something in DOC format in an email, provided you are using the Mail feauture in your mac. Export tab again and send via mail. It will give you the options once again for what format you would like to send it.

  • How can I save a pages document with a new name

I often make changes to pages and numbers documents and save them with a new name. This seems to be impossible under LION. To remove the save as command is very shortsited. The only way I found to get around that is to save the changed document as a templete, remove the changes I made to the original document, Open a new document using the templete I just created, saving that document under the name I would have created using the save as command if it was still there, and then delete the templete. How in the **** is this better? Lion has disrupted almost everything I used to do in Snow Leopard.
The only thing that syncs with mobile me is email. Everything else quit working. I reported the mobile me issue to Apple and am waiting for them to contact me.

I think the issue is easy:
1.- Try to go to the File Menu
2.- Then hold down the Option Key
3.- You will see in the File Menu (while you press the option key) the "save as" option.
4.- Choose the "save as" option.
5.- Choose the file where you want to save your document (you can choose any folder or sub foler in your mac or even iCloud). If you want to, you can even rename the open document where you are working in.
    I hope this would help

That is wrong, (unless you have Mountain Lion), the correct answer is above, posted by deggie

  • Reducing pdf size: How can I reduce a pdf document for MAIL?

I am having trouble getting a mail pdf attachment to be accepted by my server. I am looking for a way to reduce the digital size of the pdf (report) so that it will be a size acceptable to my server (tds).  How can that be done?  What steps should I take?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The Quartz Filter in Finder might help.
Open the pdf file in Preview.
Then File, Save As, (Format PDF) checkmark the Quartz Filter, and select Reduce File Size.
In my test example, a 4 page .pdf file of a newspaper article including lots of text and two large color photos was reduced from 573KB to 147KB.
But do test the results first, by giving the test file a new name instead of saving 'over' the original.
The text remained sharp, but the included photos became noticably pixelated at 100% size.
