How can i see events in iPhoto in list form?

I just got an iMac and have imported all my photos from my PC to iPhoto. Now I want to view the "events" in a list form, but can't see how to do that and can't find any info in Help or the user interface. Anyone know how to do this?

Go to the Photos mode and in View enable Event Titles:
Then you'll get this type of list:
To open or close all events at one time Option-click on the triangle at the beginning of the Event title.

When I copied a photo from any site, how can I see it in iPhoto?

When you tap and hold on image in safari, there will be context menu. Usually there two options at least:
    * Save image
    * Copy
If you'll tap Copy - it will be copied to buffer and you can paste it at your new email (for ex.)
If you'll tap Save image - it will be saved in Photos app on your iPad (in my case it saves at Camera roll album)

What do you mean by "iPhone List"? You can see what's on the phone if you have iTunes on your computer and connect the the phone to the computer.

  • The TOC is very confusing. How can I see the page showing the list of chapters and accompanying pages?

The TOC is very confusing. How can I see the whole list of all the chapters, as it would appear in a book? I only can see a vague image of the chapter title, and only from one chapter at a time; the chapter I am on. In the instruction example it shows also only the "title" of the chapter it pertains to, but it is all in legeable text. The inspector gives options, but it does not explain how to apply it, and I cannot see what my option will look like and to what part of the "text" it is referring.

The "lower rectangles" are thumbnails of the actual pages in your book... the text was presumably the content of your book. IF you did as I suggested to keep the TOC listing of a full book.. but removed content on all except the three chapters you want to send off to XXXXX -  then the "rectangles are showing blank pages. Which is normal.
You need to understand that Apple created iBooks Author to create a book which can be obtained from their iBooks store. The application is flexible for customisation to a large extent and the innovative make use of that flexibility. The TOC basically replaces the old Index in printed books to advise readers what content is available.
On an iPad, or Mac now, Insterad of using  "hyperlinks" from a written index page... which is basic web page navigation - Apple chose  to have a visual TOC.
Basically you  have to decide - create a three chapter sample which you seem to require - which will show the TOC as it is, or  if you the whole TOC of the finished book is required to show... but  not the content, you end  up with blank "rectangles".
Screenshots oniPads... press the  top right start button and the  lower centre,  home buttom together and it  makes a screenshot. Transfer to your computer ( email or Dropbox type cloud) and  add to your post.

  • How can I see "Events" in a LIST - NOT in icons?

Could someone please tell me (step by step, inch by inch) EXACTLY how I can see all of the "Events" in Iphoto '11 as a LIST...with no icons, no "Key Photos," no scrolling through 600 different pictures to try to find the EXACT event I want by DATE that I want on the event - NOT the date that the photo was taken...A LIST:
2011-12 Go to Store (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHING ELSE IN IT)
2010-08 In Thailand (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHING ELSE IN IT)
2005-05 In Mexico (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHING ELSE IN IT)
1983-01 Buy First Computer (BLACK LINE WITH NOTHINGELSE IN IT)
600 MORE OF THESE LINES, BY DATE, AND MY DESCRIPTION, WITH NOTHING ELSE.  PERIOD.
I USED to be able to do this in IPhoto, but since upgrading, it seems to be impossible.  It is EXTREMELY difficult to find the photos I want when dealing with Icons no matter WHAT their size.
Along with "faces" - which I neither need, nor want, nor seem to be able to get rid of, this is the most irritating aspect of Iphoto.  But of course, it's possible that, having spent a week reading the entire manual page by page, and searching every known corner of the Internet - I simply am not smart enough to find the correct answer to this question.  OKAY.  I can admit my limtiations.
    Thanks!

Like the original poster, I'd like to view events as a simple list. A solution is given in this thread but it does not completely provide what I would like.
I would additionally like to have the option to sort the collapsed list of events. Specifically, I would like options to choose sort alphabetically or by date, ascending or descending. The collapsed events list in the photos view seems to be hardwired to display events chronologically.
I am aware that in events view, event tiles can be sorted in the way that I want. However, it is the simple, collapsed list of events that I would like to sort.
Are there any 3rd party iPhoto companion apps that can read my iPhoto library and give me a more controllable view of my events list?

  • How can I see photos in iphoto 7.1.4 that don;t show up?

There are photos on my hard drive (under originals) that do not show up in Iphoto 7. When I try to drag the photos over to I photo from the Originals file, I get an error message saying that the photo already exists in the library.

Welcome to the Apple user discussion forums
first you should never be mucking around in your iphoto library and especially you should never move or change any files inside the iPhoto library - doing so may corrupt your iPhoto library and cause you to lose data
Second you can not import photos into iPhoto from the iPhoto library - this is to protect you from damaging your library and to prevent creating duplicates
What specifically is the problem? how did the photos get into the iPhoto library? have you modified the iPhoto library using the finder in the past?

  • How can i see events on my mac calendar as well in mobilme

I created a calendar on my mac and i want to be able to see it on my phone as well, what should I do ? it doesn't seem to sync

In order to sync you need the full version of MobileMe, not the free 'Find My iPhone' version; and you have to have subscribed to MobileMe before June 6th as new accounts can no longer be created. Syncing will be included in iCloud, due to be rolled out during the autumn.
The upgrade to the new MobileMe calendar produces different results, and different problems, with different versions of OSX.
Lion: the 'Calendar sync' checkbox has been removed from System Preferences>MobileMe>Sync as iCal no longer uses this method to sync and it's therefore redundant. Calendar 'syncing' (actually iCal reads the calendars from the MobileMe server) is now handled in a new Preference Pane, 'Mail, Contacts & Calendars' - please see this Apple Tech Note for instructions on setting this up:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4758
If you have upgraded to Lion and are having trouble syncing you should try removing your login details and re-entering them.
Snow Leopard: during the upgrade process your iCal calendars should be moved to MobileMe (this can take some time and you have to wait for it to happen). Once done, your iCal reads the calendars from MobileMe so any changes made in either place will be visible immediately. If this has not happened then this Apple Tech Note provides instructions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3397
Leopard: when the upgrade is completed iCal on Leopard will not be able to see the MobileMe calendars until an additional process is carried out, detailed in this Apple Tech Note:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4330
Tiger: iCal on Tiger cannot read the MobileMe calendars, period. The only workaround is to upgrade to Leopard, or Snow Leopard if possible (Intel Mac required).

  • How can I view my photos in "Events" like in iPhoto? How can I create events?  I have 55,000 photos and 1700 events so the only way I can possibly manage my photos is using events that are one slide in size.

I have 55,000 images organized into about 1700 events. The only reasonable way to view my library is using events in iPhoto where each event has one image That still leaves 1700 images to sort through but that is a lot easier than 55,000 images.  In the side bar is a folder with "iPhoto Events" but those views still show all of the slides.  How can I create events and view my photos as events as in iPhoto?  Events are critical for large libraries and has been my primary way to sort images.
    Thanks!

I had a problem a couple of months ago when iPhotos suddenly rearranged the order of my Events (Why won't iPhoto let me arrange my photos?) .  I was told "Use albums not events - events are not a good way to organize - albums and folder are designed for organisation and are very flexible".
Haha!  I should have paid attention and read between the lines!  My iPhotos were highly organised groupings - not according to date but the way I wanted them - and it was so easy to do!  I see now that if I had them all in albums, as per the Apple Apologist suggestion, I wouldn't have this unholy mess I have been left with just to make iPhone & iCloud users happy.  I am now going through Photos and making Albums (of what used to be in my Events)  ... maybe I'll get this finished before they do another non user friendly update!

  • How can I see Calendar event END times at a glance?

How can I display my Calendar event titles exactly as I type them? I do not want Calendar to remove duration from the titles of my events. Otherwise I can't see event END times at a glance in month view; only start times. How can I "trick" Calendar to just show my titles as I type them - as I always could before I upgraded. I used to be able to enter "Seminar 9am-5:45" and it would appear that way regardless of how or what I chose to enter (or not enter) for duration.
    I am running OSX 10.9.3.

It's a bit weird, but if you type in the time info TWICE into the event title then Calendar uses/deletes one of them to populate the event details and leaves the other.

TThose aren't bins. Those are just groupings based on when the content was created or any other selected parameter. Use the action popup in the toolbar tho change the setting.

  • How can I archive photos in iPhoto to a hard drive and retain the Album folders and the Events?

How can I archive photos in iPhoto to a hard drive and retain the Album folders and the Events?  I tried to Export the Albums but just transferred the files individually.

If you want to maintain the iPhoto organisation then back up the iPhoto Library.
If you want to export to the Finder, well you need to create a folder for the contents of an Album and expot to that.
If you have an older version of iPhoto: Apps like iPhoto2Disk or PhotoShare will help you export to a Folder tree matching your Events. This feature is built in to iPhoto 11.
