You can get a replacement product or a repair for free if it broke not through your own fault if it is still under warranty. However...

I downloaded the latest version of Firefox. Now every time I log on the homepage has a "restore previous session" button. It takes me to the last place I was when I signed off. Did you have an iCloud account set up on it? If so, did you enable the "find my iPod" switch under the account settings?
If not, there is nothing you can do remotely to it.
If you did, then log in to your iCloud account in a web browser and see if it shows up (it will have to be on, and it will have to be connected to a wifi network for find my iPod to be able to do anything).
You cannot copy anything remotely but you can wipe the device if you want to be sure nothing is taken from it. That action will also cause it to disappear from find my iPod (as your iCloud account will be wiped from it too).
If it was not already passcode locked, you should proceed as if someone already has it and already has had access to your content - i.e. change passwords to accounts now.
