How can I selectively amplify parts of a track?

My apologies if i'm not using the correct parlance, however I'd like to selectively amplify parts of my track that fall within a particular threshold without affecting anything else. For example, I have sections of my track that fall between -6dB and -9dB. I would like to amplify only sound within that range by +2dB. How can I do this? Or, if it'll just "sound better", how can I amplify everything lower than -6dB to be "a little louder" without affecting anything else?
Note that I have already applied compression to my track to bring the peaks down a bit (thresh = -6dB, ratio = 2:1); that was the first half of what I want to accomplish. The amplification question above is the other half. I'm not interested in having the compressor do all the work; the results have always been severly clipped audio.

What you have already done to your track to reduce the peaks is "downward" compression. What you need now is a little "upward" compression to bring up the level of the -9 to -6 range. Audition's Dynamic Processing is quite good for this as you can either draw on the graph or enter values for various levels in the audio.
Alternatively "parallel" compression might be appropriate here. There is an excellent article on how to do it in the latest edition of Sound on Sound mag.

I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. I want to create playlists based on certain words in the song title. For example, I may want to create a playlist of all my songs with LOVE in the title.
Doing the search is easy, but I can't select more than one song at a time. Is there any way in iTunes 12 for Windows to do this? I found an answer in iTunes for Mac, and it basically says to "un-check "Search Entire Library." " but I don't see that option in iTunes for Windows.

Found the "Search Entire Library" option - click on the small (VERY small for my eyesight) down arrow next to the magnifying glass. Also need to select "Filter by: Songs", and then the songs in the main window show the results.

you cannot set focus on a subform but on a field, as only interactive objects can be focussed.
From a dropdowns exit event the script will look this way:

I am looking at month view in Calendar on my iPad. I touch a date. Intuitively, I expect that date to open up in Day or Week view, but it doesn't! On my iphone, it works just fine. Am I missing something?

I would try this:
In Lr import one photo into a different folder that you can see in the list.
Then in your OS (mac Finder / Win Explorer) move the photo to the folder that you cannot see.
In Lr the photo will now appear with a question mark on its frame. Click directly on the question mark and select <Locate photo>. Navigate to the folder, open it, and click on the photo.
Maybe this will help Lr to recognize the folder.
If this doesn't help try renaming the folder in your OS.

Click on the inbox then Edit>Select All (if you are using Mail, if not you'll have to tell us which mail program you use) repeat in other mailboxes as needed.

How can I paste a part of a sheet from Numbers in Pages as text, without the formulas.The reason I need this (and was used to in Office) so that I have the freedom to delete something in one cell (in pages document) without causing changes.

How can I paste a part of a sheet that I copied in Numers in a pages document without the formulas, simply as text. Used this a lot in Office. When I make some changes in the pages document. f.i. deleting a cell, I don't want to change other cells. Also when I copy a part of a sheet from Numbers and one of the cells that is part of the formula is not also copied, when I paste in Pages it shows as an error.

There are two solutions to the first question, narrowing to one solution when you have a broken link causing an error.
Here's the "works always" solution.
Copy (Command-C) the table or range in Numbers
Click off the table on the blank canvas of the sheet.
Edit > Paste Values
Command-C
Switch to Pages
Command-V
