How can I set my Ipod Classic to play the next podcast rather than repeating same one

I have several episodes of a podcast on my Ipod Classic. I would like to set it so that when one finishes, the next episode starts. How can I do this?

As you may have found out, the iPod Classic will play Podcast episodes in reverse order if you let it simply play from the programme's episode list.
The solution is to create a Playlist with the epsiodes in the order you want them to play. You can either create a Playlist in iTunes and Sync it to the iPod, or create an On-The-Go Playlist on the iPod itself. Make sure that shuffle is turned off, because if it is on, the Playlist will stop at the end of the first episode.
Oh, and to stop it repeating the same one, turn off the repeat feature too.

You need to select the playlist on the shuffle, when you play it.  If you do not select a particular playlist, it plays from the All Songs list.  When you set the switch to play in order (not shuffle), the All Songs list plays in alphabetical order.
To select a playlist, use the VoiceOver feature.  This document explains how to set up and use VoiceOver.

  • How can I get my iPod Classic to play playlists in the order I selected them to play ?

I've had my new iPod Classic for a couple of months, and with the help of a couple of third-party books (e.g., the missing manual), I'm getting comfortable with its operation. But here's a baffling issue: It appears there's no way to select, say, three or four playlists in iTunes and to synch them to my Classic so that they play in the order I want, much the way I did for  many years with my 5-disk CD player. Note: I assiduously avoid shuffling, and I do all my synching in iTunes manually.  I'd be grateful for any help (or workaround) to deal with this irritating issue. Thanks to all.

On the iPod, create an On-The-Go Playlist.
Navigate to the first Playlist you want to use; press-and-hold the Select (centre) button until the Playlist name flashes. This puts that playlist into the On-The-Go Playlist, which is located at the bottom of the Playlist menu.
Now navigate to the second Playlist you want; press-and-hold the Select button until the Playlist name flashes. This has added the second Playlist to the On-The-Go Playlist.
Repeat for each Playlist you want to add.
Once you have added all the Playlists you want, scroll down to the end of the Playlist to On-The-Go list. If you go into the On-The-Go list, you will see all the songs form your other Playlists, in Playlist order. Simply scroll to the first song and press the Select or Play to start the first song playing.

If you cannot find the answer by:

  • How can I get my IPOD Classic to play books using Gracenote?

In the past I have been able to use my IPOD classic to listen to books on my cars using the USB connection. My new Car a (2013 GMC Terrain) will play the book, but I have no control of it if I try to pause it, it will revert back to the radio view and I have replug the unit.  Unfortunately, GMC added the Gracenote indexing software to the Intellink, so that it doesn't recognize the books, only songs. Is there a solution for this? No help from Audible or GMC.

  • How can i get my ipod classic to play old podcasts first

first of, the ipad classic is fantastic and apple will be wise not to discontinue it.  anyway, one thing that gets my goat, is that when listening to podcasts it plays the newest first in sequence.  Why on earth would this be right?? anyone know how to change it?
    kind regards

It's possible that Apple have realised that this is an odd way to make the iPod work because the iPod Touch has a much improved listing for Podcasts. (I own both. Guess which one I use for Podcasts!)
I realise this isn't much help to you now, but it does suggest that Apple have sorted it out for newer models and you may want to consider that if you ever think about replacing the Classic. And yes, it is fantastic.
Now if only the iPod Touch had 160Gb of storage...

  • How can i get my iPod to stop playing after it finishes an episode?  At one time I could do this and fall asleep listening to my podcast but now it keeps playing and the battery is dead in the morning.

why won't my iPod stop after finishing episodes.  It keeps playing.

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities
On the iPod you can enable a sleep timer: Settings -> Extras -> Alarms -> Sleep Timer.

  • My laptop died, how can I plug my ipod classic into a new pc with out losing all my music, over 10,000 songs?!

my laptop died, how can I plug my ipod classic into a new pc with out losing all my music, over 10,000 songs?!
    Please help!

Was your iPod previously set up to Manually Manage (where you dragged/dropped the music) or was it set to auto sync (where it started sycning as soon as you plugged it in.)?
If it was set to Manual, you have no worries. Just continue on your way.
If it was set to Auto, you will have to transfer your purchases or redownload them from the iTunes store.
You're either going to have to get the other music back from the websites/CDs you got them from before or find an iPod ripping software program that will do it for you.

  • How can I authorize an iPod Classic with my own Apple ID?

How can I authorize an iPod Classic with my own Apple ID? It belonged to someone else so presumably it has been authorized with another id. Your help and answers are much appreciated.

To make sure the file system is closed properly iPod classics should be ejected from the iTunes interface, or if iTunes isn't running, using the "Safely remove hardware" tool. That message is a standard warning. If the device shows up in iTunes you can configure the selection of media content that you want to sync to it and press the sync button to start the process. iTunes may spend quite a long time "thinking" before any tracks are copied over.
If you think there might be something wrong with the device itself see Corrupt iPod classic for some troubleshooting tips.

  • How Can You Track Your Ipod If Lost Using The Serial Number

How Can You Track Your Ipod If Lost Using The Serial Number?

The find my iphone app has nothong to do with it.
That app simply allow you to find other devices using your ipod.  It has nothing to do with fining the device on which it is installed.
If you set up the find my ipod feature that is built into your ipod and the ipod is on and it is connected to wi-fi and it has not been restored, then you may be able to get an approximate street address using icloud.
    Othrewise, it cannot be tracked.

",the owner sold the ipod without clearing the songs and since the songs were not puchased from the itunes store then i believe i now own the songs"
    Not true at all.
It does not matter where the songs came from, they are not yours and the previous owner does not own the right to distribute them to others.
The law is the same with downloads and cds and any other medium.
