How can I tell when I'm in a private browsing session - Firefox 35.0.1

When I open a private browsing window in Firefox v 35.0.1, there are no indicators that I'm actually in a private browsing window. In my previous version of Firefox, when using the "New Private Window" command, a new window would pop open that stated in the body: "You are currently browsing in private mode", or something to that effect. It would also display a purple mask in the upper right hand portion of the window near the maximize/minimize/close icons.
Now when I try to open a private window in FF 35, it opens a window that looks identical to the standard FireFox window, with nothing to indicate that i am browsing in private mode. What is happening?
I have attached a screenshot of the top portion of my browsing window while supposedly in a Private Window.

Thanks for your help everyone. Edmeister: I went into the privacy options under History, I had "never remember history" set as my choice. Apparently that assumes a default setting that behaves in the same way as what you described. If I change the drop down option to "use custom settings for history", it then gives me the option to check or uncheck the "always use private browsing mode" (default was checked). When I unchecked that option, Firefox prompted for a restart and then allowed me to open a private window as normal. Thanks again!

How can I completely remove and/or disable the Private Browsing feature in 3.6?

There is no built-in way to remove or disable the feature. You can hide the menu options but the keyboard shortcut to start private browsing will still work. Even with the menu options hidden it is still possible to delete browsing history. If you want to keep track of all sites visited you will need an external option. I am using a super class of ViewObjectImpl where I am definning a bind parameter (Student ID) using login userid:

I always want google classic, but sometimes i get google beta or google security (or whatever, can't remember its name) when i don't want it. why does this happen and how can i set google classic as the default?

Whose mistake? The source of the problem:
I was required to enter my recovery key. Now, there begins that huge flaw. I've forgotten it (I know it was my responsibility to remember it).

Remembering your password.

Keeping your Recovery Key in a safe place.
If you lose access to two of these three items at the same time, you could be locked out of your Apple ID account permanently.
In addition, with two-step verification turned on, only you can reset your password, manage your trusted devices, or create a new recovery key.
Apple Support can help you with other aspects of your service, but they will not be able to update or recover these three things on your behalf.
If you aren't responsible enough to do that, you should not have turned the optional security feature on.
This is your fault, not Apple's.

What is the default identity store - and how can I set it?

I'm running Webcenter on WLS, and using WLS and JPS for the authentication of users. On the WLS Console, if I go to Security Realms -> myrealm -> Providers, I have a list of four different providers.
If I understand correctly, these four providers are my identity stores. How can I set one as the 'default' identity store? Or see which one is currently the default?
The reason I'm asking is I have the following code in Webcenter to create a new user in the Active Directory:

Thanks a lot for your help and providing this link. I'd actually already looked at that before, but I don't understand how it clarifies what the default identity store is. The relevant part is this, if I understand correctly:
OPSS initializes the identity store service with the LDAP authenticator chosen from the list of configured LDAP authenticators according to the following algorithm:
1.    Consider the subset of LDAP authenticators configured. Note that, since the context is assumed to contain at least one LDAP authenticator, this subset is not empty.
2.    Within that subset, consider those that have set the maximum flag. The flag ordering used to compute this subset is the following:
    REQUIRED > REQUISITE > SUFFICIENT > OPTIONAL
    Again, this subset (of LDAPs realizing the maximum flag) is not empty.
3.    Within that subset, consider the first configured in the context.Step (1) will match 2 external AD's and the built-in WLS LDAP, so 3 in total.
Step (2) will still match 3 in total, as they are all 'sufficient'. In my setup, I need them all to be 'sufficient'.
Step (3) is a step I don't understand. What is "the first configured in the context"? What context? Do they mean the one that was first created? In that case I can't change the default, right?
Or do they mean "the first in the list on the WLS Console"?

I assume you're using Portal 3.0 (it always helps to mention which portal version you're using).
I suggest you search this forum for "new window". You'll find several threads discussing how to implement this feature in Portal 3.0.

How does Craigslist remember my last visited location in private browsing?

This is for a Mac running OSX 10.8 using private browsing with no exceptions of any kind for any site..
I use a Craigslist bookmark for, say Pittsburgh. I then switch inside CL to, say, Los Angeles CL. I then close FF.
I restart FF and using my Craigslist bookmark for Pittsburgh I log in to CL again.
This is when the problem starts: Little Snitch (a program that alerts you to outgoing internet connections) asks for permission to log in the the Los Angeles site that I logged out from and restarted FF. SO CL KNOWS MY LAST VISITED CL SITE after I shut down FF

are you logging in to your CL account while using private browsing? (private browsing will only take care of traces left on your computer, but can't control what a website is doing with data that's available)

You can set up your default mail client in Mail.
Open Mail
In the menu bar choose Mail... > Preferences
In the Preferences pane choose General and in the Default email reader menu select your email client
Quit Mail
Now when you click on a link in Safari that email client will open.

Voicemail is a cell phone carrier function. Contact your carrier to see if they have this option. If not, i'm sure you can download a sound file from the internet with a greeting and add your name.
