How can I set Paul to be the default TTS voice?

Is there a way to set a TTS voice as the default so that it is always selected by default as the voice to use? I have all the voices installed and it currently defaults to Bridget - I guess because that is the first voice in the list. I normally use Paul but sometimes others so I want access to all the voices but would like the default to be Paul. I know that once I set Paul for the first slides, it defaults for that project for the rest of the slides, but I have to do this for every project and if I forget to set Paul then I have to go back and redo the slides. It would be nice if I could set the default to the voice I use the most often. I'm using Captivate 7.

j,
In the Finder, single-click on any text file, then type command-I (Get Info). You'll see an Open With... menu item. Select Pages from the list (if it's not in the list, navigate to it). Finally, click the Change All button. Use the same process for .doc files. Now, if you double-click on any of these files, it should open in Pages.

  • I always want google classic, but sometimes i get google beta or google security (or whatever, can't remember its name) when i don't want it. why does this happen and how can i set google classic as the default?

I just want google classic. How can i set it as my default. (I have a desk top computer, use firefox, and this never happens.)

Why Apple can't undo its mistake?
Whose mistake? The source of the problem:
I was required to enter my recovery key. Now, there begins that huge flaw. I've forgotten it (I know it was my responsibility to remember it).
If you had just taken the simple steps of storing your recovery key as Apple tells you to when you set it up, none of this would've happened.
As it clearly states in the FAQ on 2-step verification: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570
After you turn it on, there will be no way for anyone to access and manage your account at My Apple ID other than by using your password, verification codes sent your trusted devices, or your Recovery Key. You must be responsible for:
    Remembering your password.
Keeping your trusted devices physically secure.
Keeping your Recovery Key in a safe place.
If you lose access to two of these three items at the same time, you could be locked out of your Apple ID account permanently.
In addition, with two-step verification turned on, only you can reset your password, manage your trusted devices, or create a new recovery key.
Apple Support can help you with other aspects of your service, but they will not be able to update or recover these three things on your behalf.
If you aren't responsible enough to do that, you should not have turned the optional security feature on.
This is your fault, not Apple's.

    Greetings,
I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.
    Good Luck - Cheers,
    M.

  • How can I set up hotmail in the mail application

    Hi
How can I set the mail application to include hotmail? I've been able to add it, but it doesn't sync read and unread messages. I know iPhones used to have the same problem, but after iOS5, there was an option to include mail from hotmail. Is there an option to include hotmail now in Mail, as I can't find it.
Also, as I've just switched from Windows to Mac, is there a button on Mac for home and end like Windows has?
    Thanks

Unfortunately hotmail requires you to pay a fee to have your e-mail go through a mail application, like Apple Mail. Contact their customer service to see about fees, as well as set up process.

  • We have had to change to a new router but the Macbook Pro still reverts to the old router.  How can this new one be made the default?

We have had to change to a new router but the Macbook Pro still reverts to the old one. How can we lose this and make the new router the default?

Go to "Network" under system preferences and choose "advanced"
On the Wi-Fi tab you can sort the sequence of the preferred connections.
Then just move your new router to the top of the list.

  • How can I set timings to increase the size of an image in a Keynote presentation?

I know how to use inspector to bring in and fade out text boxes, but at the end of a slide I have a graphic (that is at the bottom of the slide during the rest of the slide) that I want to increase the size of to take up the entire slide.  How can I do this?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
The effect you're looking for is 'Scale'
In Keynote '09, 5.1.1 select the graphic.
Click Inspector in the tool bar, Build Inspector (3rd icon from the left), (Build In and Build Out are both set to None for this step) Effect, Action, and then Scale.
It rescales ('zooms') the selected item (image) up or down from 0% to 200%
Clicking on the More Options button at the bottom opens a drawer to the left, and gives you more control over how the build occurs, whether they happen automatically, timed, or when you click, and re-order build steps.
At 200%, double the original size, resolution could be a problem. There is a workaround, because it also scales smaller, down to 0%. So I would scale the graphic down 'small' as the first step to fit at the bottom, (even hide it behind a background-colored box) as you scale it down, and then at the end, scale up to full size to fill the screen at 'normal' resolution.
In the attached example, I use a 'scale' up to go from 100% to 130% on a map, and use arrows and a flashing line to point out the road where a specific business is located with 12 steps. Some elements in my slides have been intentionally obscured. For simplicity, I've eliminated showing any steps but the initial title and the scale.

  • My iphone screen turns up very big, how can I set it back to the normal look? Thank u, my iphone screen turns up very big, how can I set it back to the normal look? Thank u

my iphone screen suddenly turns very large and I can't put it back to normal. I tried to turn it off and on again, but still keep the same big screen. Please advise me how can I turn it to normal size again.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! My screen images were so big that I couldn't log in or even slide the control to turn the phone off. The double tap with three fingers gave me the access I needed, and then I was able to turn zoom off via the settings as you suggested.

  • How can I set a description during the FI-TV posting (PRFI transaction)

I would like to set a description in the FI text position field (BSEG-SGTXT) during the posting of travel management (PRFI).
    Thanks

I've found  the implementation Z_TRIP_POST_FI_IT connected to the class ZCL_IM__TRIP_POST_FI_IT. Using the methods methods IF_EX_TRIP_POST_FIEX_SGTXT and IF_EX_TRIP_POST_FIMODIFY_PTRV_DOC_IT it's possible to set a description in the field SGTXT.

  • How can I make folder View Options the default in Snow Leopard?

Hi everybody! Here I am, learning to Mac!
When I do a secondary click on an open folder's background and click on +show visualization options+ (actually, +mostrar opciones de visualización+ in spanish), there's an option +set as default+ ( +ajustes por omisión+ ) which, as far as I understood, should change all the rest folder's aspect, as icon's size, font size, background image and so on... but all the rest folder's aspect keep being shown as before, just the folder where I am working changes.
My questions are: if I am wrong with the use of that "ajustes por omisión", what is it for? And how can I personalize the aspect of all folders on my mac?
    Thanks for your help

It's "show view options" in English. Also obtained by typing CMD+J
Those only apply to the top-level folder. Each folder you open uses whatever you've elected to use as the defaults. Select a folder, CMD+J, set the view as you desire, click on Use as Default button. That setting will be used for all windows that you open in the future that have never been opened previously. All other windows that you opened will retain whatever view you previously selected for them.
If you want to reset everything to one view, close all open Finder windows, launch the Terminal app (/Applications/Utilities/), copy & paste this command into the window that pops up,
    find ./ -name ".DS_Store" -depth -exec rm {} \;
hit the return key, quit the Terminal app, restart, open a Finder window, CMD+J, set up the view options as desired, click the Use as Defaults button, and close the view options window. Now, every Finder window you open will have this view.

  • How can i set a breakpoint on a default constructor

I'd like to catch all instances where a specific class is constructed but only the default constructor exists and it is implicitly defined.  How can I break in the default constructor?
    thanks,

There is no code where you want a breakpoint, so I'm not sure what instruction you'd like the debugger to break your program at.  ???
Since your goal is only to "catch" all instances where a specific class is constructed I think the only thing is to modify your code to do so.  I can't think of an approach that doesn't require a code modification and recompile.  Especially
since it's not clear where such classes were inlined in already compiled code.  And because of that alone, I'm
fairly certain you have to instrument your code (modify your code by inserting something special) to catch it.
So can you modify the class you want to catch?  Just add a default constructor and set your breakpoint in there.
Alternatively if you really want to try to do what you are doing, you can step into any code that creates an instance of your class in disassembly and set a breakpoint in the disassembled code for the constructor (assuming you can locate it, and it even
    exists), then rerun your program.
