I have in my report a date parameter and I want to set as default value the date today.
How can I do this?

If you are using a datatemplate , you can have a beforereport trigger that will have a package call.
In the package spec, define a date variable and also define the function beforereporttrigger that retruns boolean.
In the body, define the beforereporttrigger function with
begin
select sysdate into specvariable from dual
return(true);
end;
You can then use the variable in the datatemplate as :variable.

You can write your own connection class for establishing the connection with DB.
Ex:

Well i use lubuntu 14.04 and i've realized that the html5 player on youtube works so much better than the flash player, but i can't use it by default, for play videos i have to request the html5 player, and the problem is when i restart the browser or when i turn off my computer, big is my surprise because youtube is using the flash player. I usually use Ubuntu, and am not aware of HTML5 being the default for Flash videos on Windows.
Is it more likely you have chosen an option on the YouTube website to use HTML5. I think this page offers support and includes an option to toggle HTML5 or FlashPlayer.

How can I change the numeric and enum default values in a Strict Type Def Cluster?

I have a Strict Type Def cluster that contains 10 Numerical controls and a number of enums. I have edited default values of the numerical controls in the Strict Type Def, in customize mode, performed a "Make Current Values Default" and have done a "Apply Changes" and saved.
This cluster is used in various locations throughout the project and have not found a way to make the cluster default values change downstream. The Strict Type Def (STD) Control appears to have the right values on the front panel. But if I place an instance of this on a blank front panel, and run a wire from it in the block diagram with a probe and indicator, I still get the old default values being passed from the STD.

So one trick to "push" changes to typedef instances is to change the data type, apply changes, and then change the data type back. I think you're confusing our DB (C-based product) with JE. JE does not have lock mode levels, page locks (it does not have pages), or database locks. JE only has the BTREE method, it does not have the HASH method. For JE, please be sure to reference the JE doc page:

Apple never included the auto-update feature for dates in Pages v5.2.2. You would have to single-click the date, and deliberately update it.
If you have Pages ’09 v4.3 in /Applications/iWork '09, then it will allow you to configure auto-update of the date field. Right-click on the date, set the format, and click the selection for automatically update on open.

This is our current setup in EIC...
Category 0501 has an SLA of 8 hours. Subcategory 050101 has to be none SLA relevant. But if we put zero or blank to the SLA Target Value field, it will automatically have a due date defaulted to today. If we will not indicate 050101 on the configuration, it will have the 0501 SLA of 8 hours.
How can we set the 050101 SLA off?

@Harish, I already tried unchecking the checkbox of the Display field but the problem with this is, it will also apply for the rest of the categories. It should only be for this specific subcategory.

Are you saying, you are getting junk characters in the email attachment? Then pls check the following. Since you want to send Japanese fonts, please pass language 'J' in both objpack-obj_langu = '3' & doc_chng-obj_langu = '3' instead of '3' please replace it with 'J'.
Another thing which you may have to check is the SCOT device type. As I understand from my basis colleague, this may also affect your attachment fonts since the emails are sent through SCOT. Go to transaction SCOT-> Settings-> Device types for format conversion. Check whether wrong device type is defined for Japanese there. Hope this helps

I do not have Mavericks or iOS - but the first thing I would do is reset the defaults - I'll use Mavericks as an example

    Click the Dates tab.
