How can I set up Facetime on a deactivated Sprint iphone 4?

I bought a Sprint iphone 4 from someone who had deactivated due to he couldnt afford the extra data package; therefore the ESN is bad and not free and clear. I have a 12yr old son with Down Syndrome who had played with his sisters ipod touch and I thought we might be able to get him to like this one instead. When I showed him the Angry Birds game, to our astonishment, he took to it immediately. It is the first time he's ever played, and completed any game, ever. Needles to say what I bought for parts(I have a cell phone repair business) has now become his phone. Usually in these cases I do a complete reset, but instead, I have deleted all the prior owners personal information and reset up the wifi and my email info.
The problem I'm having is getting Facetime to work on this used iphone 4. Another daughter is away at college, has an iphone 4 with AT&T, and we would love for our son to be able to talk to the sister he misses so much. I have set up an account in Apple, followed all the instructions, and it never gets past the "Verifying"message then "Activation unsuccessful. Turn on Facetime to try again." We are utilizing Wifi and have a good strong connection, because I can surf the net and get into my AOL account.
I would really love to be able to set this up; can this be done? I am "Old School" and would need a step by step instruction. Thanx!!!

If it is true about the SMS, then it can't be done. The phone would have to be activated and, as I stated in my OP, the ESN is not free and clear. Therefore It can't send the SMS, ever. I didn't get "Hosed", as I said in the OP, I originally bought the phone for parts. It was only used 3 weeks, looked brand new, is white, and only had 3 hours on the Talktimer. It was only when I discovered my son connected with the Angry Birds game did I consider giving it to him. I have software to identify most SPC's(Service Provider Code) on Sprint, Verizon, and most CDMA phones. I utilize this to update Software, reflash, or Change PRL's, on CDMA phones. But even finding out this and reprograming it with another number won't work if an actual SMS has to be sent thru the Sprint System; besides, I'm pretty sure this software(CDMA WS Pro) won't work with iphones. So I guess the "Genius" guy wouldnt be able to help me out anyway. Too bad there isnt away around having to use Sprint to activate an Apple app. If anyone else has a solution, please let me know. Do you not get the icon on the top bar of the iPhone?
Once you press on the network, the iPhone should connect to it. If the Network has a wep or WPA key it should be requested at that time.
Once the above has been completed, then the iPhone is connected. And you can use the wifi conneftion to browse the internet. It should also show a checkmark next to the network signifying it connected.
If its having trouble connecting or taking some time you should see the next to the network spinning around.

What exact model of the AirPort Extreme do you have? If it is an 802.11g version, you will NOT be able to administer it from your iPhone as its version of the AirPort Utility is not compatible.

First set up FT with the same Apple ID. Then for one of the devices, add another email address as the calling address and delete the Apple ID as the calling address on that device.

I just tried adding my Comcast info to my iPhone without a problem.
Just to make sure you are tapping Settings / Mail, Contacts, Calendars then tapping Add Account / Other / Add Mail Account.
Make sure you have the correct email address and password. You have to type in @comcast.net after you user name.

Hi,
As you said you could do it at the report level and also at the universe level.
One more way is to create the filters in the universe levele and add them in thequery filter.
Ex: in the filter you need to write :
Column1 is null and and column 2 is not null etc.

I learned that the Dock is positioned at the chosen edge of whatever Display is positioned farthest to that side. I think I have it working on my iPhone 5. But, I do not see how I can control the exit point that I would like for the VPN. Are all the exit points shown in the VPN setting now going to work with Open VPN, or do they remain PPTP? If I am reading correctly, they look like they remain PPTP. If I cannot control the exit point for open VPN, which exit point is the default in the profile you provided me?I note that Open VPN Connect does not work with any of the new 64 bit devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the new iPad MIni. Is there any chance that you guys will come up with an update for your app so that open VPN can be made to work on all iOS devices? That would be nice, particularly if the Open VPN Connect app does not give me a choice of exit points.Thanks,

Just a quick note to tell you that Open VPN has updated their app so that it is compatible with 64 bit ARM devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the iPad Mini Retina.That does not resolve the problem of how to easily choose among the various possibilities for the exit server. We need to find an easy way to choose.
