How can i set up my itunes to automatically retrieve my photos and videos from my iphone when i connect it to my computer?

when i connect my phone to the computer it used to auto retrieve my photos and videos, but some how it has changes, is there some setting that i change or somethig to auto upload my photos and videos from my phone to my computer?

There is Settings > General > Restrictions > Require Password which you can set to '15 minutes' - the only other option for the setting is 'Immediately', you won't be able to have it as 2 or 3 minutes.

I am quite confused with how iCloud and Photo Stream work to transfer photos and videos from my iPhone to my PC. I recently ran out of my space on iPhone so I need to delete all of my pictures and videos but I first want to confirm that they have all been transferred over to my PC. I have iCloud setup but here lately I have been getting the warning message that iCloud could not perform it's backup because I was out of space on iCloud. I had not worried about it since I figured that all of my pictures and videos were on my iPhone anyway and the only reason I would need them on iCloud would be for a backup. Anyway, how can I confirm that everything has been transferred over to my PC? Then, what is the quickest way to delete all of my exisiting photos and videos off of my iPhone? I found the Photo Stream folder on my PC... Is everything automatically added to this when I connect my iPhone to my PC? If I delete something off of my iPhone is it deleted from the Photo Stream folder on my PC? Please help and thank you! I just don't want to lose any of my stuff!

You don't move them to iTunes or an iTunes account.
You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

I have iPhone 4 with iOS 5. Can't download photos and videos from my iphone because my PC doesn't see it. Also my camera roll doesn't show right thumbnails and when i open a photo it shows it in low resolution. Only after i start editing it shows the photo itself in original resolution. iTunes recognises my phone but freezes on back up. When i updated my phone to ios 5 everything was wiped clear and i lost all of data that was in it. Please help me, i do not want to lose my data again.
I plugged it in to another pc (win7) but no files in DCIM.

appears to be one of the bugs associated with ios 5 that need to be worked out. (i had a problem where I had music on my phone, the phone didn't recognize the music but the computer could find it)
While I don't know how to fix the immediate problem, I have a workaround that will get you past this if you are willing...
My suggestion is to turn on icloud and photostream on your iphone, and download and install the icloud control panel on your pc found here

take a "picture" (quickly press the home button and lock button at the same time) of each picture on your device so they show up in your camera roll and will sync to your photostream cloud. This will in turn cause your pc to download the photos from your photostream cloud via the icloud control panel. Try to search with a Smart Album for photos and videos taken with an iPhone:
File > New > Smart Album:
Add an EXIF rule fro the "Add Rule" drop down menu: EXIF
and set it to "Camera Model includes iPhone".
Set the scope of the search to "Library"
If there are any iPhone images or videos in your library at all, this search should find them. Then ctrl-click any of the items and select "Show in Project" from the contextual menu.
Generally, Aperture should be showing your last import in the "Last Import" smart album in the "recent" section". And the "projects" view can be sorted by date, so you should see your recent imports.
You may want to check all search fields, if searches are active.

Two steps:
you can first transfer photos from iPhone to computer and then drag them to the external hard drive. For your iTunes library, you can follow:
1. Quit iTunes.
2. Locate your external drive.
Mac: On the desktop or Finder sidebar.
3. Locate your iTunes folder:By default, the iTunes folder is located in:
Mac: Finder > username > Music
4. Drag the iTunes folder to your external drive. This can take a while if you have a lot of items.
6. When the transfer is complete, your iTunes Library will have been successfully copied to your external drive.

It is a hard one.. laptops with small drives are a pain.
What you need is a home media server.
Some people use a PC running itunes for cost.. but that is nothing like as good as using a Mac mini.. they make great little HTPC device.. you can plug in large hard disks and store all your files and media. And share it with the network.. Read up apple's instructions on home sharing.

For cost you can buy a mini from 2011 or 2012.. I would not recommend earlier ones.. the advantage of 2012 is they have USB3 ports. But you will pay more for them.. new mini is not as useful.. they have soldered in memory and you cannot upgrade.. the old mini was the most easily modified mac in the whole range. Uses little power and can be bought for a $300US for a good one second hand.. maybe less.

I've seen posts before from users that report their computer suddenly stopped seeing new photos on their device. I'm not sure what the solution would be though. At least we know it's not a connectivity or usb device driver issue.
You could try transferring your photos (and videos) to your computer wirelessly using an app like PhotoSync. Once transferred, delete them from your phone to eliminate a possible data corruption issue that may be causing this problem. Then, if you still want the photos on your phone, you could then transfer them back using PhotoSync.

Can't delete photos and videos from my iphone

i have photos and videos on my iphone 5 that are taking up way too much space and i cannot delete them.
no photos appear in itunes, under device/photos tab, and no albums are synched in any way to aperture or iphoto.
i cannot see them on my iphone to individually delete them; this would be time consuming if it were possible.
in preview, i can see the photos and videos, but they are greyed out and i cannot delete them.
my phone is running out of memory because of these videos and photos. please help.

In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply.

You don't need to look through iTunes. On the device, are these photos/video located in the camera roll? If not, then they are synced from the computer. Connect the iPhone to the computer and iTunes. Go to the Photo tab and look to see what you have checked. You should see something checked there. Just uncheck what is marked and sync again.

Depends on if you have a Windows computer or a Mac, but this should show you how to import those new pics. Another way to do it on a PC is to open 'My Computer', then right click on your iOS device; Imports all the new pics AND videos you have straight to the "My Pictures" album with today's date.

I'm not clear on what it is you are trying to do or why. Certainly, if you have access to the other computer. Put it this way. The files are either on your phone, the other computer, or in iCloud if you send bckups there (I'm not sure about videos). There's also different grouping for these items depending upon the source. As you can see it gets complicated, especially when we don't get the details from you. Are these photos you just took or ones you uploaded from your computer? What's the origin of the videos?
