How can I set which projects use Proxy Media and not just change every project?

Hi there
I can see how to change ALL projects to use Proxy Media or Original/Optimised Media
in
Preferences>Playback
But I'm switching between projects a lot and I only want to use Proxy Media on one project, so how can I tell FCPX to only use Proxy Media on that ONE project?

Perhaps if apple didn't take back prores LT this wouldn't be as much of an issue.
Pores LT was a great compromise between file size and quality. It produced a fine image for most peoples needs and was 30% smaller.
Hopefully it will be returned soon. I can't imagine why it's not already there. Unless they want to charge for it, ... again..
Have you tried capturing as full res, then change prefs back to proxy, open a new project and import the full res files?
In FCP7 the render pref was separate from the capture pref. is that gone too?
If my idea doesn't work, Surely someone will chime in with a creative work around to this.
And hopefully it'll get fixed soon in an update.

Hi,
As you said you could do it at the report level and also at the universe level.
One more way is to create the filters in the universe levele and add them in thequery filter.
Ex: in the filter you need to write :
Column1 is null and and column 2 is not null etc.

You would upload it the way you would upload any set of files to your web server. Some companies have them set up as network shares, some have them set up so that you log in with an FTP or SFTP account, and some have them set up so that you use SCP or a similar protocol. Basically, you will want to publish to web and then take the contents of the publish/web/ directory and put them into a directory on your webserver.

Sorry for the lengthy delay to a response. Are you trying to convert multiple files to individual PDF files at the same time? (not combine them). If so, you'll need to use Adobe Acrobat for this function. The CreatePDF service does not have the ability to convert multiple files to multiple individual PDF files.

I find that most times I'm working in 2 or 3 tracks only and it would be great if I could enlarge the size of those to work with rather than the thin tracks they appear as. I realize if I click on one that it will appear larger below to edit but can I have all the tracks recorded appear larger?

How can I control which apps use cellular data?

Sometimes I marvel at Apple's amazingness and sometimes I can't believe the holes. Googling around I get the impression that iOS/iPhone provides no means for a user to take control of their data plan and set which apps are permitted to use cellular data and to track cellular data usage on an app by app basis. Am I the only one that finds it unbelievable that an operating system designed for a cell phone that supports adding piles of sometimes sketchy 3rd party apps doesn't have this baked right in? There seem to be a few apps try monitor overall aggregate data usage, but they are useless at getting to the root cause.
So, I hope I'm just missing it. How do I figure out which broken, buggy, misconfigured app I stupidly installed is eating my data plan? Maybe Android is a better choice for guys like me that are too busy to play whack a mole uninstalling and reinstalling apps for hours and days to try to solve such a tedious mystery.

How can you set up ECCN in Material Master if not using Foreign Trade

After many years, we now have the need to store ECCN codes on our Material Masters. Although I see on the Foreign Trade view of the Material Master under Legal Control what appears to be a way to set this up, the fields are grayed out and do not seem to have an option to add? We use Commodity Codes, and we need to just store the ECCN like we do the Commodity Code. Any ideas?

You may need to disable the hardware acceleration if you have a problem with font display.

...and the only thing different is that three digit string at the end ("006" will vary). How can I write a function that I can call from a step's Pre-Expression so it would look something like this? ...
Locals.tagID = MyNewFunction("006")

You cannot write custom commands for expressions.
That being said, there are a couple of options:
Create a subsequence with a single step. Use a parameter of the sequence as "function parameter".
Create a custom step type including a substep module which implements the function. Add an edit substep to enable the user of the steptype to gracefully change the parameter.
Store the variable parameter in a local/file global variable and modify the value in each step. This will, at least, keep the "function" the same for every step.
