How can I share a movie with my boyfriend?

I have bought a movie on iTunes using my Apple ID and have watched it on my iPad.  A couple of questions about sharing...
Firstly, can we watch my movie on his Mac? My iPad is assigned to my laptop back home, and he has his own iTunes set up on his MacBook Pro which we have with us on holiday.
Secondly can he watch my movie on his iPad?  His iPad is assigned to his Mac using his Apple ID.
Thanks very much!

Purchased movies are intended for your own use only.
In order to do what you want he would have not only to sign into your account in iTunes but also authorize his computer for use with purchased items.
However once he has done this he cannot change back to authorizing it for his own account for 90 days:

By enabling Screen Sharing in the Sharing preferences. Both computers need to be connected to your local network, preferably by Ethernet.

Yes. Go to settings on your apple tv. Audio video. Subtitles and closed captioning are in there.

You can export the tracklist from iTunes.  You shouldn't be sending actual music to them since that would be in violation of copyright.

    Hi,
There does seem to be a presumption in the other reply that your girlfriend is living with you.
A File transfer via Bonjour would then work.
Also the File Sharing in System Preferences > Sharing would cause her computer to show up on your Finder's side bar as a Share.
With iChat if you both have AIM Login names you could still do File Transfers.
(It is slightly more complicated if you have Jabber ID logged in alothough not impossible).

  • How can I share my music with my wife's account?

My family has multiple accounts on various devices (IPods, IPad) that share one IMac. How can I share the music on my account with my wife's account? My music doesn't show up on her account and vice/versa.

I'm sorry to say, unless you're using apples pay service, that allows you to upload your own music, there is no way to do that. I'm assuming that the music you are talking about has not been purchased through them. If it has, then you can redownload it to any devices from within your app.
I personally dont think its fair that you can't import music from your own online sources, but apple isnt in the busness of giving us what we want, just what will make them money.
You could also look into some of the rare apps that have been allowed to slip through such as 8player or vlc. One of those might be able to pull from your own online source, but I cant say for sure, and its unlikely is will work very well. I personally have started using a third party cloud service to store backups of my music, that might be something to look into.

  • How can I share a document with .mov files in it?

I have written an article using Pages and used .mov files.  How can I send the article so that it included "playable" videos?  When I try to share it publicly it turns the page into a PDF and the .mov become like pictures.

Do you know that the resource entitled Pages User Guide is also for you ?
Searching for the keyword export bring us to page #253 where we may read the description of the formats available to share documents.
PDF don't retain the movies attributes
    RTF don't retain them
    Plain Text don't retain them
The last format available is Microsoft Word and I didn't know this one's behavior.
So, I did what you were able to do by yourself, I inserted a .mov in a Pages document and exported it as a Word one.
When I opened it in Word, the movie was always a living movie but it's true only for MicroSoft Word. In clones, the movie is just a black rectangle.
It seems that you choose the wrong tool.

  • How can I "share" or "move" iPhoto content between two acounts on PowerBook

I share my PowerBook with my wife and we both have separate accounts. Problem is that all iPhoto content and iTunes content is on "my" account and she is having to switch from her account to mine in order to utilize content. I rarely use both applications so I would like to know if one of the following solutions exist:
    1. can we create one database that allows both of these applications to effectively "share" the same content? So, for example, my wife could download photos from her account as from my account that would go into one single database. (without taking up 2x the memory)? Would like to know if the same solution can be applied to iTunes.
    2. if no solution for option 1 exisits, can I somehow "migrate" all the iPhoto/iTunes content from my account to my wife's account?
One idea I have had is to simply synch our iPod on my wife's account. Theoretically, the iPod has all of the iTunes and iPhoto content and should synch up on my wife's account, right? I could then delete the same content from my account and then my wife could use these applications from her account. Is this possible?
    Thanks,
    Robert

do I understand you correctly that if I simply "import" the "Album" folder
    containing our photos
I'm not sure I know what you mean by "import the album folder". If you consult iPhoto Help, you'll see that albums (or album folders) contain no actual photos. I used the terms "Export" and "Import" because those menu options are how you get photos out of and in to an iPhoto database. The alternative is to move (or copy) an iPhoto database (see the various iPhoto Help topics under "photo library basics").
iPhoto was designed as a "personal" photo organizer -- it's not designed to be a multi-user database or a collaborative tool. If you want two different accounts to access the same iPhoto Library folder, then you need to put it somewhere where both accounts have access -- either an external drive (or partition) or one account's Public folder. You'll have to sort out your own collaborative conflicts, should any occur.

  • How can i share itunes content with my family?

I just got an iPhone and gave my sister my iPod touch. Is there any way can we share our apps/music with each other? I was going to use home sharing but from what I've read both users have to be on the same wifi network and we'll only be in the same house during the summer because she's in college.

Check out this Apple article -> How to use multiple iPods, iPads, or iPhones with one computer
You can create playlists for each device or  seperate iTunes libraries.

  • How can I share itunes music with others who use this computer??

I want to share my music with my granddaughter and she wants to share hers with me. We use the same computer but log in with different accounts. If the music is in the computer is seems there should be a way to share all the music.  Can we do that??

There are sharing abilities built into iTunes.  In the iTunes Help menu just type in "share."
I personally don't care for the way iTunes shares music.  I have taken a different route.  I use file sharing to share my Music folder with my wife.
From the Finder window right or control click on Music.
    Select Get Info
At the bottom of Get Info click on the lock icon to unlock changes
Under Sharing click on the + to add access to another user.
Select you daughters id. and add her.
    Give her Read Access.
Click on the Gear icon on the bottom and select "Apply to enclosed items."
Have you daughter do the same for you.  You will now have access to each others music.
There are several ways you can listen to each others music.
To listen to just one song I just use the Finder method.  Open Finder and click in the spotlight search field (upper right).  Type in some criteria (i.e. Artist, partial title, album name).  Files will appear in the finder window.  Select the icon view option.  You should see album artwork.  Move your mouse over the track you want to listen to and your should see a play button appear. Not sure which OSX versions support this (10.6 does).  Click on the play button.  If you don't see a play button you can play by selecting Get Info.  There is a play button in the preview section.  You can also play with Quick View.
To listen to a playlist you will need a multimedia player like VLC (google it if you don't have it).
From iTunes you can export your playlist from File > Library > Export Playlist... (.m3u works well)  Give your daughter read write access to the playlist file and from the Open With entry select VLC. (use the get info method)
Copy the playlist file to you daughters drop box in her public folder.  Have your daughter use the get info function to make sure her copy still points to VLC and not to iTunes.  If you open the playlist file with iTunes it may copy the tune files to her library. (don't want to end up with multiple copies of tunes on your Mac)
Double clicking on the playlist file will open VLC and begin playing.  There is a playlist button on VLC to view, sort and select tunes from the list.
    Phew!  Hope that helped.
    Dan
P.S.  Haven't tested this with copy protected stuff.

  • How can I share my photos with family with text to ID the photo

I have our families'  photos on CD/DVD/my Mac's but I would like to share them with the rest of the families by way of CD/DVD.  I'm also probably the only one in my family who could id the subjects in the photo's......how can I use text ON the photo so that they are ID'd for those photos I share with them.    Judy

Adding text to a photo is not a feature of iPhoto.
    You can do it with
Preview - already on your machine
    BorderFX - a free plug-in. (http://www.iborderfx.com/iborderfx/)
    or an external editor.
In order of price here are some suggestions:
    Seashore (free)
    The Gimp (free)
    Graphic Coverter ($45 approx)
    Acorn ($50 approx)
    Pixelmator ($50 approx)
    Photoshop Elements ($75 approx)
There are many, many other options. Search on MacUpdate. You can set Photoshop (or any image editor) as an external editor in iPhoto. (Preferences -> General -> Edit Photo: Choose from the Drop Down Menu.) This way, when you double click a pic to edit in iPhoto it will open automatically in Photoshop or your Image Editor, and when you save it it's sent back to iPhoto automatically. This is the only way that edits made in another application will be displayed in iPhoto.

  • How do I share purchased movies with family members?

Can I share a purchased movie or TV show with other family members NOT using Home Sharing?  Can I transfer the purchase (like a gift) to someone else?

If you've purchased it for yourself then it will be tied to your account - you can only gift items from within the store, not from your purchases. If you don't want to use home sharing (which you can use to copy content between computers) then you should be able to copy them onto, for example, a flash drive, authorise your account on the other computer and then add the film/tv show to its library via File > Add To Library.

  • How can I share a calendar with my wife

I got a family mobileme account. We each have our own iPhone. I'd like anyway that allows me to:
    1. Put in an appointment on my iPhone
    2. That appointment pops up on her iPhone or iCal. I would love it if it popped up as a grayed "invitation" appointment.
How can this happen? I have a gmail account, a MS Exchange account through my work, and we both have mobileme accounts. Somehow, someway, in some place, this has to work, right?
I've been working on this setup for days. It's 3am. Somebody please answer.

This is funny you said that because I was just coming in here to say that I figured out a solution - only to see it was exactly what you put: Spanning Sync.
My wife and I even have two seperate google calendars and this all still works. Google calendar has the blessed ability to be able to fully share calendars. That means, I have a "Work" calendar, which is mine, and a "family" calendar, which I set up to allow my wife to fully use and change. That automatically puts that "Family" calendar in her list.
There can be some kinks to this, tho. If I put something in my iPhone, and I want her to see it in her iPhone, I need to make sure both our computers are on and running all the programs. Yesterday, our internet at our house went down while we were both working. The calendar item I added on mine hadn't shown up because there was a break in the chain-links of sync's.
    *In Summary:*
    1. Spanning Sync can help do the job.
    2. If there's a break in the chain, your syncs won't go through.
    3. Doing it this way costs either $120, or $50/year for Spanning Sync licenses.
    4. The invitation system still won't go across the way exchange does.
    4. It would be much better if Apple would do this in iCal/iPhone.
*What would I ask of Apple?* It would be great if:
    1. Apple would allow calendar sharing the way google does.
    2. Apple would allow iCal to fully sync with Google Calendar so we don't have to pay ($12020 for my wife and I) to use a 3rd party app to do it.

  • How can I share shapes created with Adobe Shape?

You can access your shapes in the Libraries panel within Photoshop and Illustrator.  If you would like to share the file with another person, simply drag the shape onto your canvas and then save the shape as a new file.  From here, you can email the file or add it to a shared drive.

Your shapes should be automatically saved to the Creative Cloud.  I’m going to explain how you can access them below.
How to access your shapes in other apps
Desktop: In order for this to work, you must have the most recent version of Illustrator and Photoshop.
Open Adobe Illustrator on your desktop.
Open the Libraries panel (Windows > Libraries)
Your shapes should be present in your Libraries.  If you don’t see them there, select the libraries drop down to see if you saved your shapes in a different library.
Now, you can drag the shape onto your canvas. Or, right click and select "Use in document"
At this point,  you can continue working with your shape, by adding editing.  Or, you can simply save the file.  Of course, after you save it to your desktop, you can email, post online, etc.
    Mobile apps:
Open Adobe Illustrator Draw and open a drawing.
Tap the Shapes icon to open the Shapes menu.
Tap a library name to view the shapes in the Creative Cloud Library. Tap Change Library to select another library.
Select your shape by tapping on it.
Active Slide or Tocuh Slide. You can use Adobe Slide or Touch Slide to place the shape on the canvas. Access Touch Slide by tapping on the circular icon at the top of the menu bar.
Place the shape.  Once you have activated Touch Slide, you will see a light rendition of your shape on the canvas.  Simply double tap on the shape outline to stamp the shape in place.
    Web:
    Navigate to https://assets.adobe.com/
Select the Libraries menu item (left menu on the page)
Select the desired library (if this is your first time using Libraries, you will only have one).
This page provide a preview only.
Also, here’s a great walk through video that may be useful: http://helpx.adobe.com/mobile-apps/how-to/shape-get-started.html?set=mobile-apps--fundamen tals--adobe-shape-cc
