How can I share a printer among a wired Mac and a wireless laptop?

I find this extremely frustrating, but I can't figure out how to share my printer for the life of me.
My Mac Pro is connected to my router and when my girlfriend is here she connects her computer to the internet via my router wirelessly/WiFi. She has 10.4.0 and I have 10.5.5. On both computers printing sharing is enabled. Shouldn't one of our computers be able to see the other on a network? Or is there something I'm completely missing? All I want is for her to SOMEHOW connect to my computer so she can print stuff and I dont have to go behind my computer, unplug the USB, and plug it into hers. Even though I am in the printer discussion area, I even want to be able to share files too. It should be relatively simple but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do and I can't even find any sort of "setup wizard" that directs me in the direction to go. Hello and welcome to the Apple forums.
With regards to sharing your printer, you need to open System Preferences > Sharing and then tick printer sharing. In the right hand pane you will also be able to select which printer to share (if you only have one then it will probably already be selected). Now your partner should be able to open their System Preferences > Print and Fax and click the + button to add a printer. If they then select the Default browser view, your printer share should be visible. If it is not visible, then please reply as there may be other factors that are causing this.
Also, with regards to file sharing, while you were in System Preferences > Sharing you would have seen Personal File Sharing. Enable this setting so that the other Mac can see your Mac on the network. If they select the Guest account when connecting to your Mac, the will have by default access to your Public folder for viewing documents and your Drop Box for sending files to you.
One last thing. You mentioned the other Mac running 10.4.0. The latest version of 10.4 (Tiger) is 11. So, if this Mac is really at 10.4.0, then you may want to update it as this may contribute to compatibility issues between the two Mac's.

Yes, assuming you're running Managed Libraries
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

I recently purchased a mac pro and downloaded microsoft office but want to know how to share with other users on my mac.

It sounds like you installOffice in the Library folder in your account which limits the use of Office to your account.
If you would have installed it in the Library at root then everyone on the Mac can use it.
Not be a user of Office, I think you will have to uninstall it and then reinstall it correctly in the Library folder at root.

When transferring a project from one computer to another,to stop errors such as these, its essential to ensure that the project is copied with all the files and folders in exactly the same locations. Also before opening the project on the new computer, you need to set up a new project and set all the preferences to be exactly the same as on the first computer. Then when you open the project, premiere will find all the files in all the right places. Even then you may need to re-link some files. Just follow the prompts when Premiere asks "Where is file...."
We use USB hard drives to store students projects on and they are used on many different computers without problems, as the preferences are all set to be the same.

TS3989 how can I share a photo stream from my mac? there's no check box in system preferences to turn it on

I've been having trouble to share my photo stream with other from my mac. Once I selecte the photos and click share>photo stream, nothing else happens. The option for "new photo stream" does not appear, neither the field where you type in the email addresses from people you whant to share it with. I all ready checked in iphoto'11> system Pref.> photo stream and there's no "shared photo strem" check box to turn on or off... I also checked in my mac system pref to be sure that my icloud is enabled and it is.
If I select photos and then go to my tool bar and press share. the option of photo stream is not available.
I also can't accept any shared photo stream from other and view it in my iphoto. I can only access it via web.
I DO can use my photo stream correctly and share it via my iphone. and every picture that I take uploads into my mac and every photo I import from cameras into my iphoto also uploads fine into my Ph stream. THE PROBLEM IS THAT I CAN'T SHARE THEM FROM MY MAC.....
Please can someone help me?

You turn on Photo Stream in iPhoto's Photo Stream preference pane:
Check the box "Automatic Upload" to add every photo imported into the library to the Photo Stream. Or leave it unchecked and manually add just selected photos to the stream by dragging them onto the Photo Stream heading in the left hand pane.

How can I share my iTune library on both Mac/Windows on my new MacBook Pro?

I just ordered a new MBP. I have 15GB iTune library on my old Mac.
I'm planning to install Windows Vista and using BootCamp or fusion to use both Mac and Windows on MBP. I will use only Windows during work hours and will use Mac when I get back home.
Is it possible to have just an one iTune library to share for both environment? I'd like to update the library from both Mac or Windows of my choice.

Aperture 2,how can I share one vault with my MacBook Pro and G5?

I want to run Aperture 2, on my MacBook Pro and G5, I want to keep all images on an external Firewire drive. I would also store the vault there as well. I want to be able to have the choice to work on the my photos on my MacBook Pro, take the external Firewire hard drive with me and work on my photos, then when I come home I want all of those changes reflected back on m G5 when I open it, and updated the vault.
I this possible, if so how do I accomplish my task.

I want all images stored in a single Library that will be accessed on my G5 & MacBook Pro, but I want to create a single Vault and when changes are made to my Library from either system, when I go to other other systems they are reflected there, with a warning that my Vault needs to be updated. This is my goal, this is how I envision having both systems using the same Library and same Vault.

Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder.
Quit iTunes and log into other user.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
Select Choose library and select /Users/Shared/iTunes/ folder.
That is all you need to do.
Any changes in iTunes by one will be seen by all others (since you are using the same library).
All users will have their own Contacts & Calendars and all other info.
If you are using Fast User switching, you must quit iTunes before switching users if others wish to use iTunes.

Own a Mac mini with Mountain Lion. Purchased the server app. The Mac mini is connected to a wired network with Mac’s and Windows machines. I have an external hard drive and 2 printers connected to the MAC mini via USB. I would like to share these devices with other computers on the wired network. Although I have attached similar devices with an airport extreme in the past, I am unable to use a wireless router in this case. Any suggestions on making this work with my current setup?

You don't really even need server app to do this. Simply go to System Preferences | Sharing and turn on both File & Printer sharing. Then, for example, the printer (not relevant what connection it has but obviously USB is fine) will be available to everyone on the wired network.
That's all there is to it - unless I missed/misunderstood something re: your setup which seems very straightforward.
