How can i shut down depreciation for an Asset for few days??

Hi Friends,
How can i shut down depreciation of a particular Asset for few days say 5 days??
I have done the necessary changes in Time dependent tab like checked asset shut down and in AFAMA i changed the shut dawn as YES.
The only problem i am in is "how can i maintain the 5 days like from 10.05.2009 to 14.05.2009
If i go to MORE INTERVALS then only From date is available over there. There is no To date opition.
How can i maintain To Date??
Plz suggest.
Regards,
Sumaya

Hi
Go for shut down approach. But your depreciation key should allow shut down. check your depreciation key configuration
In asset master data
Go to time dependent terms,
Define the appropriate time interval for shutdown
Set the shutdown indicator
The system does not calculate the depreciation for the shut down period,
The useful life of the asset will increase to the extent of shutdown period.
When you remove the shutdown indicator, system automatically resumes the depreciation calculation.

How can I shut down the start sound on my IMac under OS X 10.9.5

Did you try using 'mute' in the System Preferences> Sound> output>
control panel? This usually will mute the startup sound; you may have
to try a few things to be sure only the startup will mute, not all sounds.
Of course, you could likely write an apple script in automator or in
text edit, that could automatically mute before shutdown and then
in startup items, have the script un-mute the audio for everything.
There are possibilities that do not include the command line; but
if you learn how to use that, without messing up other functions,
then even more custom control is possible in Mac OS X.
With that, you could write a substitute 'sound file' with white noise
or nothing in there; so instead of Bong, it'd be as quiet as a mouse.
PS: You may have a local reason why the site link posted above
does not work for you, but it does function and if the product is
free to use, and does not include adware or malware, here is an
untested download link from their site. (I can go there, easily.)
    http://www.allvu.com/index.php/sndownloadpage.html
    and note:
    http://www.allvu.com/downloads/StartNinjaInstaller.dmg is the
actual DL link for this product. Mouse over the buttons to see it.
(The other downloads are highly suspect; even this one is to me)
There may be a reason in your Mac OS X 10.9.x for gatekeeper
to not allow odd download installations, there is a way around
that feature, but I do not recommend using unknown software.
    In any event...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • How can I shut down iPhoto when unresponsive?

I have received a pop up window that "The photo library needs to be upgraded to work  with this version of iPhoto" as I attempted to download a photo from Facebook. I attempted to opt to "Quit" this option seeing as I did not plan to available as this update was being performed. I clicked onto the "Quit" button and now iPhoto is frozen, pinwheel reeling, cannot Quit iPhoto, no force quit option available. Afraid to turn off the computer (running Lion OSX) in case my photo library will become corrupted. Help! How do i shut down this app safely????

Thank you, i will try this option. Only thing is i did read another person having this problem and he did shut down his computer and now his photo library in unaccessible!!! Ugh. I do have an external back up hard drive. I sure hope that my photos are on there to reload into iPhoto!!!!
I did try to place my mouse over the iPhoto icon @ the dock and held down the control key with no results in shutting down the application.

  • How can I shut down my database

    Hi all
I am new to Oracle and am kind of stuck
I have built a database (as a learning experience) using DBCA
Using the same DBCA to Configure database options: I now get the message that the database is still running and needs to be shut down first.
Trying to login into SQL*Plus doesn't work because "a shutdown is in progress"
So I have logged in using "sys as sysdba"
As a sysdba I have tried Shutdown, Shutdown immediate and shutdown abort
Non of these commands work because Oracle says: "ORA-01090: shutdown in progress - connection is not permitted"
What can I do to stop the databse I have created?
    Thanks in advance
    Hein

    Hi rgeier
I am working with a WIndows platform
But Oracle is used within a Virtual Machine
You are right: shutdown abort did work
I have tried it a few times before and then it didn't
I don't know how and or why but it is shutdown
Thanks you for letting me try 1 more time

  • TS3533 How can I shut down my PowerBook wiyh retina display in case of black screen and nonresponsive keyboard after sleep?

Installed OS 10.82 and EFI update and put the system to sleep. Trying to wake it again resulted in black screens and an irresponsive keyboard: there seems to be no way to shut the system down in this case. My solution was to unplug the machine and let it blow the fans and run "by itself" untill it after several hours shut down because of low battery charge. After plugging it in again, it would start on key board command and now works fine.
Question: Is emptying the battery really the only way shut the laptop down in this case?

All you should need to do is push and hold the on/off button for a few seconds. It should shut it down cold.
If it doesn't you may have a defective machine.

  • How Can I Shut Down Pages?

Yesterday, I downloaded a document attached to an e-mail. It opened as a PDF and I simply read it. Then I decided to save it. Somehow I ended up in Pages with a drop down dialogue box to perform a "save as". I decided to shorten the file name and that's where it all seemed to come off the rails. I'm now in a position where I can't save the file, I can't cancel the operation, and I can't quit Pages. I've tried everything I can think of in the dialogue box (save, cancel etc.). I've even tried just turning the power off to my iMac and re-starting, but Pages and that dialogue box simply re-appear. I tried dragging iWorks to the trash bin to uninstall it, but it won't allow me to do that either. I also tried inserting the iWorks disk and re-installing the software, but it won't allow me to proceed because it says Pages is open (I know that; I just can't seem to find a way to close it as I'm in the middle of an operation to save a file). I seem to be in an endless loop.
Anyone have a suggestion to get me out of this and close Pages. I don't care whether I save the file I opened that was attached to an e-mail. I just want to quit Pages. BTW, no other functions seem to be affected, though there's always a Pages window open with the "save as "dialogue box front and centre over top of the PDF file I opened.

    Go to Apple menu
    Force Quit
    Click on Pages
I really don't understand how you ended in Pages to save an existing PDF document.

  • How can I shut down a stolen iTouch?

My older brother David sold his 4G iTouch to our friend Michael.
Michael claims he left it w his mother here in Oregon before he moved
Down to New Mexico. Myself and David's friend Meagan have received
Text messages from someone by the name Austin. Michael says
It's been stolen recently, so says his mother. David would like to 100%
Deactivate the iTouch itself before more people are disturbed. We have
All the iTouch information except the serial number. If there's any
Way possible we can shut it down, please let us know. Thank you.

If you had previous set up the FindMyiPod feature and wifi is on and connected and the iPod has not bee restored, go to iCloud, sign in and go to FindMyiPhone. Select the iPod and select the wipe/erase option. After wiping you will not longer be able to do anything with the iPod. If it has been restored then you also can't do anything.
    Apple will not help

  • Without jail breaking, how can I shut down all apps on my iPhone?

GPS type apps burn the battery and use data.

So disable location services in settings if you want to stop all location based apps.
You can also double click the home button, the press and hold any app in the recent task bar, and close them completely by pressing on the circled X in the app icons upper left corner.  However, simply having something in the recent task bar does not mean it is running - very few apps can actually do anything in the background.  As far as location based apps, if they are actively running, you should see the location services arrow in the top right of the screen.
Unless you are actively using a GPS/map app (ie. it is active on the screen) it should not be doing anything, so which app do you suspect is causing you a problem?

  • How do i shut down an old network and create a new one

I have a network that requires a password.  I changed the password, but people who were previously signed in can still access the network.  How can I shut down the network and start a new one with a new password?

Change both the name of the wireless network and the password
Make sure that you are using WPA2 Security
If you give the password to anyone, you should assume that they will give it to someone else.
