How can I solve these connection problems in Mail 3.2?

I have an iBook G4 that is running Leopard (10.5.2). I use it at home via an Airport connection and at work via a direct ethernet connection or router. I have the only Mac in my office. Within Mail I have set up my .Mac account as IMAP, and also import mail from my work POP account into Mail. Until recently this has been an elegant solution for my email needs (except for the fact that multiple copies of the same message from the POP account often turn up in Mail). The iBook still works fine at home, but now it doesn't at work. Our work internet connection is DSL and pretty slow. When using Connection Doctor, I can see what I have been experiencing at work. Usually the POP work email account is connected, but often the IMAP .Mac email account is not. The same goes for the out-going .Mac mail server. I have never had to set the preferences for these two email accounts differently in Mail to account for when I am at home and when I am at work. Could the reason be: the slow internet connection? changed settings for the internet connection by the cable company at work? something else? Any ideas would be appreciated!

    the isolation level of my date store is read-committed ,and the sys.ODBC.INI file is also set Isolation=1(readcommitted mode)

    I suspect this is failing on an UPDATE to the tt_03_reppeers table on Oracle. I would guess the TT repagent has to temporarily use serializable isolation when updating this table. Do you have any other datastores with AWT cachegroups propagating into the same Oracle database? Or can you identify if some other process is preventing the repagent from using serializable isolation? If you google ORA-08177 there seem to be ways out there to narrow down what's causing the contention.

    You may have a hard drive problem. When I installed Lion, the installer told me that it couldn't complete because the hard drive was failing (or broken, the exact words escape me). Since the HD had been functioning just fine, I took it to the Genius Bar, and found out that yes, the hard drive was slowly dying (bad sectors). I couldn't reboot into Snow Leopard, the installer wouldn't let me and then the drive just wouldn't work at all.
    I had to replace my drive and restore from Time Machine. Thankfully, I had Time Machine, and had just done a backup 5 minutes before the crash.

    1.It can be done.Convert the Smartform into PDF and send it through mail.Lot many snippets are available in SCN on how to convert a smartform to pdf and sending it through mail.Fax I have  no idea,but it can be done too.
    3. Did you checked the Print output? I guess it can't be seen in the Print preview but only in the output..

    I've recently decided that I am soon going to buy an Ipod Touch.
    So I thought I'd better download Itunes and have a surf around the different apps, I downloaded the most recent version and all seemed fine; I thought I would open iTunes (as I would since I just downloaded it) and it didn't seem to open, So I went and did something else for around 5-10mins and then FINALLY it had opened.
    So then I signed into my account etc, and I got some of my music on there, looked a bit at 'genious' and what that was all about, then looked at the radio (note the last two use the internet). Next I thought I would have a look around the iTunes store so I click on the little thing and it seemed to be loading fine; However it got to around 50% loading and then just stopped, the application completely froze. I couldnt go back to my music or anything like that it just completely froze.
    So I closed it with 'end now' and then after it finally closed I thought I would double check if it was working; So I relaunched it and it didn't seem to open atall.. I then opened it yet again and in round 7mins it opened up; However when it opened the store still did exactly the same thing and froze.
    I tried re-installing iTunes (and quicktime), trying the 'repair' feature; I've tried everything I could think of.
    Please help with the two issues (not opening or opening slowly, and itunes store problem).

    It's not just you, I can't authorise my phone. It seemed to go down just after I started the update (it wasn't my fault though). I am using chrome, and it does not seem to be a firewall issue, or the bannerblock issue that I read about else where, since I dont have that program installed. Strange though how the support forum is still running. If I go to http://www.apple.com/support I get nothing, but googling topics allows me to see em.

    I've just bought an iPod nano. When I first set it up it worked fine. I have the clock displayed on the screen but three days after buying it the clock had stopped. In settings the clock continues to work but when saving changes it does not update on the screen. Then, magically it started working again.
    Does anyone else have this problem? I have taken it back twice and all three have had the same problem.

    It seems as though the ipods all re-act the same, that the problem is in the computer. Make sure that the OS is up to date (WinXP,SP-2;Win2k,SP-4.) Make sure that your iTunes and iPod for windows is the latest version (iTunes 6.0.2, iPod updater 2006-01-10.)If necessary, do the 5 R's with the latest software. Do not plug iPod into front USB ports, use the ports on the back of computer. I find it hard to believe that 3 ipods have the same problem, so I would search the computer to resolve this. Hope this helps.

    Very simply.
    You have installed an application which has placed its own copy of the font "Lucida Grande" on the hard disk. This copy of Lucida Grande is causing a conflict with the Mac OS X version - Lucida Grande is provided and used by the Mac OS to display text in menu bars and on buttons.
    Open "Font Book" and locate the entry for Lucida Grande. You will see a black dot next to the name - this indicates that the font is duplicated.
    Click the triangle to show all instances of the font.
    Click on "Preview" in the menu bar and choose "Show Font Info" from the drop down.
    Click on one of the instances of Lucida Grande.
    In the info window, look at the entry for "Location". If it does NOT say System/Library/Fonts/Lucida Grande delete it.
    Do not, under any circumstances delete the font if the location shows up as:
    /System/Library/Fonts/Lucida Grande This is the Mac OS X system version.
