How can I specify which contacts group is my preferred/default for my iPhone?

Similar situation as others I've seen...
My wife and I share an iTunes account. We also use that account for our iCloud account. We want to share our calendar(s) with each other. We enjoy having access to the number of contact groups we've put together over the years.
I want to be able to designate one of the contact groups as my default reference for my iPhone so that when I recieve messages and calls they are recognized by the identifiers in my phone's contacts list (not as if they are my wife's contacts). Sure, we could set up multiple iCloud accounts... We feel we shouldn't have to, besides, that wouldn't allow us to share our calenders and contacts anymore. It seems to my that the most "Apple" way of fixing this would be to have a "Settings" option in the "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" - particularly in the "Contacts" grouping to have a "Primary Contacts Group" (if more than one is detected) option to choose from.
Is this something that can be done or do I need to submit this as a requested future feature to something like the Apple Bug Reporter?

How can I retrieve my contacts and pictures after installing iOS6 on my iphone? Don't call me stupid! I was relying on iCloud to have backed all this up, but turns out it didn't work. Can anyone help me get my photos back - they were of my baby daughter. Also, I've lost all my contacts. Please help.

Unfortunately no. The only way the phone backs up is if you make it back up. You either connect to iTunes and backup and sync, or you set it up for a wifi sync to iCloud. But you have to setup iCloud to start with. You have learned a hard lesson on how to make sure you import pictures on a regular basis like you would the digital camera. When things happen to the phone, this is the media that is lost the most (pictures in camera roll). After taking a number of pictures, and especially ones you consider important, you should connect the phone to the computer and import them, so there is a backup copy on the computer.
Contacts are saved in the backup as well, however they are really designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer, or backed up to iCloud or other cloud service. And, the only way to go back in time on the phone is to restore from a backup, but you also have to remember, you would lose everything on the phone that you had done since that backup, so it is a double edged sword.

That will work, but it is the long way 'round.
As Frank noted, Book Albums are just specialized Albums. Albums can show any Image in your Library, regardless of where the Album is located on the Library Inspector, and regardless of which Project contains the Image. You can put your Albums anywhere (in a Folder called "Books" for example). You can put Images from anywhere in your Library in any Album.
The easy way 'round:
- Make a new Book Album
- Select Images you may want to put in your Book. Flag them.
- Select some more. Flag them.
- Go to the "Flagged" container (listed near the top of the Library Inspector), select all, and drag-and-drop them to your Book Album.
- Repeat as needed, or just drag-and-drop directly into the Book Album.
Note that you can remove any Image from any Album (including Books) by selecting and hitting the "{Delete}" key. This _does not remove the Image from the Project that contains it, or from the Library.
Note, too, that once the Images are in your Book Album, you then put them in the Book you are creating for publication. The Book Album contains the superset of Images with which you populate the Book itself. The Book Album also holds the Book.

See if your carrier can do it for you. They often have machines (one of the brand names is Cellbrite) that you can hook the phones to and it will copy contacts from one to another.

I'm building a web app that will be converted to a smartphone app, probably using phone gap build. I began by using the jquery mobile sample which appears to work well. The app will display a series of phrases on the page in English and then optionally display the phrase in Formal Spanish or Informal Spanish, the user can also tap the screen to hear the phrase.
The problem I'm having is how to control whether the user sees the Formal or informal Spanish. I'd like to have either a couple of checkboxes where the user can select Formal/ Informal/ Both or three buttons identified as Formal/ Informal/Both, buttons would be preferable to checkboxes.
I set up DIVs around the Formal and Informal Spanish phrases and defined them as "Class: Formal" or Class Informalt" and thought I'd use Display:Inline or Display:None but how do I get from someone tapping on a button to changing the CSS so that the class selected is defined as Display:Inline and the class not selected is defined as Display:None? As this will be a smartphone app all I can use is HTML, CSS and JS.
This is my first app and I'm having a hard time getting my head around this.

Thanks for the js code. I tried it and am having problems getting it to work. You can see the webapp here www.pslt.biz/mobileApp/LE4/index3.html , Then click on "Age, Weight & Height" and you'll see the buttons I added. There will be multiple English phrases on a page each one having two Spanish translations, one in Formal Spanish and the second in Informal Spanish. When the user clicks "Formal" they should see all the English phrases and only the Formal Spanish phrases(the first Spanish phrase after the English), when they click "Informal" they should see all the English phrases and only the Informal Spanish phrases(the second Spanish phrase) and when they click "Formal & Informal" they should see the English phrases followed by both Spanish phrases. I have only set this up for the first phrase on the page, once i get it working for one phrase the rest should be easy....
I tried aligning the buttons underneath the page header but when I did this, using a Div around the buttons, the buttons disappeared and I was left with links in blue that were very hard to read. I must be doing something wrong here too. I really appreciate your assistance with this.
In case it helps, below is the code for the buttons in the header section of the page and the first English phrase on the page in the "Content" section of the page. Following that is the CSS which is in a separate file if that makes any difference.

I've set up WIFI sync and finally can see podcasts on iphone etc but my contacts and calendars are not syncing between these two. I have contacts added on my phone that are not showing up on my computer and vice versa. And I have multiple calendars on my Mac that aren't showing up on the iPhone 3GS. I have to sync my ipad 2 with all of this but don't want to do this until the sync'ing is worked out between iphone and Mac. Any help is really appreciated.

I used to use a a nokia but i bought an iPhone5. How can I save the contacts saved in the sim card to my iPhone?

It's really important since I can't save all my about 300 contacts again.

Several possibilities:
Transfer them from the Nokia SIM to your computer (you can get an adapter that will allow the SIM to be read by your computer). Then import them into a contacts app on your computer, and sync it to your iPhone.
Ask your carrier to transfer them to an flash drive, then import into an app on your computer.
Ask your carrier to copy the Nokia SIM to a nano SIM like the iPhone uses. Temporarily put it in the iPhone, then go to Settings/Import Contacts from SIM.
Carefully cut down the Nokia SIM so it fits the iPhone and use the import function mentioned.

on your Mac, go to System Preferences > iCloud
Check you have the "contacts" box activated
on your iPhone, go to Settings > iCloud
Check if you have the same Apple ID you use on Mac (if not, please enter the same ID)
After that, activate the "contacts" on your iPhone too.
