How Can I speed the progress of analyze/dbms_stats.GATHER_TABLE_STATS

When I analyze a table and its index or dbms_stats.GATHER_TABLE_STATS .The speed is very low,and I can not see the progress of it ? How can I speed it ? or how can I see the progress of it ? Thanks !!

v$session_longops is the table that contains information about long-running processes. You should be able to query that table to see how your analyze is going.
The easiest way to speed this sort of thing up is to have it do less work. If you're computing statistics, you may be able to use estimate statistics instead, depending on how homogenous your table is. If you're generating histograms for all the columns, you may be able to get away with fewer well-chosen histograms.

    How can I find the status of loading iTunes match?  I set up my iPhone 5S over 6 hours ago and still no music.  No status bar - I don't know if anything is even downloading

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    It shouldn't take anywhere near that, I'd try again, make sure you have a good connection.

  • How can i see the progress of import?

    Hi.
    Does anyone happen to know how you can see the progress of file import on FCPX?
    I was importing from my camera and after a while thought FCPX was done, so i tried to eject the cam. Then FCPX prompted me that it was still busy importing.
    Is there a way to see progress bars or something similar?
    thanx

    Press Cmd-9 for the background process HUD, click here.
    This should be pretty darn quick, but without knowing what camera and format you're talking about it's hard to tell.

  • How can you see the progress when using a ForEach loop?

    Hi,
    I have an array with about 100 containers in it. My main thread uses a ForEach loop with an inner case structure with six possibilities. My previous program had all the steps in a very long list, executing them one by one. I find this new approach is much nicer to look at, and easier to change, but there isn't really any way of telling how far along the test is (unless you know it by heart). In the long list approach, you could see all the Done/Passed outcomes and how many remained, now there is no way of telling.
    Any tips on making some kind of progress indication?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    As ObjectReference parameter, you should use 'Nothing'. The last parameter (synchronuous?) you can choose true or false. Please refer to the documentation of PostUIMessageEx for further information.
    The numeric parameter should range between 0-100. Since it is "Progress Percent", this makes sense, does it?
    The status bar has several panes, one e.g. displaying the logged in user or the used process model. The pane on the right most side will display the Progress Percent if used in your sequence.
    The default reporting, as already stated, includes this feature. So if you have a sequence with e.g. 500 steps, the reporting "will have a visible progress" in that pane (with less than 100 steps, it is most often too fast to see). Remember that NI Sequence Editor and the Full Featured User Interfaces do have this feature, the Simple UI does not have it.

  • How can I check the progress of sending attachments?

    Hi,
    I often have to send large attachments with my emails - is there a way to visually see the progress of a sent email, much like seeing how much of a download has been sent?

    Actually, in Snow Leopard Mail, I'm not finding this works in a helpful way. First, Mail Activity might show something but often it is just blank, even when sending a message. Other times it does show that something is incoming or being sent, but for a large message, it does not show progress for the message, it is more showing progress steps for each message - so you don't see anything change for minutes while the message is going.
    The Activity window is just showing "Sending message: Adding messages" the whole time the message is being sent. So that's pretty useless as well.
    Right now I can tell that my messages are being sent, but I cannot tell what % is being done. I'm not a fan of Entourage but at least there the Progress window very clearly shows what % of the message has been sent (and a byte count as well).
    I'm using this to connect to Exchange 2007 w/EWS.
    Would be good if Apple made this work better.

  • How can I show the progress of web page loading only in the right bottom of screen?

    When I downloaded the first Firefox upgrade that had no progress bar, I somehow found out how to stop the new progress bar (that shows all the progress in web addresses rather than a progressive bar) from jumping around in the bottom left or right of the screen. I had it only appearing in the bottom right of screen. Now a new version of Firefox has been downloaded and is once again jumping around from left to right depending what else is showing on the screen. Most annoying, how do I get it to always appear & remain in only the bottom right again.
    Thanks in anticipation, Katnko.

    Hi Cor-el, thanks for your help. Is there a help file anywhere for Status-r-Evar? I don't understand which way to set all the Options, as it is great having the green status bar showin once again, but I wouldn't mind keeping the name of the file that is progressing as well. Do you understand what I mean? Thanks, Katnko

  • How can we tell the progress of download of Lion?

    I purchased the app for Lion operating system, but I see no progress bar, etc. The tab says "installing" and I'm assuming it is, but I am wondering how long it will take and any other information as to what to do next. Any clarification? Thanks.

    Mark...
    Which Mac OS X are you currently running?
    You should see a window with a progress bar.
    The file is approximately 4GB. On a high speed internet connection, it takes approximately 35 to 45 minutes for the file to download in it's entirety.

  • How can I check the progress of a Loader from within a movie clip?

    Hi All,
    I have a Loader called profileContentLoader that I create in AS3 on the main timeline, I would like to check the bytesLoaded of profileContentLoader from within a movieclip thats in another movieclip....
    I tried:
    MovieClip(root).profileContentLoader.bytesLoaded
    but that doesn't work....
    Thanks for any help

    The Loader class uses a LoaderInfo class object to do its loading event informational bidding.  Look into the contentLoaderInfo property of the Loader class and then followup looking at the LoaderInfo class to see what you can make use of from it.

  • HT1390 I have rented a movie on iTunes.  It is supposed to download immediately.  How do I see the progress?  I press play, but it is not there.  How long should it take?

    I have rented a movie on iTunes.  It is supposed to download immediately.  How can I see the progress of my download?  I cannot play my movie at this time.

    Hi Bemma Bob,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article has some information about estimated download times from the iTunes Store:
    iTunes Store: Download times will vary

    If you were not able to watch the movie, you can report this to the iTunes Store by following this article:

  • How can I speed up the extract() function queries on XML

    Hi,
    Please I need some light on xml and indexes.
    This is my case:
    I use Oracle 9i R2.
    I have a table with some rows containing some few xml documents (each row contains a big xml document).
    Given a value for an attribute of a tag, I want to extract the entire section within the tags.
    Example:
    <MYTAG number="1">
    .....big stuff here
    </MYTAG>
    <MYTAG number="2">
    .....big stuff here
    </MYTAG>
    <MYTAG number="x">
    .....big stuff here
    </MYTAG>
    So for number=2 I would like to extract from the document the xmltype
    <MYTAG number="2">
    .....big stuff here
    </MYTAG>
    I created an index and have followed all the steps from the XML Database Developers Kit manual. Then I would use extrac() as the document says.
    Now some doubts arised:
    Are these text/xml indexes only useful for getting the rowid of my document?
    I mean, if I select 'x' from the table looking for some value, then the index is used. But when I use extract in the select to get the section I look for, the query gets really low, specially when xml documents are big. I think when I have only row with one document, getting the rowid is not the problem, but the extraction from the document is.
    Is the extraction process faster because of the index?
    For what I see, the index only helps me to find the rowid, but then Oracle has to deal with the very big document inside the row. At that point Its oracle against a big text processing and index has nothing to do.
    How can I speed up the extraction of the section?
    If there any other index or tool for help extraction to be faster?
    I would appreciate to know what can I do. I need help on this.
    Thanks in advance!

    Well,
    - What indexes, if any, already exist?
    - What do the functions rl and nice do?
    - What are the current query plans?
    - How restrictive are the various predicates?
    - What version of Oracle?

  • How can I add a Progress bar to show the "render to JPG" progress?

    Hi everyone, I have a button which renders my component to
    JPG.
    How can I attach a progress bar to show the progress of the
    rendering?
    <mx:Button label="render" click="renderasJPEG ()"/>
    public function renderasJPEG( ):void
    convertToImage( component001, new JPEGEncoder( 100));
    private function convertToImage( object:IUICompon ent,
    encoder:IImageEncod er):void
    var base64string: String = ImageSnapshot. encodeImageAsBas
    e64(
    ImageSnapshot. captureImage( object, 72, encoder));
    var variables:URLVariab les = new URLVariables( );
    variables.encoded = base64string;
    variables.type = "jpeg";
    var request:URLRequest = new URLRequest(" script_saveasima
    ge.php");
    request.method = "POST";
    request.data = variables;
    navigateToURL( request, "_blank");
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I would have thrown a prompt to the user in the renderasJpeg
    function and removed it in last line of convertToImage function.
    Isn't this what you want?
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I flip my iphone videos on my PC? My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion

    My videos from my iphone are horrible when I transfer them to my PC. How can I improve the video on my PC? Can I just convert the files to WMV? When the video plays the speed is off, it's half slow-motion and staggers into normal play. The clips are slightly cut as well, the clips do not roll continuously.  I'm taling about videos that are no more than 2 minutes long.  I'm frustrated and I could really use some advice-my kids basketball games is what I'm recording and I'm trying to send them to my family (they are not very tech savvy). Thanks

    Not it's only function but one for which it was most admirably suited, which is why I really hope someone can find a work around. I am hoping my post to the Apple feedback may prompt a useful response from Apple and I live in hope that my post here will elicit a useful response from another user. I did not miss the the text at the top of the feedback form but you presumably missed my initial text, 'someone here can explain' or my subsequent 'work around from another user'
    Just in case anyone reading this has a large collection of music videos, video podcasts or iTunes U then DO NOT upgrade your iPad to iOS 5. If you are considering purchasing the iPad as a useful mobile device to experience these media organised in your iTunes please don't as you will be wasting your money. (unless someone on this forum knows of a way to undo the mess created by those infallible folks at Apple)
    Yes I know it does other things but the purpose I bought it for doesn't work anymore

    Hi
    Time needed can depend on several things.
    • less than 5 GB free space on Start-up (Mac OS) hard disk = Redicolous long times AND a DVD that most probably will not work OK
    Medicine - I never go under 25GB free space
    • Use of strange file formats into iDVD - can force it to de-code first then re-encode - this can take long long times
    I use
    Video - StreamingDV as from miniDV tape Cameras - or QuickTime Movies Converted to StreamingDV
    Audio - .aiff 16-bit 48 kHz - (no .mp3, .wma etc)
    • Use of old Mac - My G4 600MHz took about 24 hour per hour movie. my dG5 - about 2 hours per hour (I use Pro Quality encoding)
    • Pro Quality encoding - takes about x2 to process a movie

  • How can I log the data transmission of my switch in a file to analyze the quality of my communication channel?

    How can I log the data transmission of my switch in a file to analyze the quality of my communication channels?

    A lot depends on what type of switch you have and what kind of communication channels you're asking about.
    There are several Cisco tools (e.g., "ip sla", SNMP-queried values, show commands etc.) that can give useful information.
    If you give us some more information we can help more specifically.
