How can I split a header in two columns?

Hello, for the past hour I've been trying to figure out how can I split/divide a header or footer in to two columns and then align text in the left collumn to left and the text in the right column to right.
For example:
| Header length |
| Left Align | Right Align |
The only solution I have found was adding a table to the header, but it has some weird padding underneath it, which completely screws up its position in the footer.
Anyway, I hope this makes sense and someone here knows how to do this.

You don't need a table.
Menu > View > Show Ruler
Leave the header left aligned and click on the ruler to create a Centred tab (if required) in the middle and a right hand tab to the right. You change the tabs by right clicking on them and choosing the orientation.
Then enter your text:
Left Text [tab] Centre Text (optional) [tab] Right Text
With Facing pages you can set the Left and Right pages to be different to allow the Page numbers to the outside or inside of the spread.

Sorry, misread the first time.
As long as you don't write to the body of the response in the first servlet, you should be able to write to the header in the second. So is your problem that both servlets try to write to the body of the response?

How can I see the heading of a column, whilst at the bottom of a document?

I'm doing a long list of expenses, and the headings are at the top of columns. Now I've filled in many rows, I have to go up and down the page to see the heading make sure that I fill the correct column in. Is there a way of splitting a document across the middle (or something like this) so that I can always see the heading at the top of the column even though i am way down the page?

There is a really simple workaround
Duplicate your table and, in the copy, remove every rows minus row 1 thru 7.
You will be able to leave the new table (name it "header7" for instance) at the top of your screen
and put the main one just under it.
Doing that, you will be able to scroll in the main table.
If the contents of the seven top rows may be modified.
Replace the contents of the cells in header7 by a formula looking like that:
A1 =mainTable :: A1
So the changes in row 1 thru 7 in mainTable will be reported in header7.

There are fixed format EPUB files as can be used for children's books, etc. where there are a lot of illustrations. However, those are very work-intensive to produce. I've never worked on one.

How can I split a backup on two hard drives with Time Machine ?

Back-up of my Imac with time machine is 1,3 TB. I have two 1 TB external hard drives but even if I had both as available in Time machine, it seems it doesn't allow to split the backup between the two hard drives. Any way to resolve this without buying another hard drive with more space?

You cannot directly split a backup. Your only option would be to open the TimeMachine preferences from System Prefs. and add things to the exclusion list for one of the backups. Then, when you go to do the other backup you would reverse the process and add everything else to the exclusion list and remove the things you had on there in the first place.
Seems fairly intensive though when you could just go and buy a 2 or 3TB external drive and do it all in one...Black Friday is coming up

How can i split my catalog into two

I am using PSE 11 would like to take 31,000 files from the main catalog and put them in a separate catalog. The files are all in a directory tree called Digital Scrapbooking which has 1,728 folders and 31,000 files. Is there a simple way of doing this? Alternatively would putting these files into an album achieve a similar effect?
Another problem I have is I would prefer the organiser to open with the directory tree showing as the default rather than the list of folders it shows at the moment. Is that possible?

Thanks for the input folks. I do a lot (and I mean A LOT) of digital scrapbooking. The files I want to put into another catalogue are all related to this. They are digital papers, elements, backgrounds, textures, masks etc saved as layered .psd, .png, .jpg formats. They are not photographs per se. I did have them in a separate catalogue at one stage but combined them when PSE11 catalog would do it's own thing but now with >30K scrapbooking files and >25K of photographs the catalogue is just too cumbersome and time consuming to 1. load and then 2. change to the directory tree I prefer to work with.
In case you haven't guessed I really dislike this version of the catalogue I much preferred version 9 and I don't want to go to version 12 and find I have similar or more problems. If I could use PSE without involving the catalogue at all I would but some things just have to be done through it which is a real pain in the butte.

How can I create a document with two columns in which the text in the left hand column flows to the left column on page 2,3 etc, and doesn't interfere with the text I want to place in the right? Pages 5.

I'm using pages 5 and want to comment in a right hand column, on a (latin) text which I wish to place in a left hand column.
Ideally I'd like to be able to copy and paste the latin text and see it flow over into the left hand column on multiple pages.

Columns do what columns do, flow from the bottom of the left hand column to the top of the right hand next column. So won't do what you want.
Your tag says you are using OS X 10.5.8 but you say you are using Pages 5 so one or the other is not correct.
If you migrated up to Pages 5 what did you do with your previous Pages '08 or '09?
Because Pages 5 is missing over 100 features, one of which is Textbox linking, that would allow to flow down through a series of Textboxes set up like columns.
What you can do is run the Latin text down a narrow document to the left and add individual Textboxes to the right and put your English translations in those. The Latin will flow but the English will not.

8/21/2006. How can I split a QuickTime file in two? I saved a two hour videotape converted by PYRO A/V LINK to iBook G4 combo into a file of 24.5 Gb, and I saved to QuickTime into 536 mgs. Of course, it took half a day. When I went to copy it as video (536 mgs) onto a CD of 700 mg capacity, Toast 7 said it required 1100 mgs and couldn't do it. I have QuickTime Pro, got just recently. I would be very happy to learn how to split it, so to copy each of the split pieces onto 2 CD's, for my own purposes. Many, many thanks. Chuck Yopst. Kirk, Thanks for your post Monday 8/21. Interesting how things worked out. I split the OuickTime file--of my retired uncle Church of the Brethren pastor's 50th wedding anniversary, and came up with two folders. Each contained four more folders, and inside folder Mvseg was file Avseq.dat which contained the video material and, when double clicked, started playing that half of the story on Windows 98SE. It just so happens that my uncle's PC operating system is a Windows 98SE. All this from QuickTime 7.0 which Windows 98SE would play the audio but not the video. Then a week later, yesterday in fact, in looking through iDVD help I found your solution, which heretofore I had no idea of. I had to go into System Preferences--Hardware--CDs & DVDs, and set these for "Open with 'Ask what you want to do'." The factory settings were to "open these when inserted" without that "Ask"ing. So then I was able and did follow your solution and it worked, but as a single QuickTime file, playable on Windows XP and Windows 2000 and Macintosh but not Windows 98SE. My partner has a works iPad, which has her works Apps on (ones that are specifically made by her company and are NOT available in the App store).
What I want to be able to do is to ALSO have my itunes account on there so that I can put all the apps I have purchased previously from my iPhone on it.
This is so I can put on VLC player (thats already in my itunes account) so I can add videos to the iPad.
How do I do this please?
I tried it before by connecting it to my mac, but it wiped everything off the iPad completely and also deleted the data settings for using 3G.
So I want to avoid this happening again the future as it had to be sent back to her head office to be sorted again.
Any advise please?

You can't. The iPad is desgined to be a 'one user' device and only really works with one apple ID at a time.
The only way would be if she, at work and with her work apple id, downloaded your apps (repurchasing them of course).
It's not meant to be a multiple user/multiple ID device.

That is becuase Pages 5.1 has numerous unnounced surprises for the unwary user. Among the surprises:
- it strips out images from headers and footers without warning
- it strips out bookmarks without wanring (yes, all those bookamrks you laboriously put into a document: poof! Gone.)
- it strips out alternating left/right margins, without warning.
There are many more suprises, as you'll see from glancing through these discussions. They fall into two main categories: things that are present in version 4.3 but that are missing in 5.1, things like
-mail merge
-meaningful Applescript/Services support
-non-contiguous text selection
-ability to set defaul zoom
-ability to see comments while editing
-ability to print comments
-ability to read RTF files
-ability to drag in hyperlinked ted from a browser
These about about 90 other features are gone.
Then there are the bugs. Hyperlinks do not reliably export to a PDF file any longer. There have been multiple problems with printing report. Some fonts place stray characters in the headers. Many reports of the program crashing, courrupting files, etc.
Fortunately for you, the previous version of Pages is still on your system. Export any documents you may have created or edited with Pages 5.1 (another great surprise: files created with version 5.1 cannot be read by any previous version of Pages: not just 4.3 but even 5.01!). Then trash 5.1 and use 4.3 until (unless?) it is stable and has a reasonably robust feature set.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
If you're referring to having an extended display , you will need to have an external monitor and enable extended mode by pressing the Winkey+P and select Extend.
If you want to split the screen to work with 2 documents or 2 windows at a time, you can snap the windows by pressing Winkey+ Left or Right arrow - check this article in reference.

Unfortunately, Firefox doesn't have a built in "tile two windows side-by-side" command. There might be an add-on for that (in a quick search, I mostly found add-ons to tile two or more tabs rather than separate windows).

Use different Apple IDs for iMessage (and also FaceTime) to avoid getting each others text messages (and FaceTime calls). One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (and Settings>FaceTime), tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. You can continue to shared the same ID for the iTunes store and other services.
