How can I split an oversize site?

Like many novice uses, my first attempt at a website turned out far too large -- too many large photo files that I later resized, but stil have the original 25MB files in the site folder -- judging from comments on this forum.
I'd like to split my site into several smaller sites, which can later be linked together. But I find no way to save more than one version at a time on my computer. That is, there is no "Save As" option that would allow me to copy each webpage or group of pages into a separate file. (Ideally, my home page would be a separate file on the web that would then link to each of the other pages. The only way to reduce size of the website file seems to be throwing away weeks of work, then rebuilding all the separate pages almost from scratch.
Yes, I have published to a folder. But I don't think the published files can be edited again.
Any suggestions?

"website1" whereas website2 has a long number code
for a name.
If you are still getting long code numbers for names, it sounds like you have not updated to 1.1.1.
I can drag and drop easily between the websites when
I'm in iWeb, and I can of course edit each page in
that context.
But when I publish to a folder, it publishes both
sites together, covered by a single index. If I
remove some files from either subfolder, won't that
throw off the index and make the system go haywire?
You can upload just one site to your ftp server. Instead of uploading index.html and all the many folders, just upload the CONTENTS of the ONE folder for the site you want to upload. It has its own index.html so it will still work. In other words, visiting www.yourdomain.com/index.html will forward you to the main page of the SITE you uploaded. Whereas before, www.yourdomain.com/index.html would forward you to www.yourdomain.com/SITEONENAME/index.html which would then forward you to www.yourdomain.com/SITEONENAME/toppagename.html

Don't erase them from iWeb!!! You will never be able to edit them again!
If you use the upload method I have outlined above, you could upload only the site with the pages you want online, and discard the other site's pages, which would be all the pages you moved to a separate site.
OR you could split your domain file. Search on here for "domain splitting" for more info.

find a neighbor with a DSL modem and ask him to
upload it for me. The only aternative would be to
upload it from here 1 Page at a time -- a 30+hr
process.

How can I import my iWeb sites??????

I had a crash trying to install Leopard.
I have reinstalled the original OS with my new Intel iMac. BUT - how can I get my web sites back into iWeb? I REALLY do not want to have to recreate all these pages! It's insane! Is it just ME, or is there absolutely NO WAY to import my stuff in the folder (which I backed up, luckily)? Or do I have to recreate the sites YET AGAIN? Is there no way to make separate web sites so that they don't have to ALL be published in the same folder and have to save and resave and resave EVERYTHING over and over every time I do a new page, or update or whatever. It's maddening.

I just checked it out and it sounds too good to be true.
I won't do anything with it until I have Leopard installed, but it's great to know it's there and the PRICE IS RIGHT!
Also, about my install: We bought a 5 pack license and made a copy for me. SOMEONE didn't verify the disk and it obviously had a glitch. When it was checked it got to about 30% and I got a message that the disk wouldn't work. So I clicked whatever buttons I was told to and then got the blue/grey screen. It sat there so long I had to turn it off with the button. Perhaps it was trying to reset everything to before I tried the install, I don't know. So, the problem wasn't necessarily Leopard and my computer, but the disk to start with and perhaps I compounded it by not waiting for 28 hours for it to fix itself <G>. Anyway, I have to kick myself for not doing a back up of EVERYTHING, and my famous last words were "Nothing ever screws up with a mac."
Lesson learned. I will have a 500G hard drive next week and this will never happen again.
I will also disconnect all peripherals as I saw some people suggested that was causing problems. But, what is MOST annoying after the data loss is all the TIME that it takes to do this. I have work to do on this darned machine!

Use different Apple IDs for iMessage (and also FaceTime) to avoid getting each others text messages (and FaceTime calls). One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive (and Settings>FaceTime), tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID. You can continue to shared the same ID for the iTunes store and other services.

8/21/2006. How can I split a QuickTime file in two? I saved a two hour videotape converted by PYRO A/V LINK to iBook G4 combo into a file of 24.5 Gb, and I saved to QuickTime into 536 mgs. Of course, it took half a day. When I went to copy it as video (536 mgs) onto a CD of 700 mg capacity, Toast 7 said it required 1100 mgs and couldn't do it. I have QuickTime Pro, got just recently. Kirk, Thanks for your post Monday 8/21. Interesting how things worked out. I split the OuickTime file--of my retired uncle Church of the Brethren pastor's 50th wedding anniversary, and came up with two folders. Each contained four more folders, and inside folder Mvseg was file Avseq.dat which contained the video material and, when double clicked, started playing that half of the story on Windows 98SE. It just so happens that my uncle's PC operating system is a Windows 98SE. All this from QuickTime 7.0 which Windows 98SE would play the audio but not the video. Then a week later, yesterday in fact, in looking through iDVD help I found your solution, which heretofore I had no idea of. I had to go into System Preferences--Hardware--CDs & DVDs, and set these for "Open with 'Ask what you want to do'." The factory settings were to "open these when inserted" without that "Ask"ing. So then I was able and did follow your solution and it worked, but as a single QuickTime file, playable on Windows XP and Windows 2000 and Macintosh but not Windows 98SE. Hi Wayne. Aperture and iPhoto differ in many -- perhaps all -- ways. They were designed (afaict) with radically different users in mind.
To move images into a new Project, select them, then execute "File→New→Project" and check "Move selected items to new project".

You are going to have to clarify what you mean by 'one signal'. If you can specify a multi-channel acquitisiton, then you should be getting back at least an array where each element in the array represents a channel. If you are specifying a single channel and getting back a scalar, you would need to call that three times with a different channel each time.

You can import the track into GarageBand and then split the tracks there. Once that it is done you can highlight the ruler section and then share the song to iTunes to get them separated out.

How can I split a header in two columns?

Hello, for the past hour I've been trying to figure out how can I split/divide a header or footer in to two columns and then align text in the left collumn to left and the text in the right column to right.
For example:

The only solution I have found was adding a table to the header, but it has some weird padding underneath it, which completely screws up its position in the footer.
Anyway, I hope this makes sense and someone here knows how to do this.

You don't need a table.
Menu > View > Show Ruler
Leave the header left aligned and click on the ruler to create a Centred tab (if required) in the middle and a right hand tab to the right. You change the tabs by right clicking on them and choosing the orientation.
Then enter your text:
Left Text [tab] Centre Text (optional) [tab] Right Text
With Facing pages you can set the Left and Right pages to be different to allow the Page numbers to the outside or inside of the spread.
