How can I stay logged into Apple Support

Is there any way that I don't have to re-enter my password each time I want to use Apple Support?  When I go to use Support, my ID is entered automatically but the password has to be put in.
Thanks for any advice.

I opened up Keychain in Utilities and double clicked on the link in question.  It opened up as shown in the attached. I then tried to click on 'show password'
and the top box opened up.  I tried entering my present iMac password but it wouldn't accept it.  Any hints at this point?
I do appreciate you hanging in here in what is turning out to be a lengthy thread.  Cheers/Bill
(I have blacked out my e-mail address)

    Thanks for ur answers !

You are correct. There is no other way to recover this material, and yes it would have been a good idea to backup the iPhone prior to the restore. Remember that a restore to a previous date deletes everything on the device and puts it back to the state of things on the date you choose. The texts and contacts would be gone. Did you possibly sync the contacts with a supported application on the computer? That is the only other way to recover contacts. They are designed to be synced with a supported application on the computer, or with a cloud service such as iCloud, Google or Yahoo.

You cannot remove any records, comment etc that already exist.   As Neil says, stop using your account.   Pretty soon you will fade into obscurity.

If you want to fix your Google search to a specific Google location, I recommend that you download and install the free plug-in Glims:
    http://www.machangout.com/
which not only does that but much more equally useful stuff! Such as enabling Safari to run full-screen, and more.)
(It adds items to Safari Preferences).
Not only does it already list a number of search engines and regions, but you can also add any other search engine not already listed in Glims by using the method described here:
    http://www.machangout.com/tutorials/addsearchengine
Just enter the name you give the search engine in the name field, and the URL for it in the Query URL field.
(Glims does not work with Tiger)

  • Safari... can't stay logged into sites after navigating away, or switching to/from other applications.

Ok so I have a Macbook Pro(2009) with Safari Version 5.1.2 and I can't stay logged into websites. For example.... If I'm logged into facebook, I then navigate to google and then back to facebook, I will then be logged out. Now before you say it, yes, I check the keep me logged in buttons on sites and this is not even close to being exclusive to facebook, just merely an example. This also occurs if I stay on the web page I'm signed in on then open up, lets say, itunes. When I then go back to the webpage, I'm signed out again. This is rediculously frustrating. It makes safari completely unusable with any application or with multiple webpages. I usually love safari and never wanted to switch to any other browser but I don't think I can hold out much longer with this. Also, I'm not sure if theres any other info that someone would need to help diagnose this bug but let me know and I'll post it. Thanks for any help in advance.

I, too, have this problem. I have used Macs for years and have never had this problem before. It has just started and I'm not sure if I did a Safari update recently which might have created the issue. From reading on-line posts, this apparently has existed for years and now it is just my turn.
Firefox works fine; I stay logged in on Firefox 'forever' but I prefer Safari. If it continues, I'll be using Firefox.

  • How I was able to log into Apple Support Forums (Finally)

To make a long story short I ended up having to make a new Apple ID for several reasons. Fortunately this was fine for me considering I did not have any purchased items or funds still left on my old account.
One thing I haven noticed which is a huge factor when creating an account for Apple with the capabilties of using the forums is that some "registering for Apple ID" web pages differ than others.
The most prominent difference is that one of the register forms offers a "Nickname" text field that is not available of some of the other forms. I feel this is the main culprit as to why users run into several problems when trying to log onto ASC. If you don't have a nickname, how can you possibly post or login?
I am posting this in hope that others can find a solution to why the log in method is not working. I've tried all the other solutions out there that I could find and my own research is what worked for me.
    Best of luck!

As I said: you don't need that name anywhere else - hence it is not offered anywhere else. But you do need it here.

  • How do I stay logged into my service provider home page.

I have an ATT Account and use the classic home page with the Firefox Browser. I want to stay logged in for at least 2 weeks or more, but each time I enter the Firefox browser, it requires me to re-insert my full ID and Password. How do I change this so I will remain signed in for a period of at least two weeks before having to enter the email ID and password again. I've added an exception for this site in the Tools section and it still doesn't work.

My sign in box no longer has the 2 week check box, how do I get it back?

  • How do I stay logged into Adobe Labs forums?

Hello When I first enter the Labs forums I put a check box
next to "Keep me logged in". But everytime I let the site sit idle
with out input from me for 15 minutes or so and I want to post a
new topic or reply to one I have to log back in! Each time the
"Keep me logged in" check box is checked!! How can I solve this? I
can't stand having to log in every 15 minutes---the site is toooo
slow for that. And I usually leave the site for at least that long
to do other work and to give others a chance to reply so that I can
reply and so on and so on......

    Kurt,
I thought cookie problem as well, but I have no problems like
this for other sites. So cookies may not be it. Thank you though.
    Daniel,
Thanks for the info. I understand the need to log in after
idle time for downloads and customer info/care issues. These
are/can be sensative and require som authentication for sure. But
is that level of security needed for the forums? I can see logging
in after having closed my browser and turning off my computer, but
If I have done neither and have had my system running for 8 hours
with out closing my browser It is a pain to log in 16 times during
this 8 hour time period because I allow the site to sit idle for 30
    minutes at a time.
Thank you for passing along my concern and for responding so
    timely. Take care

  • Cannot log into Apple Support Communities with Safari

This has just started happening to me in the last few days - glad I kept firefox on the iMac - and I see that it has happened at least once before in 2009 but the link to fix it does not work (and I have only letters in my name).
When I enter my log in info and press log in, it gives me the text below.
Looking for something in Apple Support Communities?
The page you tried was not found. You may have used an outdated link or may have typed the address (URL) incorrectly.
Please visit the main page of Apple Support Communities for links to discussion areas.
Once I see this page, when I go back to Support main page and select Apple Support Communities icon or Join the conversation, I get the same page each time.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

It just now happened to me too - even quitting FF and trying again was futile. I tried so many avenues that I think the glitch went away while trying this and that. It may be fortunate that Jive coders are responsible for the SiteWare with all the brouhaha over 8x and BASH hitting at the same time. My Aggies pulled out a miracle comeback this afternoon

  • How can I adjust contrast on Apple Support Sites, etc.

I have a great problem with Apple web content.  Even this attempt to type my question is plagued by the same issue: There is not enough contrast between the letters I just typed, and their back ground.   A big problem for me, as it seems the font color chosen by this apple web page and its background color chosen by this webpage, are creating an almost impossible eye strain and are terrible for people suffering from various forms of eye disease such as cataracts, makular degeneration, etc.  I am one of them.  I use Zoom for most of my computer work and generally can do everything  on my Mac. Except change this lack of contrast on any website created by Apple web designers.  Apple Update sites urging me to change my OS to Yosemite are completely  unreadable to me!  I need somebody to read its faded print to me.   I dread to change to an OS that I probably cannot read because some web designer who want to design a contrast combination that is more "far out" than the previous one.  There are millions having such eye diseases and computers are one way to let them enlarge and see things needed for their continued function.  Contrast settings in Accessibilty  Preferences do not alleviate the problem as they simply seem to make the screen brighter if increased.
Is there any Application that would let me change the contrast settings of a website designed by Apple?

Thanks for the hep I will contact the suggested Apple site.  As a guy who worked with Apple computers since they were black and white pack-backs its nice  to know that I am not the only one to notice that there is a big problem here.
I experimented again with the Accessibility Preferences/Contrast settings on my MacBook Air, and discovered that If I slide the indicator to the right to "Enhance Contrast", the opposite happens on my screen: I have less contrast so that grey fonts wash out into the white back-ground more and more as the pointer is moved to the right.
I never had to adjust the settings since I bought the MacBook with OS 10.6, and its function could have been reversed by OS upgrades since then o my present OS 10.8.5, or it could have been a problem since I bought the computer (used) from my Apple dealer.
I never had to adjust the contrast settings until now, since my eyes became weaker, and the Apple websites started using fonts of too similar a color to the background they are printed on.
So with that in mind it could be a hardware problem such as a reversed +/- wiring connection to the screen, a reversed diode on the motherboard, or a short in the diode wiring, a reversed OS code setting that reverses the direction of the contrast setting for its control.
It could also be Malware or a Virus, which has not been detected by the OS, nor the latest Norton on my Macbook Air..

  • Error when logging into Apple/Support/Discussions

This happens with every browser (Firefox, Camino, & Safari). I am using the default auto-login feature of each browser. This has been happening for about a week. Anyone experiencing this? Not that much a big deal... but... bug?
    "ERROR:
An error has occurred. We apologize for the inconvenience."
This is what shows up after I auto login...

    Hi Darksol360,
It's still happening for me any others, as evidenced by additional active topics in this Forum. So I guess not.
See this recent Topic HERE: Every time I log in and try to post I get an error message.

  • Can't stay logged in to this site

Couldn't find a better place to post this so here it is...
I can't stay logged into this forum from my work or home desktop. As soon as I close the browser, I have to log back in. I don't think it's a security setting because I have no trouble staying logged into other forums/sites on either computer. This is the only site I have trouble with. A search revealed a few people with the same problem but no solutions. Also, I didn't see a setting or checkbox to keep me logged in. Any ideas on how I can stay logged in? TIA.

This is surprising. This is the first forum (of many) that I've ever seen that won't allow me to stay logged in. Is there any good reason to do this? One of many Apple quirks I guess. Sometimes I wonder if they do some things just to be different.
