How can I stop a persistent pop up from "stopmalwaresite" from ruining my browsing sessions. I run adaware and malwarebytes every morning before I do anything else and no malicious objects are found.

This has started only in the past week or so and is so irritating that I am tempted to give up emails altogether.

That type of behaviour is indicative of malware. Try running some other malware scanners, they may pick up things that the ones you have tried miss. Some scanners you can try are:
* [http://www.superantispyware.com/ SUPERAntiSpyware]
* [http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/defender/default.mspx Windows Defender]
* [http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html Spybot S&D]
If the above malware scanners don't find anything or can't clear it, post in one of these forums for specialized malware removal help:

    How can I stop auto deletion of messages from my inbox?
    I've tried to fix this by changing the IMAP account's Junk settings so that they are moved either to the
    "Junk" folder on 'account name'
    or
    Other: (drop down list for choosing accounts and one of its folders) Junk on 'account name'
    I am sure I lost all of my important, not junk mail, amazon.com messages as well as other messages from comercial sites.
    Secondly: Please tell me what the difference is between the 2 junk folder choices above.
    Thank you,

  • HT1399 How can I stop my MacBook's iTunes from asking if I want to delete tracks each time I press to play one?

    How can I stop my MacBook's iTunes from asking if I want to delete tracks each time I press to play one? Is it a bug from iTunes's version 11.0.5?
    Since I dowloaded and installed iTunes' version 11.0.5 on my MacBook, it is behaving strangely:
    - displaying an alert message asing if I want to delete tracks each time I press to play one
    - not playing tracks in the order they're displayed in my library, sometimes jumping from one playlist to the other
    I did check my settings and preferences for playing tracks and tried changing some parameters in them, however it still doesn't help.
    It seems to be a bug in iTunes' version 11.0.5 — if you had a similar experience and found how to solve this discomfort, thanks for contacting me.

    Oui, je parle français. En fait, il semble qu'Apple ait résolu le problème auquel j'étais confronté car ce problème a disparu suite à la mise à jour logicielle d'après (désormais sous Mavericks).
    (It seems Apple solved the problem I was facing since this problem disappeared after I updated my software to/under Mavericks).

    How can I stop the iWeb welcome movie from appearing every time iWeb starts up?
    Oh yes and now that we are talking: when I plug in my ipod, I want iTunes to start, not iPhoto.
    Who knows these tricks?

    iPhoto seems to be viewing the iPod as a camera.  Therefore go to iPhoto's General preference pane and select No application in the Connecting camera opens: menu.

  • How can I stop an uninstalled application/process from using 101% of my CPU?

    A couple months ago I asked a question about my fans running loudly- which opened my eyes to the ability to force quit processes with the activity monitor. The culprit was software for an external hard drive that I was no longer using, so I uninstalled it. Problem is that my fans are running high again, almost constantly, and the process that seems to be the culprit is the same one from the software I've uninstalled. When I search my computer for any lingering files, none come up.  How can I stop an application I uninstalled from being a running process and overheating my computer?
    15-inch, Mid 2010 model
    2.66 GHz Intel i7
    4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 memory
    Running OSX 10.8
    screencaps of file search & activity monitor- the problematic process is WDSmartWareD

    Does the wdsmartware come with an uninstaller? Or specific uninstall instructions? Most software packages come with one or the other.

    Look on your keyboard, the top row of keys. First you see "esc" ... then directly next to the right are F1 and F2. They should have asterisk icons, one smaller, one larger. You can use those to brighten or dim the display.
    And you can set the Brightness in System Preferences/Displays using the slider.
    These controls only set the upper limit of brightness. They don't prevent the screen from dimming automatically. The Energy Saver setting will probably take care of the posted problem.

  • How can I stop my IOS 7 device from sharing my location with IOS 8 devices?

    How can I stop my IOS 7 device from sharing my location with IOS 8 devices? My friend who upgraded their device to IOS 8 said that I'm automatically sharing my location via iMessage details.  I don't want to upgrade to IOS 8 yet because I don't have space.  Is there a way to disable sharing my location with IOS 8 devices by default?  I don't want to turn all location services off because I frequently use Google Maps.

    Actually that's not true. I have a device (iPhone) running ios 7. My friend has an iphone running ios 8. When she clicked into her imessage thread with me, clicks on details in the top right corner it will show her my GPS location. It's doing this automatically because I do not have ios 8 on my phone therefore I don't have the ability to "stop sharing my location". Apple is automatically sharing the location.  If you are using an ios 8, apple automatically pulls in location data for anyone you are messaging not using ios 8. I haven't found a way around this unless you turn off all location services on your phone which is immensely disturbing.

    Well then you can not remove something that obviously has been removed
    Did you remove the references in the iPhoto preferences?  Did this eliminate the problem?  If so then you are done and your problem has been
    N resolved.

  • How can I do mirroring of a screen from new iPad to hdtv using apple tv and still work on something else in my ipad

    How can I do mirroring of a screen from new iPad to hdtv using apple tv and still work on something else in my ipad

    You don't. Mirroring is duplicating your ipad screen on another projector - so you can't have another app going on your iPad without it also showing up on the projected image. Some apps are designed so that you see a different image in the iPad than the mirrored out display, but even then you're within the app itself.

  • How can I stop the X509Anchors password box from popping up?

    I was messing around with some certificates trying to get Office Communicator to work on my Mac here at work.
    Ever since then the keychain dialog box continually pops up asking for my X509Anchors password. I know the password, my problem is that this dialog box continually pops up. CalendarAgent is the main app that keeps trying to access it, though others do occasionally as well.
    These are the steps I used to access the X509Anchors keychain and change certs:
    http://www.aikidokatech.com/?p=42
    How can I stop this dialog box from popping up asking for my password every 2 minutes?
    I'm currently on OS 10.8.2

    That entry in your keychain may be damaged. In the /Applications/Utilities/ folder, launch Keychain Access. At the left, the upper item selected should be login, and the lower on Passwords. At the right, locate (if it's obviously named), the item for X509Anchors and remove it. Close Keychain Access. Then next time you visit the site this is for, it will ask for your login information as if it were your first visit. Enter your info and a new keychain link will be created.

  • How can I stop those anoying pop-up ad's that pop-up as I move my cursor around the web-page?

    How can I stop those annoying little ad's that pop up as I move my cursor around the web page, seems like anything that is highlighted in green will trigger it? Seems it just started happening with the new version of Firefox.

    hello hamguy, this sounds like a problem possibly caused by adware/malware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].
