have opened the "Spelling and Grammar" -Ijust did it again and found 'correct spelling automatically' Ihave now turned it off. Ihope that fixes my problem. no, it has not , as you can see this email has the same problem.

It sounds like if you open Preferences in Word there will be a place where you can specify where to store autorecover files. Right now it sounds like it's pointing to somewhere that doesn't exist.

In Mail, the spelling and grammar window that pops up for correction when an email is sent is the size of the entire screen. How do I shrink it to allow the drafted email to show as corrections are proposed?

The size of Picture remains same .

If you do not want your software to update automatically, disable "Install app updates". But better not disable the option "Install system data files and security updates". If there are security updates available, it is important to get them installed asap.

This can be (potentially) done with a script, but a lot depends on how the file is set up. Without seeing the file itself it is almost impossible to say if it can be done or not.

It is going out to addresses I do not have in my address book or have ever dealt with. I'm not sure what to do or what software I can use to make these stop. Any help would be appreciated.

I doubt that there is some guy sitting there manually doing this with email messages, it is automated, and would probably take milliseconds to duplicate your email, append the canned spam message, and shotgun it back out onto the internet. I use my mac to write mails and documents in 3 languages (English; German; Spanish)
Now by defoult it correct my many english mistakes and typos, but i would like that also correct my German and Spanish ones!
Any "easy" way to do this?

Yes, that would interest me as well. I remember that Microsoft Word and Outlook could switch languages automatically or if that didn't work you could at least change the language manually.
Pages and Mail don't seem to have that or at least I haven't found it.

Basically the developer can fix this by digitally signing their apps. However you can exempt an app, in the article linked above look for the section titled "How to open an app from a unidentified developer and exempt it from Gatekeeper"

HT201320 how can i stop automatic configuration of email accounts on my ipad...the ports are not correct and i cannot access my email

i cannot get my "frontier" email account set up on my ipad so that i cannot either or receive email. Frontier says that the "automatic" verifying tool puts the wrong ports in and that is why i cannot get or send emails from the ipad. We know we have the correct name and password in but when in comes to verifying, an error message comes up and says "the wrong user name or password has been entered".
How do i disable the automatic set up of email so i can be assured the correct ports are enabled?

-Tap "Settings" app,
-Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" option on the left hand side,
-On the right, under "Accounts" on top, tap "Add Account...",
-Select one of the email service providers or "Other",
-Under "Mail", tap "Add Mail Account",
-A window pops up and enter your new email account details.
-Repeat for new email accounts.
