How can I stop babylon when I click on Firefox?
When I click on Firefox, babylon screen comes up. I don't want babylon, I want the optimum screen.
I have not installed any plug-ins and had been using Internet Explorer when I had AT&T Yahoo as my provider and used their browser.
See [[How to set the home page]] - Firefox supports multiple home pages separated by '|' symbols

How can i delete Record when i click on Delete Link.Manoj,
If something does not work then you should report back on the same thread so that there is continuity to the whole episode. Be as lucid as you can be so that people know whats the scenario. E.g. is not working is not enough. What happens? Does is show error , go blank, goes to another page... all that is important.
Its for posterity, down the line others will also visit the thread (may be).

How can I stop "do you want to allow Firefox to make changes to your computer"?
I started to download Firefox 4 and don't think it finished. Just downloaded 3.16.6 again, but when I open Firefox it always says "do you want firefox to make changes to your computer. Do I have to delete something and start over?
CherylCheck that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
-
How can I stop alerts when starting iPhoto?
It's so annoying - I realize that at some point I moved or renamed some photos in my library because I find iPhoto very controlling in terms of making it difficult for me to find things easily or separate photos into the folders I create.
however is there not a setting to prevent iPhoto from trying to sort of calibrate files - I get about 200 alerts everytime I start up the program.
Any suggestions or references much appreciated.1 - iPhoto is a database program as as such the organization and integrity of its data base is critical to its proper operation
I moved or renamed some photos in my library
2 - It is strongly recommended that you do not move, change, delete or otherwise modify any files within the iPhoto library - doing so may corrupt your library and lose data
There is never any need to do anything inside the iPhoto library - click here for a discussion on several of the many ways to correctly and safely access your photos.
is there not a setting to prevent iPhoto from trying to sort of calibrate files
iPhoto does not do any "calibration" of files - at start up or ever
I get about 200 alerts everytime I start up the program.
Exactly what are the alerts you are getting? THere probably is a solution but we would have to know what they are to help
Any suggestions or references much appreciated.
-- Provide the details of your problem including the wording of the alerts
-- Stay out of your iPhoto library
-- and backup often
-- read and follow the iPhoto help topics
Managing your iPhoto library
The best and safest way to manage your photos in iPhoto is by working with your photo library from within the iPhoto application.
WARNING: iPhoto stores your photo library within the iPhoto Library package in your Pictures folder. To avoid permanently deleting or corrupting your iPhoto library, do not attempt to alter the contents of this file.
It is a good idea, however, to routinely back up your iPhoto library to a DVD or external hard disk so you have a copy in case your photos become lost or corrupted for any reason.

How can I stop getting the error message of firefox not being permitted into a website?
Okay so yesterday while on my school site trying to do work and access my course, this error message popped up saying either my internet connection is not good, which it is working, or that the website is busy but it wasn't so it had to be with my firewall and firefox. So I went to firefox website to see if I can fix it, I did what they said to do and to remove firefox from the list of programs I'm allowing in and then to allow it back in. And it didn't work. So i updated firefox and it worked perfectly.
Until today, I tried to access my course and it popped up with the same message. So I tried to do what I did yesterday with removing it from the list and allowing it back in but it didn't work. And firefox is up to date so I honestly don't know what else to do. Can you help?Sounds like you were 'fixing' the firewall for Firefox access. If Firefox is working everywhere except your school website, I doubt if your issue is with the firewall.
Please provide a screenshot of that error message.

I have Firefox set to automatically look for updates then ask if I want to install them. I do this when convenient (may also need to restrict downloads on another machine when paying for Internet use by amount downloaded) Until recently it did just this. Firtefox 6 seems to have downloaded & installed (& lost all passwords & cookies) I assumed this happened when someone else was using the machine & said yes. It has now automatically downloaded the latest update automatically and the settings are still set to ask me first. What has happened & how can I stop it please?
-> click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Options''' -> Privacy -> History section -> '''Firefox will: select "Use Custom Settings for History"''' -> REMOVE Checkmark from '''Permanent Private Browsing mode''' -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Remember my Browsing History 2) Remember Download History 3) Remember Search and Form History 4) Accept Cookies from sites -> click '''Exceptions...''' button -> type the addresses of the websites from which you want to Allow Cookies to be stored e.g. '''login.live.com''' , '''hotmail.com''' , '''live.com''' , '''msn.com''' -> click '''Allow''' for each, one by one 4a) Accept Third-party Cookies -> '''Keep Until : select''' '''They Expire'''
-> REMOVE CHECKMARK from CLEAR HISTORY WHEN FIREFOX CLOSES
-> click '''Firefox''' button and click '''Options''' -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries 4) Remember Passwords for sites
-> Click OK on Options window -> Restart Firefox
Check and tell if its working.
-> When you use '''Clear Recent History''' make sure NOT to select '''Cookies, Forms and Search History, Active Logins, Site Preferences'''

If my network connection goes out briefly due to a problem at my ISP, FireFox immediately opens a "diagnose network problems" page. This is particularly annoying when I don't even have FireFox or any other software open. Ideally, I do NOT want FireFox to even check if my Network is connected. How can I stop this?

I tried to send a video in messaging lasr night and it's still sending. How can I stop it
I tried to send a video in messaging last night. It did not send. My iPad is still trying to send it over z12 hrs later. How can I stop it
First try double clicking the home button and swiping the app preview up to close the app. If it's still trying to send try a reset. Press and hold both the home and power buttons 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own.

When I want to return to my home page after looking at a website I click on the home icon and it resets the page to my home page but also open a blak tab which i don't want. How can I stop this as I have too many tabs open and have to close all of them.
You may have an unwanted extension that is modifying sites (or the toolbar area). Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that flush the tab?
Please report back on anything suspicious you find so others can learn about its bad behavior. -
