How can I stop being harrased for keychain passwords

How can I stop being harassed for keychain passwords?  All my key chain passwords and my login are the same. I am asked for address book, calendar, safari, mail, iMessage, just to name a few.

Back up all data before proceeding.
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
Select the login keychain from the list on the left side of the Keychain Access window. If your default keychain has a different name, select that.
If the lock icon in the top left corner of the window shows that the keychain is locked, click to unlock it. You'll be prompted for the keychain password, which is the same as your login password, unless you've changed it.
Right-click or control-click the login entry in the list. From the menu that pops up, select
          Change Settings for Keychain "login"
In the sheet that opens, uncheck both boxes, if not already unchecked.
From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ First Aid
There are four checkboxes in the window that opens. Check all of them. if they're not already checked. Close the window.
Select
Keychain Access ▹ Keychain First Aid
from the menu bar and repair the keychain. Quit Keychain Access.

  • How do i stop Mail asking for Keychain password?

I have my Keychain set up with a password.
I'd like to allow Mail access to the relevant parts of the Keychain WITHOUT needing me to enter my password all the time.
    How do I do it?
So far I've gone into Keychain Access, found my mail (IMAP & SMTP) passwords and added Mail to the list of applications to always grant access to, but it's still asking for my password.
Could it be due to my @me.com email? If so, what do I need to grant access to as I can't see any specific IMAP/SMTP me.com passwords.
    thanks,

how can i stop my movie for 5, 6 or 7 seconds in actions scrip 2.0 or 3.0

Look at using a stop(); command followed by a setTimeout() function call that ends up calling a function that executes a play command...
    stop();
    var stoID = setTimeout(startAgain, 5000);  // 5000 milliseconds
    function startAgain(){
         play();

how can i change an old owners keychain password into mine so i can update software

    Create a new keychain.
I'd generally suggest acquiring and wiping and installing the most recent version of OS X onto the system that it'll support, as you'll spend more time and effort undoing what was done before.  You can usually get the proper distro with a call to Apple.
Given the iBook is PPC, you'll be limited to Leopard (10.5) at most, and possibly not that version.

how can I see hidden characters for email passwords?

You can't.  Under what circumstances are you hoping to see the characters?  When you type them in?  You do see each character as you type it in for a fraction of a second.  But you can't see the whole thing.

  • How can i stop iTunes 7 for Windows from opening automatically whenever I browse my Music Folder in Windows?

Whenever I'm browsing through my files on my PC, if I open the iTunes folder inside my music folder, iTunes automatically launches.  If I close iTunes without browsing away from this folder, it simply re-opens itself.
edit:  I have no Apple devices currently connected to the computer and WiFi Sync is disabled.

iTunes app on the iPhone is for purchasing music.
The fact the iPhone starts playing when connected to your car stereo is a function of your car bluetooth system.
Consult your car dealer/bluetooth system manual.
I have attempted to delete all music from the device (so there would be nothing to play), but 1 song remains in the iphone memory and I have been unable to delete that song.
Connect the iPhone to computer and select it in iTunes.
Click the Music tab and uncheck Sync music.
Then click Apply at lower right of iTunes.

  • How can we stop generating spools for some batch jobs?

    HI guys,
Is memory will be occupied in SAP  during spool generation from batch jobs ?
If yes, to reduce occupied memory, we want to stop generating spools for few batch jobs. Please suggest me the way how we can acheive this.(Step details)
    Please help me.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Sahil

Stopping the spool generation for background jobs will not help you to reduce the memory load.
First check what is the total memory utilization and type of processes where the memory is being utilized more.
EWA can give you better idea to get the above details.
Spooling concept doesn't eat that much of memory what you are expecting.

  • How can I stop recieving notifications for shared calendars?

How can I "mute" my whife's calendar? I want to see it, but not recieve her reminders and notifications. She has the same problem, she don't need to geet a pop up every time I have a meeting.
Is there a way to "mute" shared calendars?

I have the same problem with my/wife's shared calendar and from what I've read in the forum and tried, there's no way I've been able to avoid notifications.  As I recall, there's a setting somewhere to turn off notifications on shared calendars, but I tried it and it didn't fix the problem (if indeed it was supposed to fix that problem).

  • How can I bypass the requests for my password?

I'm on a Mac Pro 8 Core, running System 10.7.5. My dealer originally set it up (years ago) so that I simply had to hit the "return" key every time I was asked for a password and this worked fine. Then, when my Mac Mail went wrong and I went through Tech Support, they made me create a password for the Mail account.
I'm now afraid that, if I do anything to the password situation, it will mess up my Mail account once mkore.
    Any advice?
    Many thanks,
    Harry

    Hi Kappy,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I have indeed written down my Apple ID and, thanks to you, now understand that this is a completely separate item to my computer password, which I guess is really knows as an admin account password as you point out.
However, my question remains: how can I remove the need to enter my password when I start up my computer, or, alternatively, change it to (say) hitting the "return" key.
When I first bought this computer, my dealer set it up so that the password was the key "return" and also I did not have to "log in" when the computer started up.
Could you possibly find a moment to answer those questions? I'd be most grateful.
    Best,
and thanks for your first response. Greatly appreciated.

  • How can I stop Safari switching off Keychain items I want to keep open? It's annoying!

I’ve got loads of passwords saved in Secure Notes in Keychain.
Typically I’ll open a Secure Note and copy and paste the passwords into a Safari page.
Now with Mavericks, as soon as I’ve pasted the password, the Secure Note is automatically switched off. I assume this is some sort of security feature? Trouble is, I quite often need to keep the Secure Note open for other reasons - so now I have to keep opening the same note!
Does anyone know how I can stop this?

Barney - I do value your help.
I’m particularly grateful that you have investigated my problem and have confirmed that A. It is true and B. It can’t be altered.
And I do appreciate that you have taken the time to look for a workaround issue for me.
As far as I can see our only disagreement is over your suggestion that the solution is to have separate accounts.
When I responded I wasn’t trying to be antagonistic - only to point out that in my case having separate accounts would be impractical.
My only complaint is levelled at Apple, not you! They have done something to Keychain Access / Safari that may be a benefit to others - but it is an irritation to me.
In an ideal world, I’d have an option in Safari Preferences saying something like: ‘Don’t let Autofill Passwords switch off Keychain Access Secure Notes after use’.
So, my sincere apologies if I have come across as ungrateful. I really do appreciate that people like yourself take the time to selflessly offer community support to people like me.
    Cheers
    Nick

  • How do I stop repeated requests for keychain login?

Every few minutes my iMac asks for the keychain login password - I enter the password and the box goes away.  A few minutes later something else (such as Safari or Calendar) asks for it.  This carries on throughout the day, the same series of items in rotation asking for the login.
My keychain login is the same as the computer login (this was fixed by a helpful Genius at an Apple store when an unknown login password was blocking the whole system - but now this has happened).  Has anyone got any clues?  It's just very annoying.

I *think* this has solved the problem - I'm not quite sure if what I did was what you recommended but I think it was (and I seem to have set up a Keychain access code in the process of trying to find the right folder) - I haven't had a pop-up for a while.
If that's done the trick, a big thank you!  (Lugging a heavy computer to an over-busy Apple store again averted)
