How can I stop conflict resolver to go on loop and mass up my address book?

I am using Mac for the first time, with Outlook for Mac on it. I sync via iCloud. The problems I face:
1. A large number (thousands!) of empty entries get created in my contacts on Outlook
2. I manually fixed this, but it seems not to "hold" for too long.
3. Some new entries duplicate themselves (65 or more of the same name with identical info on it)
4. Coflict Rsolver appears and asks me to sync again and again. It pops up and slows down the computer, regularly.
I tried uploading Plaxo. But that didnt help at all.
My Outlook is synced with my Gmail.
Can someone suggest a way of handling this mess?

iTunes, iCloud, Messages and FaceTime are all seperate services. You could change your ID for Messages without affecting anything else. If you wish to change your ID for iCloud, you would need to save your data, please let us know if you wish to use another ID for more than messages.

HT1043 My midi controller sends message thru mainsage to rewired Reason. How can I stop Mainstage from automatically sending volume control and other messages to Reason?

I have assigned the volume control on my Yamaha midi keyboard to a screen control in Mainstage to do a different function. But it simultaneous does my assigned job as well as controlling volumes of instruments in rewired Reason. How can I stop that from happening. I don't want any of my knobs to control Reason. I use touchOSC on my iPhone as a mixer. It also send all soughts of undesirable faders and knob massages through Mainstage to reason. I must point out that, I have disengaged keyboad control in reason preferences.
Every knob on any controller which is sending CC07 message to mainstage automatically controls instrument volume in Reason. Some other CC messages are also sent automatically. How can I stop that from happening?

If it's slow on startup it would be extensions loading or LaunchDaemons starting up.
You should have a look in:
/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/Extensions
You can count out anything in your home folder and it shouldn't put anything in /System as that's reserved for Apple.

I am making a program that simulates how to manage transactions when accessing a database by using locks. I have run into a problem and I hope someone has the time to help me.
When a user does an update the transaction commits and releases its locks when the program executes

I need to put a break in to stop the program executing this statement, to illustrate the lock is set correctly.
I have tried to put in an alert box but this does not prevent the rest of the java code being executed.
I have tried to use prompt boxes, JavaScript functions, but these functions cannot have any java code in them.
I have tried using the java.swing JOptionPane boxes but this didn?t work either
I have tried to get input from the user but I don?t know how to retrieve this data on the same page. (As far as I know you have to use submit and even refresh the page or retrieve it on the next page).
Does anyone know how I can stop the execution on a JSP page and start it again (on same page)

I already have another client (Tomcat jsp application) running and it throws a SQLException correctly when I don�t put in a commit=true statement and don't close the database connection.
But the problem is how to get the code above to stop to illustrate I have set this lock.
I have tried to use the JOptionPane but because my program is running in a web browser I cannot use the JOptionPane dialog box.
I have tired using an alert box but it executes the commit statement before the alert box is dispayed. So this does not work

See, that's just the thing...it isn't checked. It never was.
It just keeps restoring the home page bookmarks for Safari, nothing more. I just downloaded an update for the NYTimes app, and it made my bookmarks reappear on the home screen again, so the only thing I can assume is that these are somehow linked to my Apple account...only question is, why?

If you have previously setup some scheduled print deliveries, you will need to cancel these from where they were originally setup.

How can I copy a large number of contacts into a list in the address book?

I want to send a message to a large fraction of the people in my address book. How do I copy their addresses into a new list without doing it by hand?

Thanks for your answer. It works very poorly. I have tried a number of permutations, and each one fails in some way. If I try to copy ten names, it may just write the first few. if I highlight all the names in the source book, then the list name doesn't highlight when I move my cursor over it - only the other address books do that. I got the closest to success by exporting my entire source address book to a text file, removing the unwanted names by hand, and then importing only a few fields to a new address book - name and email address. When I highlight all the entries in this new address book and drag them to the target list, it copies MOST but not all of the entries. I have never seen drag and drop work so poorly. Any ideas?

Launch Mail.
Mail > Preferences > Accounts > Advanced
Uncheck the box beside "Include when automatically checking for new messages".
Do it for all accounts if you want.

I have the same question - how to synch, say, just one playlist.
There is an option to synch only things that are checked. But everything (in every playlist and item, is checked and there doesn't appear to be a box to "uncheck all", nor can you check each playlist individually.

I have Windows XP. Firefox updated to version 6 automatically even though I have it set to notify and ask. Also just automatically updated again. How can I stop this?

I have Firefox set to automatically look for updates then ask if I want to install them. I do this when convenient (may also need to restrict downloads on another machine when paying for Internet use by amount downloaded) Until recently it did just this.
