How can I STOP Firefox from automatically resuming a discontinued download, from a previous session, when I resume using Firefox?
Firefox automatically resumes ANY and ALL discontinued downloads whenever I get back online. Sometimes, a file is loading way too slowly, and I just want it to stop. Firefox NEVER permits this. The damn thing just starts reloading again, even days after I originally abandoned it.
The default is to pause a download and resume the download automatically the next time.
You can set the browser.download.manager.quitBehavior pref to 2 on the about:config page.
That will make Firefox ask for confirmation if you want to cancel the download when you close Firefox.

Recently, FF has started opening my last tabs when I start a fresh session. I have already checked to make sure that none of the applicable settings are enabled, such as under Options->General: When FF starts "SHOW MY HOMEPAGE" is selected. But for some reason, it opens my last session. The only way I've been able to get it to stop doing this is by having it delete my browsing history after I close the session. I don't want this since I often use my history to re-find information I need for class research. I have made certain that all my settings are the same from before FF started doing this. It only started doing this after the computer was turned off for a long weekend.
I've already searched through the Mozilla help pages and all I can find is how to restore the previous session or similar. I don't want to restore my previous session, I want it to stop restoring my previous session without having to delete my browsing history each time.Using the instructions here:

How do I stop safari from reopening previous sessions even after restart?
Finally made the leap to Lion.
WHY does safari insist on starting up and restoring the previous session, all tabs and everything even after a restart. I've looked in preferences and for the life of me cannot find how/where to turn this off. I just want Safari to start with a blank page, not reloading the previous page/tabs I had open the last time I used it!Thanks QuickTimeKirk for the solution to this - have hated this feature as the default. It is useful if you want to return to something specific, but I reckon the majority of users would rather have the defaults the other way around - homepage as default for new Safari sessions and using the shift key when opening to return to last viewed pages/tabs.

How can I stop iTunes from synching multiple times when I plug in my iPhone
Since the new iTunes 11.1.1 (11) itunes will not stop synching whenever my IPhone is plugged in.
I have used Disk Repair to reset permissions several times, and there is always a long list of iTunes items, nothng else.
That does not change anything.
Honestly I wish there was a different app to manage IPhone, ITunes from day 1 (ten years ago) has always had bugs or irritating features.Hi kenfromrapid city!

How can I stop you from blocking a page when it doesn't need to be blocked
When I try setting up the new myyahoo page, you have a shield blocking the page, but when I try to tell you to stop blocking, your page comes up with checking certificate to allow exception, but then after checking it tells me it has a valid certificate and does need an exception, but you still keep blocking. I need you to stop blocking my yahoo so I can set up the page as it was before switching to the newest version. If this can't be fixed, I will have to stop using Mozilla. I know this is set up as a safety for me, but it's not working. This page has a valid certificate, so you shouldn't be blocking it.
Hi widowward, is the certificate error for the main page or for something embedded in the page?
If you right-click the error part, do you find "This Frame" on the right-click menu? If so, please expand "This Frame" and use Open in a New Tab. Then copy the address from the address bar and paste it back here in a reply. (I'll try to get back to you more promptly, so go ahead and leave that tab open.)
If the error is for My Yahoo itself, that's strange. If you expand the sections of the error page, what is the technical explanation? If you try the Add Exception dialog and view the certificate, do you see a different issuer than I see (attached)? -
How can I stop Exchange from including previous text in message replies?
This is an issue because many people use "reply to" from their iPhone and the previous messages are included at the bottom of the message. But they are not aware of the earlier messages. Now and again, especially when we have several ".cc" persons, a confidential discussion is messaged out to people who do not need to have it. In Outlook Exchange on my PC, I have this turned off. This means that when I want to include the original message, I select and copy it, then paste it at the bottom of the new message. That is much more secure.
In Nokia Symbian it was possible to leave out the original message. Can the iPhone do this?

Probably the theme you are using does not support tit - try a different theme - as I said originally
Pre Crop to 4:3 (the frame ratio for books) or in most themes right click on the placed photo and select fit to frame to use background color film rather than cropping

It's not a good idea to allow websites to redirect to another site until you know for sure the original site is trustworthy.
But if you still want to do it (again not a good idea).
Tools>Options>Advanced>General - In Accessibility, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect..." option. -

I had Opera set as my default browser since this began happening. I changed my default browser back to Firefox mainly because having Firefox open one or two seconds every time I open Opera was/is such a nuisance.
I believe this problem began because I attempted to manually transfer the files from my old computer to the new one (via the backed up files in my external drive). I was unfamiliar with Windows 7 when I did this. Microsoft changed the file set up from what I had been used to in Windows XP. I used XP for six years before being exposed to Windows 7 (I never had Vista).
I'm almost sure this problem has something to do with where I placed the application data when I was trying to reestablish the program set up on the new computer. -
How can I STOP iTunes from automatically trying to add podcasts to my iPod when I plug it in and sync it, so I can manage the files? I have already unchecked "Sync Podcasts" and "Automatically include,"yet EVERY time I sync it,it still transfers podcasts as the last step, and at other times randomly, when trying to just add some MP3's to a playlist, for example. I can't seem to find any other option to uncheck, and can't find an answer from my so-far internet searching.
erict, you blew me away with that suggestion! It was something so simple I couldnt believe I hadnt thought of it! But in the end it didn't work, which I was really surprised about. On Windows anytime anything was moved itunes was hoplessly lost, but on this mac it still kept up with everything. I tried renaming folders, moving folders, and even renaming moved folders but it still kept trying to import.
I even went as far as deleting EVERYTHING i had moved to the Mac, which didnt really work. It still kept trying to import what wasnt there which made it continue to freeze up. However, after doing this it, the freezing was not nearly as bad. It gave me enough of a break to cancel it through the itunes dialog box at the top of the app. So in the end, thats all I really needed to do, only before I had deleted everything the freezing would not allow me to do it.
So now Im reimporting everything again, only slowly, and only a few Artists at a time. -

Clicking on File/Page Preview in Firefox 4 brings up a warning dialog "The document cannot change while Printing or in Print Preview" every time. How can I stop this from happening? It is very annoying, and it is necessary to click "OK" on this dialog twice before it will go away. Thank you.
