Mac OSX v. 10.6.7, 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo, usb 2TB WD external HD
ever since my last update for itunes, whenever i add music, it is taking 10x longer to add the files and i get pinwheels for over a minute. for example, i added a 9 track album and it took almost 7 minutes to complete the adding of the files. it has never taken this long. any help??

long shot but try for good measure:
check if you have read & write permissions for your music folder. in the finder, right-click on it and get info. unlock the little padlock (you may have to enter your admin password) and change the permission settings. next, click on the little gear-shaped icon and apply to enclosed items like so
the important part is to apply to enclosed items !

I put 'I' in the topic for brevity but it's actually my wife who gets emails every time either of us adds or edits events, whether we do it in iCal on either of our Macs or in Calendar on our iOS devices. Presumably this is to do with a setting in iCloud somewhere, but I've searched high and low and can’t find it. I've also compared settings on our Macs and phones and can't find anything that could be the culprit. It's driving her nuts!
For more information, we share all our calendars so that either of us read and write any of them, and we're both on iOS 5.1 on our iPhones (hers is a 3GS, mine's a 4), and we're both on Mac OS X 10.7.3 Lion (2010 27" iMac and 2011 MacBook Pro respectively).

this seems to be a new "bug" on iCloud. It's happened to many users (judging by the posts here). My wife and I have one shared calendar and we've been happily using it without the email problems (because I had set iCloud NOT to email us whenever an event changed - this was done at icloud.com, a setting there). Recently we began getting emails. I suspect a change in iCloud that was in error, because I just checked my setting and the option to have an email sent when an event changes is not checked.

Shared Reminders: How do I stop getting emails when changes are made?

My wife and I both have iPhone 5's that we bought 2 weeks ago. We are sharing a calendar and a "Grocery" list in reminders. I have everything set up where it is working properly but I keep getting emails when a change is made to the grocery list. I don't get emails when there are changes to the calendar.
I want to stop getting emails when there are changes made to our grocery list but I am not sure how to do it. We both have icloud accounts and we both have checked the box under preferences in my calendar for "in app notifications" for icloud invitations. When I open Reminders in icloud I don't see a preferences for reminders.
If it helps , or makes any difference, my wife has a yahoo mail account and I have a hotmail account. She does not get emails about changes being made.

Did you try to switch Push "off" and fetch to "manually"? This way no mail is delivered until you choose to open the mail app. The moment you open Mail on your device, your mail account will be checked and if any, mail will be delivered.
Fetch New Data
This setting lets you turn Push on or off for MobileMe, Microsoft Exchange, Yahoo!, and any other push accounts on iPhone. Push accounts deliver new information to iPhone whenever new information appears on the server (some delays may occur). You might want to turn Push off to suspend delivery of email and other information, or to conserve battery life.
When Push is off, and with accounts that don’t support push, data can still be fetched—that is, iPhone can check with the server and see if new information is available. Use the Fetch New Data setting to determine how often data is requested. For optimal battery life, don’t fetch too often.
Turn Push on: Choose “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” > Fetch New Data, then tap to turn Push on.

As the title states I need to stop getting **** messages in iMessage on my phone. I can tell because they start with a number like 906.xx, not a phone number.
This may not be possible to stop but catch before I open
Has anyone else run into this issue and if so what have you don't to attempt to stop it.

at the top page of Messages on my phone there is no color code, it's all just grey text, I do not click open the message, I swipe left and delete but this has happened several times this month.
I done not visit those types of sights on my phone or my MBP
It's been suggested that there is a robot dialing random numbers, but to get three in a month make me wonder.

It could be a Ubuntu Studio sound preference. You may have to turn off mouse click sound effects in the system.

It is a new security feature after the iCloud was compromised for some people. If you are getting this when logging into the Find My iPhone app on the phone, then if you do not log out and set a passcode on the phone, you should not receive this again. As far as I know, and I've not tested this because I do not receive the emails is when you log in on the computer, most people report that if you log in on the same computer again, it will not generate an email. Seems like it might put a cookie on the computer to recognize that you have logged in with that computer before.

How do I stop duplicating files when I "add to library" ?

I have a folder on an external hard drive containing 20,000 songs. "When I Add To Library" 5,500 get duplicated. I have unchecked the copy files to iTunes Media folder and this still happens. Every file shows the exact same date added. I have never had this problem in the past. I syncronized the hard drive with external library from my lap top, created a new library on the iMac and then Add To Library, the entire folder.
The backup folder does not show all these duplicates. I have thrown out the folder and recopied it from the backup. It looks fine until I try to Add To Library. Then 1/4 of my tracks get duplicated. Most of these are recent purchases, but not all of them.

What exactly are you doing. You never "upload" a library into iPhoto. You import photos (never a library) into iPhoto
And for many reasons I would never import 75,000 in one import. Do a thousand or a few thousand at a time

I am just beginning to get the idea that updated Foxit software is not the same as am updated Foxit plugin for Firefox. Firefox is telling me that I have a Foxit plugin installed, v. 2.2.3.111, but I am not sure how current that is.

Ive been having a problem with AA3 since I installed it and I cant seem to figure it out. It doesnt happen everytime, but usually when I open AA3, load or start a session, and press the play or record button, AA3 crashes giving me the following error message.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can stop this from happening? It makes doing projects in AA3 extremely nerve wracking, never knowing if it could crash in the next second. And especially when you cant get the project to load up without crashing, extremely embarrasing when there is a band with me.

Yes. You can only use an ASIO driver (which is what Audition now uses) with one program at a time. I suspect that when Audition opens, it finds what it thinks is a legitimate device, but no legitimate means of accessing it. You can't blame Adobe either - this is purely an ASIO limitiation, and Adobe only introduced ASIO because people clamoured for it for years (most of them not realising the downside to it).

might find that you can get around this by using the (free)
ASIO4ALL driver, which converts Audition's ASIO output to WMD, which has rather less problems from this POV.
