How can I stop iCloud from wanting me to log in everytime I wake the phone?

Since the last OS update, my iPhone keeps asking me to sign in to iCloud when I fire it up EVERY time.  I did this a few times but get tired of it.  Is there any way to either get it to accept my sign in as the norm or to just quit asking?  Thanks.

  • How can i stop icloud from sending me a e-mail everytime I write or update a note on my iphone???

Every time I make a new note, or even when I simply update an existing note (this can be a minor change such as one letter) an email is sent to my Gmail. It never shows as an unread new email in my inbox, but it's there, in my "All mail" folder. I now have thousands of e-mails sent from "me" with a copy of each note I've written and updated, even if it's a minor change. This is ridiculous. Who the **** thought of this absurd system? Why on earth would I want to keep track of every minor change I make?
It is preposterous to see that Apple (and other companies with "cloud" servers) are keeping track of ALL the information we type in our phones. Nothing is private anymore, nothing is truly ours. Thank you "cloud" for stripping us from our privacy and freedom and for making Orwell's vision become reality. I've always wanted a big brother... Everything might be going up in the cloud, but hopefully it will rain a lot, soon. We have to find a way to bring the personal computer back.
Anyway, please let me know how I can disconnect myself from iCloud, I just like using Google drive from time to time to store certain notes and documents.
    Thank you,
    -Julien A6

    Hey there,
Unfortunately this issue is going to have to be addressed on the iphone senders end. They will need to turn on "send as SMS" in their settings of their iPhones because when an iMessage fails, it should send SMS and get to your android.
Also, rumor has it updating to iOS 7.1.1 on the other iPhones will clear the system as well but as long as you've already called AppleCare and they degregistered your number from iMessage, you should be good.
    Hope this helps

    Hi iprover,
Let me first say that I am NO EXPERT with anything Apple and really have only started looking into this iCloud stuff a few hours ago because I'm trying to help my mom free up some space on her iCloud. But anyway, here's what I'm learning and what I THINK might be happening to you.
Also, if any Apple support people (do they browse the forums to dish out helpful hints?) or people who probably know infinitely more than me about this stuff, please do chime in and confirm / correct my statements!
    This is what I gather.
iCloud for Windows is set up with a local folder (let's call it "C:\Users\Administrator\Pictures\iCloud Photos\My Photo Stream") where iCloud will store photos uploaded to the Photo Stream. This will allow you to view your Photo Stream photos on your PC.
This does not mean that this is a PC backup of your Photo Stream photos, but just a way to view your Photo Stream from your PC. That being said, the general Photo Stream rules apply: 1. No videos are on the photo-stream, and 2. Photos on the Photo Stream will be removed after ~30 days and/or after hitting the Photo Stream limit of 1000 photos.
My guess is that the iCloud Windows App will delete photos from the local folder that are older than ~30 days and/or delete all but the most recent 1000 items if the 1000-item limit is reached.
That is a scary thought! I really hope you did not lose all your pictures, but my guess is that the iCloud local folder is NOT meant for backup but instead is the iCloud Windows App's sandbox for updating and managing Photo Stream photos.
All that being said, I'd say it's important to back up your photos in a separate folder not related to the iCloud local folder.

  • How can I stop iCloud from uploading my iCal & Address Book: Help!

    Hi,
I just made all the updates for my iMac and iPhone. All of them.
Then I (un)checked everything but "Find my Mac/iPhone"
Dispite my settings, I can still find replicas of my iCal and Address Book in iCloud through its Safari interface.
How can I delete my iCal and Address Book from the cloud and stop iCloud from mirroring them in the cloud.
    I appresiate your help,

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Have him delete your account from his phone. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and tap delete).

  • How can i stop iCloud from trying to update

i removed iCloud from my pc several months ago however it continues to try to update. how can i stop this?

You missed something. Remove it properly (which may entail re-installing and removing again).

  • How can I stop iCloud from overwriting my bookmarks recovered by a restore from computer?

I am moving to a new iPad. I made the mistake of deleting my bookmarks on the old iPad before resetting it to factory settings. As a result I have somehow got no bookmarks in iCloud. When I do a full restore from computer I get my bookmarks back but only until I connect to the internet when iCloud immediately overwrites the recovered bookmarks with no bookmarks.
I've tried pretty much everything I can think of including deleting everything I see in iCloud Control Panel/Manage Storage. However these (non) bookmarks are obviously kept somewhere else that I can't find.
I need to replace the iCloud bookmarks with the ones I recover from the computer restore. How do I do that?
    Thanks.

Touch Copy appears to be now named iPhone Backup Extractor (although it works for iPads as well). It appears to deal only with any backups you may have on the computer it's installed on, not with the device itself. So if you have no computer backup where the lost info can be found then this software is no use.
Happily, I do have a very recent (2 days ago) computer backup, albeit encrypted. It seems to be necessary to buy the software to get it to do what you want. I succeeded in extracting the bookmarks as a bookmarks.db file from my encrypted computer backup of the iPad.
Then it's necessary to use more software, SQLite, to extract the information from the bookmarks.db file. This software is free but seriously geeky, not at all user friendly. I have managed to obtain a .csv file from the bookmarks.db file which is at least readable, but not able to be imported into Firefox which appears to accept only .html files for importing bookmarks.
Likewise, Safari doesn't appear to accept for import either .db (the iPad file type ironically) or .csv and neither IE nor Chrome won't accept other than .html etc files.
SQLite would seem to be off the mark in not offering .html and its cousins as export formats. And given .db is in fact useless without SQLite and SQLite is both difficult to use and in any event doesn't solve the problem, it would seem obvious IPhone Backup Extractor needs to look at providing conversion of .db files to .html files. But the proper solution is for Apple to enable the overriding of iCloud information with restored from backup information.
What I have now is a .db file of my precious bookmarks which appears to be unusable with any Apple product to override the wretched dominance of iCloud. Absurd that iCloud actually prevents one from restoring an iPad to an earlier time. What's the point of restore if iCloud is going to subvert it each time?
Anyone who has any thoughts towards a solution would be most welcome!

  • How can I stop iCloud from deleting more photos on my PC?

I've been frustrated with the slowness of the photo stream and iCloud. So I have often just plugged my phone into my PC and manually backed up my photos into my Stream folder (the same folder that is chosen in the iCloud menu).
So I had 1000's of photos on my PC from the last 4 or 5 years.
    Gone.
For some reason I now go to my Photo Stream on my phone, or on my own PC, and not only do NONE of the photos that are left match (the ones I can see on my phone are not the same as the ones on the PC) but thousands of photos that were on my PC, manually backed up there by myself, are gone. There are only 20 on my PC now. 23 when I look at my photo stream on my phone.
Another odd thing, I took several photos last week, had them on my phone, in my Photo Stream, and on my PC in my Photo Stream. I often delete photos from my phone once they are backed up on the Stream, or on my PC. So I was surprised to see that ONE of FIVE photos I took in a series was still in my photo stream, and on my PC, but the other FOUR photos from that same moment in time are gone.
I want some of these photos back. Many memorable events from the past four years are just gone.
    Not funny, Apple. Fix this.
(P.S. I have 2.3 terrabytes of photos backed up on the PC in question, and duplicated on two other drives in secure locations. Other than one batch of 30 or 40 photos going bad on a card in camera, I have NEVER lost an archived photo before this.)

  • How can I stop pages from wanting to make every document into an outline?

Every time I try to create a document in Pages, it insists in turning it into an outline.  How do I type a staright document?

Have you tried starting from a different template?
As far as I can tell the Outline setting is contained in the document, so this should only happen if you are starting from a template that was saved with Show Document Outline selected.

It's not a good idea to allow websites to redirect to another site until you know for sure the original site is trustworthy.
But if you still want to do it (again not a good idea).
Tools>Options>Advanced>General - In Accessibility, uncheck "warn me when web sites try to redirect..." option.

  • HT201232 how can I stop icloud drive from upgrading?

iCloud drive has been updating almost 2 days or longer on my 5s.  How can I stop it from upgrading so long?
I was having a problem with not being able to swipe pages and opening apps for almost 3 weeks, so I downloaded iOS 8.1 to see if that would help but it didn't and now the icloud drive won't stop updating on my 5s.  I unclicked icloud on my laptop and backed up to my computer but that didn't stop iCloud updating on my phone, I've also reset my phone and that didn't help.

The problem is that should iCloud Photo restart, say, through a computer restart, the problem starts all over again. Apparently removing the photo from iPhoto did not do the trick.
Did you delete the corrupted photo from its event and from My Photo Stream as well? Have you deleted the photo completely by emptying iPhoto's Trash and the System Trash?
You could also try to delete the photos from the folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub/
That will remove the temporary copy of "My Photo Stream" on the Mac from the user library.
The user library is hidden by default. To open the hidden User Library:
    Use the Finder's "Go" menu.
Click "Go", then hold down the options key, until you are seeing "Library" in the drop down menu appear and click it.
In the Finder window that will open navigate to the folder ~/Library/Application Support/iLifeAssetManagement/assets/sub/.

    You might want to update Safari to 3.12. I would empty the safari cache. (Safari>Empty Cache). Then quit Safari. System Preferences>Network>Show:Airport>TCP/IP. Insert the following into the DNS Servers box;
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
then hit apply. Now launch Safari. You should also try powering down modem, router and Mac and power up in 2 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac.

This add-on is very simple: on installation, it backs up

affects the search bar, URL bar searches, and the home page.
