How can I stop text being underlined randomly in articles
My homepage is Sky news and when I click on an item of news the following page has various words double underlined. These words have no relation to the item and when clicked, a search is conducted that mostly reveals no information other than the meaning of the underlined word.
Suggestions to remove Sushi have been tried but it seems that this add on is not installed. I assume it must be another add on, but which one?
To prevent add-ons from being installed without your knowledge, follow these steps:
-> Tap ALT key or press F10 to show the Menu Bar
-> go to Help Menu -> select "Restart with Add-ons Disabled"
Firefox will close then it will open up with just basic Firefox. Now do this:
-> go to View Menu -> Toolbars -> unselect All Unwanted toolbars
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> General -> place Checkmark on "Show the Downloads window when downloading a file" -> select Radio Button option2 "Always ask me where to save files"
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Content -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Block Pop-up windows 2) Load images automatically 3) Enable JavaScript
-> go to Tools Menu -> Options -> Security -> place Checkmarks on:
1) Warn me when sites try to install add-ons 2) Block reported attack sites 3) Block reported web forgeries
-> Click OK on Options window
-> click the Favicon (small drop down menu icon) on Firefox SearchBar (its position is on the Right side of the Address Bar) -> click "Manage Search Engines" -> select all Unwanted Search Engines and click Remove -> click OK
-> go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> REMOVE All Unwanted/Suspicious Extensions (Add-ons) -> Restart Firefox
You can enable your Known & Trustworthy Add-ons later. Check and tell if its working.

I created a staylesheet called "print.css" and added the following lines to my Resume.html file:

In my Resume.html file I have a link that will print a PDF of my resumé. However, if you print the resumé then I do not want the link to print the resumé to be shown.
In the print.css I created the following class:

color: #FFF;
I applied the class to the 'offending' text, thus:
<p class="doNotPrint"><a href="PDFs/Peter A. Forkes - Resume.pdf">Resume.pdf</a></p>
however, it does not seem to have any effect. I am assuming (since the background is white) that changing the text color to white should make it invisible.
If you can suggest either how to make my method work (or suggest a better method) that that should mean that I have finished everything I want to do with my webpage.

The problem with the CSS is that you've targeted the <p> tag with the rule, not the <a> tag so it has no effect. Normal text in that paragraph will print in white but links will display in #333 because of your rule on a:link and a:visited
Nevertheless, I would avoid those tricks in case you incur the displeasure of the search engines. They're widely used by spammers and are punished accordingly (even though I know we're talking about a print stylesheet and your intentions are honourable :-).
In your print stylesheet, change

How can I stop my iPhone from randomly, persistently, making a noise it should not be making?
This has been happening for about 1-2 months.
My iPhone makes a sound which is a normal iOS sound, but without any reason for it to be making the sound. It happens randomly, perhaps 1 day per week although when it happens it happens several times in the same day usually, even after quitting all apps / processes and restarting.
As you can imagine it's not very easy to describe the sound.
I do have a lot of apps, but there is free space and I'm rarely using more than Safari and/or Mail when it happens. Often it happens when I am just charging or not using the iPhone and there does not seem to be a correlation with power.
I have tried restarting the springboard and I have tried restoring from prior states. I have also upgraded the software several times since the first time I had this problem. There are no other problems except for some freezing on occassion.
Any thoughts?

I run an SSD boot drive and load my programs and files to my drive E which is in Raid 1 configuration. When windows goes wrong in the SSD and I have to re- register my email accounts I find my profiles are "lost" as they have been stored in C:/users/appdata and when you re- register a new profile is created. So if like me you have folders under each email account and C:/ has been reinstalled these profiles and their contents are lost. Why can I not download to E:/ and have profiles stored permanently in appdata in E?I would move the profile data to the preferred location, leaving ''profiles.ini'' in place, then edit ''profiles.ini'' file to point at the new location. You'll need to enter the full absolute pathname, swap any forward slashes to backslashes and set the IsRelative flag to false.
Alternatively, you could move or copy your profile, then use the Thunderbird profile manager to select it as the working profile. This involves starting Thunderbird with a command-line switch to start it in profile manager mode. Frankly, guiding most users through a command-line start up is hard work.
Having relocated your profile, you may find that some add-ons complain because they have stupidly saved pathnames to their own resources as absolute paths. I'm thinking particularly of stationery and signatures here.

How can I stop flash player from randomly switching between audio devices in Win7?
I have two audio devices in my machine. The internal onboard Realtek (optical out -> surround setup) + Line6 UX1, external usb (for guitar inputs/amp sim).
I switch between them as needed. The flash player does this too, but always when I don't need it to.
Example. A youtube video finishes. The sound came from the speakers, as it should. I click the next one. It starts playing but there's no sound - except from the headphones connected to the UX1. This happens once or twice a day.
Does anyone know what's going on?
Chrome, Win7 64bit.I don't know what more we can do other than to enter a bug at bugbase.adobe.com and have someone take a look. I suspect switching interfaces while Flash is in use will be unsupported. In the bug report, it'll be good to note if this is new behavior (ie. it started behaiving like this in 11.3, but 11.2 and older were fine). However, the key to getting this fixed will be to get other users running into the same problem to vote for the bug.

Is it possible for your iphone to be hacked?so that someone can text message people in your contacts (and send pictures)? If so can you trace the hack and how can you stop it?
As has been said, the iPhone itself can't be hacked this way, as far as anyone currently knows.
Your Apple ID is another story. Any kind of online accounts can be hacked, and Apple IDs are no exception. If someone hacks your Apple ID, they could see all the data in the associated iCloud account, such as contacts, and could send those contacts texts that would appear to come from you. If that were to happen, you should see an alert on your other devices that your Apple ID is being used with Messages on a new device.
If you have not seen that alert, it's unlikely that this problem is occurring due to such a hack. In that case, it would be more likely that either someone has gotten their hands on your phone, or some other Apple device registered to your Apple ID, and has used it to send that message. Or that the person claiming you sent a picture is lying for some reason.
If you believe your Apple ID may have been hacked, you should change your password immediately (at appleid.apple.com). You should also seriously consider enabling two-factor authentication on your Apple ID. -
I use Firefox as my default browser but, on any site, keep getting some words underlined in green from which an ad pops up. Really peeing me off! Doesn't happen on IE or Chrome. How can I stop this?
From what you have described, I don't think you are ever going to pick that up as malware at all. But I did look at the site you mentioned in Google Chrome, and in IE9. First thought was maybe Chrome suppresses it, but that would be contrary to trying to convince you that their AdSense or IntelliTXT is "helping" you.
What I did find in Chrome was
"Google Chrome's connection attempt to ad-apac.doubleclick.net was rejected. The website may be down, or your network may not be properly configured."
Since I don't have ad blockers in Chrome or IE, that tells me that my hosts file is doing its job, you can draw you own conclusions. There is something similar displayed in IE, but I can't read what was there because the font-size was too big. for the space. In Firefox with "Adblock Plus" extension it is all wiped out. The hosts file works across the entire system but is directed at blocking malware sites more than advertising. "Adblock Plus" is very good at blocking ads and can do its blocking with more generic filters, and can block a lot of malware from coming in but it can't block at the system level that a hosts file can.
In IE although I can only see "It appea" because the font is too large and text does not wrap it does actually say "It appears you are connected to the Internet, but you might want to try to reconnect to the Internet."
I would certainly suggest installing "Adblock Plus" extension and the "Easylist (USA)" filter subscription -- links are in the links previously provided, and installing the hosts file as well also in the links.
It takes a bit more work to install and maintain a hosts file but the directions should be clear enough. -

An icloud account is designed to be used by one user to keep his/her devices in sync.
If you have muitiple family members or friends using the same account as yours, then have them get their own Apple IDs and icloud accounts.
If you mean you want to stop the sharing between all your devices, then on any one device, go to Settings>icloud and turn off the services you don't want that device to share/sync. Or turn off icloud altogether if that's what you want. -

Everything that you have checked in your icloud settings will be shared between devices using the same Apple ID. If you don't want icloud to share that information, then simply turn off that process under settings > icloud

How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap.
