How can I stop wifi from cutting out when I am still near my router?

My iPhone is not picking up the wifi very well and when I go upstairs it cuts out, even though other iPhones still have full wifi upstairs.

You might want to update Safari to 3.12. I would empty the safari cache. (Safari>Empty Cache). Then quit Safari. System Preferences>Network>Show:Airport>TCP/IP. Insert the following into the DNS Servers box;
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
then hit apply. Now launch Safari. You should also try powering down modem, router and Mac and power up in 2 minute sequence; modem, router, Mac.

How can we stop iPrint from pushing out printers?

Is there a global way to stop iPrint Client Management from pushing out printers? Or, is there a way to report on all group objects that have a printer assignment? We are trying to stop printers from being pushed, but we have 100+ group assignments, as well as some printers that are specifically assigned to users. Trying to find them all and then change them all is going to be a difficult task. We're hoping there's a setting in the Driver Store or Print Manager that we missed.

How can I stop Foxfire from automatically loading when I turn on my computer that runs on Windows Vista?

Foxfire automatically loads when I boot up my computer after all the other essential programs boot up. I'd like to know how to disable the start-up menu link that allows the program to load up when the computer first starts up because the Foxfire browser isn't needed when I first start the computer. Besides, when I first start my computer, it's inevitably not hooked to the internet and it's just a bit annoying to see foxfire load when it's not needed. Furthermore, it takes up precious memory in the RAM when it's running, thus slowing down my machine. Please, someone show me how to keep this program from booting when I start up my computer. By the way, my system is Windows Vista and Foxfire does not show up in the start-up folder. Only by going to the default program page and clicking on Foxfire does it show that Foxfire has a hidden default that makes it start when the computer starts. All I'm looking for is to not see it when I boot my computer.

Thanks for pointing me to the link about the startup programs changes. I found the solution there. Foxfire was hiding in the hidden startup menu. Once I found it using msconfig, I was able to stop it from loading when I started my computer. Again, thanks for the help.

Is there any way to stop iTunes from popping up and syncing my iPod when I plug it in? I have about 1000 songs that are misplaced and I do NOT want them all erased off of my iPod when I plug it in. Yet, all the ways that are explained mean that you have to plug your iPod into the computer and have iTunes open and sync it just so you can click the box telling it not to sync. ANY way around this? Please help.

Open the iTunes preferences and turn that option off, or press the Shift and Control keys while connecting the iPod to your computer, releasing them once the iPod appears.

How can I stop Firefox from loading automatically when I startup my computer?

A while ago I setup Windows so Outlook and Firefox opened automatically when I log on. Now I want to stop FF from opening automatically. I have gone into the Startup folder and removed the shortcut to FF several times but it keeps coming back. I changed the name of Mozilla Firefox in the Windows Programs Directory to xxMozilla Firefox and that didn't keep it from loading. If necessary, I will remove FF from my computer altogether but I would rather not do that.

Aaarg! I tried Matt's suggestion of using msconfig, restarted my computer, and it seemed to solve the problem. Today when I turned on the computer it hung up before loading Windows. I had to use the F12 button to get it to load. I did and it did and Firefox did not load.
Now, this evening, I turned on the computer, the startup procedure was normal, and there's Firefox fired up and ready to go!

How can I fix the sound cutting out when I use the dashboard?

When I use the dashboard feature to look at the calendar etc. the sound on my computer cuts out. It is not on mute, it shows as high volume but when I use the volume buttons to turn it up, they make no noise and if I am trying to listen to music, no noise comes out the computer. I have to restart the computer ever time this happens before the sound comes back.

How do I stop Firefox from timing out when connecting to NDN video servers?

Many news websites use the video servers at NDN. Firefox seems to invariably time out when trying to display videos hosted there. An error message box will popup that says "[Error](com.ndn.video::StreamingVideo) OPV Error #6 Timed out while trying to connect."
I've tried to edit some of the timeout settings in about:config but I don't know for sure which to modify.

I neglected to mention I'm running FF 24.0 on a Mac 10.9 Mavericks system. There was not a Tools -> Options choice on the menu, but I did find it on the Preferences panel, on the Advanced tab (see image 1).
I made the auto-detect selection as you advised and restarted FF. After navigating to a video I once again received the error message (see image 2).
So either I did something wrong (possible but I don't think so; I double-checked the setting after the restart and it is set to auto detect) or the problem lay elsewhere.
Anything else come to mind?

I have the same problem guys but i found half the solution:
It seems you can custom format numbers (many custom formats) in address book on a mac.
Then address book is smart enough to figure out which format to use for which country.
i.e. if you put +44 XXX XXX XXXX for a uk number, then it will automatically format it to THAT format as soon as you enter a number starting with 44. Furthermore, it will automatically update all +44 numbers to that format. You can have as many custom formats
Then have everything synced automatically via icloud.
Though it looks great in Address book,
i still have a problem getting all that nice formatting to show up on the 4s
Any ideas?

I created a staylesheet called "print.css" and added the following lines to my Resume.html file:

In my Resume.html file I have a link that will print a PDF of my resumé. However, if you print the resumé then I do not want the link to print the resumé to be shown.
In the print.css I created the following class:

color: #FFF;
I applied the class to the 'offending' text, thus:

however, it does not seem to have any effect. I am assuming (since the background is white) that changing the text color to white should make it invisible.
If you can suggest either how to make my method work (or suggest a better method) that that should mean that I have finished everything I want to do with my webpage.

The problem with the CSS is that you've targeted the tag with the rule, not the <a> tag so it has no effect. Normal text in that paragraph will print in white but links will display in #333 because of your rule on a:link and a:visited
Nevertheless, I would avoid those tricks in case you incur the displeasure of the search engines. They're widely used by spammers and are punished accordingly (even though I know we're talking about a print stylesheet and your intentions are honourable :-).
In your print stylesheet, change
.doNotPrint {
color: #FFF;
to
.doNotPrint {
display:none;

How can I stop Acrobat from reordering files when importing files to create a PDF?

To all those more knowledgable than I,
I am converting a larger amount of tiff files into one PDF. The TIFF files are numbered 1-100. When I "add files" in the diaologe window they reorder because Acrobat does not look at the third number so then I have to move up and move down the file names so that they are in a sequential order. Is there a way to have Acrobat not do this?!

You can share the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: here
But for all other Apple services like:
FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc, one of you should use a different Apple ID.

You do not need to move your cursor much when pressing the mouse button to cause the tab to tear-off/tear-away into a new tab. No "sensitivity" setting that I am aware of. The tab in the new window can be dragged back to the original window.
