How can I stream from my desk top to my apple tv. My Wi-Fi network is up and working and I'm able to watch all the netflix, youtube and hulu content endlessly. But how can I also stream directly from my dektop?

My question might sound a little confusing to some of you, but anyway: When I watch a video on my iPad (youtube app, facebook, etc.) I would like to watch the video on my iPad and stream the audio to my atv, which is connected to my hifi. Currently, every time I hit the airplay button both video AND audio will be streamed.
Many people complain about only streaming audio, but that's precisely what I am looking for! I don't want to turn on my TV for every silly 0:30 min youtube video. I would love to find something like this:

you can't rely on airplay mirror some apps support the old in app airtune audio only option if the video app in question does you can do it from the apps settings somehow
if not then you need a airport express which does pretty much what airplay mirror on the Apple TV does but it's a audio only

How can I stream from iTunes 11.3 to my AppleTV?

I had enabled Home Sharing on my iTunes 11.3 from Windows XP and also enabled the Home Sharing in the AppleTV 3rd-gen.
But I still cannot see the AppleTV in the list of available streaming devices from iTunes (stream icon at the right of the volume bar), nor the AppleTV can connect to my shared library.
I'm using the same WiFi and the same AppleID on both the Windows XP's iTunes 11.3 and the AppleTV. All devices are fully up to date as well.

I have a Sigma SD-10 as well.
In addition to asking for RAW support (which I have also done) what you can do for now is use PhotoPro to export 16-bit TIFF images.
That's what I've been doing. They take up a lot of space but I can use hue, contrast, and other adjustments just fine. The only thing that is not enabled is the "auto-exposure" option. Auto-levels works fine though...
My whole workflow now is to do a really rough-cut in Photopro converting anything that looks half good using a batch conversion using all automatic PhotoPro adjustments.
Then I compare and toss anything really bad in Aperture and do other tweaking (like color) as needed from there. Since those edits take up no space and are quick I save a lot of time over just using PhotoPro and PhotoShop. I've never been quite as happy with Photoshop ACR conversions for SD-10 files so I really didn't use that much.
One thing I would say is that if Aperture supported Adobe DNG Linear RAW files I would probably just use ACR to batch-convert all X3F files to DNG files (embedding originals of course!) and then just work from those. I'm hoping Aperture adds such support pretty soon and would encourage you to ask the same. There are a whole world of camera users that could benefit from that.

You will have to use the minidisplay port to connect to the TV. Assuming that the TV has an HDMI port, you will need a cable such as this:

Wired: if your TV has an HDMI port, you need a Thunderbolt to HDMI adapter such as this one:

No, not directly.. but to get the movies onto your iPad you need to sync them on there from your computer running iTunes.. you can likewise sync those same movies from your computer running iTunes to the appleTV..
