How can i sum the numbers of photos in my catalogues by menue
I have n catalogues each having m pictures. The sum is n*m. I need to know this simple multiplification by menue/tool not by pencil on my papersheet.
Possible ?
Rainman
Thanks, I will send in some feedback. It seems silly to have a menu option to arrange photos "Manually," then have them move around seemingly on their own.

$50
Dinning Room
$800
Dinning Room
$300
Kitchen
$1,000
Master Bedroom
$100
Dinning Room
SHEET 2
Display the total SUM amount of each Project based on Sheet 1
Project Name
Total Cost
Dinning Room
$950
Kitchen
$300Would be a good idea to open iWork Formulas and Functions User Guide and search for the description of the function named SUMIF
The Guide is available for every user thru the Help menu.

How can I save the order of photos in albums in Elements 11? Even though I have set as album order they revert back to original order.
Could you confirm that when you re-open the sorted album, the display order on the top bar just over the browsing space is still in 'album' order ? That order may have been changed to a date order. For me, I get the order of the last album I opened, not necessarily the 'album' order of the present album.

How can I remove the pictures in photo stream? I have already turn off my photostream at the settings but when i turn it on again, the pictures still come out?
Ok you can reset the stream from www.icloud.com
Goto www.icloud.com
Login with your iCould username and password.
and login
Then click on your name in the top right hand side of the screen next to sign out,
it opens a window Account details with Language, Time Zone, Advanced
Select Advanced - Then click Reset Photo Stream. and confirm, the stream will be reset and totally deleted
I still think you should be able to remove individual pictures though, a blured image etc is a problem -
When I zoom in on photo using iPhoto, how can I save the zoomed in photo please? I would like a screen shot of my zoomed in photo - is this possible?. Cropping doesn't give the same effect as zooming in and magnifying the photo. Any help would be appreciated thank you. I have an iMac
To take a screenshot of the zoomed photo, press either the key combination
⇧⌘3 for a screenshot of the full screen, or
⇧⌘4 to bring up a selection rectangle: select the section of the screen, that you want to save.
The screenshots will be sent to your desktop; drag them from there to the iPhoto icon in the Dock to import them. -
In iPhoto most of my photos appear to have been replaced by much smaller versions. What has happened and how can I get the full size photos back?
That is either a bug in Firefox 5 or the script has a problem with Firefox 5.<br />
It works in all other Firefox versions like Firefox 3 and 4 and 6 (Aurora) and 7 (Nightly). -

How can I keep the order of photos in an album when I upload it to Flickr?
When I share an iPhoto album on Flickr, the order of the photos in my album is lost. Apparently Flickr uses the photo date, but that defeats all the manual arranging I have done in my album. How can I preseve the photo order on upload?
Also, the description of each uploaded photo appears in small print and not in the main Flickr label box. This means the description cannot be seen if a photo is viewed in full screen mode. How can I automatically transfer the iPhoto descriptions to the main Flickr label boxes?
Is there a better way to share iPhoto albums on the Web (Picasso)?I'm glad you found a solution
For for others and you in the future it is important to understand
Albums are a way to VIEW photos in your desired order within iPhoto - the photos do not have any order (in fact they are in files scattered essentially randomly accross your hard drive)
When you move the out of iPhotoand view them in another program that program determines teh order they are viewed in
An easy to see an example is the finder - files exported from iPhoto and viewed via the finder can be viewed in many different sort orders including name, date created, date modified, size, kind and label - none of these have any relation to the order the photos were in the album UNLESS you cause that to happen (like by exporting using sequential file names so teh finder name sort matched the album order) - the order you see photos in is totally determined by the program you are using to view them - if you understand how it views them then you may be able to export them so that the destination program view martches the iPhoto view
To make suggestions to Apple re exporting to Flickr (or any other outsidside service) - iPhoto menu ==> provide iPhoto feedback - and to make suggestiont to thrid party suppliers like the Picasa export plugin contact the developer of that plugin

How can I see the numbers of lines selected in a Multiple Selection Box?
Hi everybody,
what I want to do is to get in an array of numbers all the lines selected.
For instance, if I select the rows 1,4 and 7 from a Multiple Selection Box
of 10 rows in total, how can I see that array when the rows 1,4 and 7 are
selected?
Because I want to connect this numbers to Case Structure and if the only
rows selected are 1,4 and 7, the Case Structure will only realize this cases,
and the rest will be ignored.
I'm sure there is some way to get what I want.
Thank you for your helpful.THANK YOU VERY MUCH. IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!!

I used "adjust date and time" and"modify original files" to correct the time of photos taken on a camera used in Peru which was set to UK rather than local time. which is 6 hours behind. This was to bring them into line with shots taken with other cameras set to local time. This was using iphoto 08 on a Mac. I then synced to my iPad. The photos stayed in the correct order in photos but in iphoto (iOS version) the original dates appear (the camera dates) and so the photos are out of chronological order again. This looks like a bug but is there a fix?
don't know what you mean by "write to master" but speculate that it means modify the original times, in which case the taken times on the camera should no longer be present
No,I meant your using the option "modify original files" will do exactly that - change the capture date original master files stored in the iPhoto library. Only when you do that, the "date modified" of your original files will be changed as well, and it will now be the date of your manipulation of the capture date.
Oh - I hadnt considered that possibility - but of that were the case, why don't my manipulated photos go to the end of the sequence as I have done all the manipulation after the end of the holiday??
In photos the synced album maintains the chronological order which I set up on the mac by modifying the originals, as you said,
That is what the linked article is describing: "some apps may sort your photos in the order you specify in the app (such as iPhoto or Aperture"
The problem I have is that, in the album, iphoto (ipad) sorts them differently to both iphoto (Mac) and the photos tab on the ipad
In addition to albums and events, synced photos appear in a unified category called Photo Library (on iPad, this is the Photos tab). Photos are not duplicated. This category will also sort photos in ascending order by the date modified.
"on ipad this is the Photos tab" - but this displays as per the original sequence ignoring time adjustments - the manipulations seem to be ignored (but are reflected in the album in the photos tab) and the photos tahat have been modified stay in their original positiom - they don't get put the end
Because the library uses a different date - the date modified - the date of the last time the file has been changed in any way - any editing you do to your image, including adjust date and time will change the "date modified"
This may change the sorting of the database but it appears not to influence the order in the albums
In addition to albums and events, synced photos appear in a unified category called Photo Library (on iPad, this is the Photos tab). Photos are not duplicated. This category will also sort photos in ascending order by the date modified.
So how can i get my photos in date and time order in an album in iphoto for ipad?
Thanks for your help -
How can I change the order of photos in my fotostreams?
When selecting photos for a fotostream to share with friends the exported files appear in the order they were taken. If I add more pictures later, they are added at the end of the stream as if they were ne lastest taken pics.
How can I change that?
Exporting all of them and then creating a new stream brings back the real order, but destroys all comments.Aperature is the same with PS - PS is PS
Lightroom - has nothing to do with sharing photos in any way - it is a photo manager with no connection to any other Apple products
FLickr and integrated into iPhoto and are easy ways to share photos - SmugMug also is popular
Google will bring you others

How can I change the date old photos were taken when I only know the year?
I've scanned lots of old photos and I want to change the date to reflect when they were taken. In some cases I only know the year and I don't want inaccurate information to be assigned by the software. How can I do this?
Actually a specific wrong date is no more inaccurate than a year with no more info - neither is correct, just incorrect in different ways
the software de not ever assign a date to a photo - you do o your camera does
iPhoto has no provision for an approximate date do you have to leave them undated in the EXIF fields and use a description field or pick a date to use for unknown - 1/1/xxxx is one suggestion

How can I change the order of photos in iPhoto so I can create the slide show I want?
How to change the order of photos in iPhoto on my iPad, so I can create the slide show I want.
Here's what I did to generate a slide show with Ken Burns effect on the iPad...with the exact same slide order I created on the iMac. I have iOS 5.5 and iPhoto App on New iPad, and iPhoto 11 on iMac.
In iPhoto for the Mac, create a new Album and give it the name of your Slide Show. Drag or import the photos you want into the album. Rearrange the order of the album photos as desired. Do this by selecting Manual Sort under View/Sort Photos or simply start dragging thumbnails to the places you want them (the sort method will automatically change to Manual).
When you have the order you want, shut down iPhoto on the Mac to make sure iPhoto's database gets updated with the new photos and their order.
Restart iPhoto and go to File/Export on the top menu. Select File Export at the top left of the Export window. Set JPEG quality to Max, Size to Full Size, and File Name to Album Name and Number. Set Subfolder Format to None.
Click Export to bring up what looks like the Finder. Create an empty folder on your hard drive under Pictures and give it the name of your slide show. Click on the new folder and then click OK at the bottom right of the Finder-like window. The new folder will contain JPEG files with file names in the form, Album Name - 001.jpeg, Album Name - 002.jpeg, etc. There will also be an iPOD Photo Cache folder. Click at the top of the Name column to order files by file name. 001 will be your first slide, 002 your second, etc.
Now start up iTunes. You are going to force the Mac to sync these new photos with the iPad. Click on your iPad device in the list at the left. Now click on the Photo button at top right. Make sure the Sync Photos check box at top is checked, then select Choose Folder... from the list at right. In the Finder-like window that opens, select the folder where your slides are. Make sure that All Folders is checked, then select Open at the bottom right.
Now click Sync at bottom right. The slides will be copied to your iPad. Both the Photos app and the iPhoto app will properly handle the slide order, and the Ken Burns effect is available using the iPhoto app.
I ran across this problem in preparing a Ken Burns slide show for a wedding. Drove me nuts for a week why the order changes when syncing an iPhoto album from iMac to iPad. But this worked and gave me several options. I plan to use the digital AV adapter for iPad and show slides on a large screen TV using HDMI connection from iPad to TV. TV essentially acts as an external monitor for the iPad.
Hope this helps!
