How can I sync my current iPod touch to a new computer?

I am in need of some assistance. I had my iPod Touch synced with my computer, but my computer died and I cannot fix it. I bought a new computer and put iTunes on it, but it tells me that if I want to sync my iPod with it, it will have to erase everything I have put on my iPod. I have been adding things for the past 3 years and I do not wish to lose everything and put nothing on it like iTunes is suggesting. Does anyone know of a way to put what I have on my iPod onto my new pc? Please help!

Huh?
You can sync to any computer you like.  You can sycn to your new computer.  You have simply failed to keep your content safe.
Apple assumes that you will do the very basics of owning a computer and maintain a backup copy of your computer.
The only issue here is that you failed to do the basics.
Very sorry.
Transfer your itunes purchases as I described earler.

I have an older IPOD that has not been synced to Itunes for seceral yeras. I no longer have the same computer or e-mail address. How can I sync my old IPOD material to my new Itunes account?

Your email address (used as your Apple ID) does not matter, because iPods are not directly linked to a particular Apple ID.
NOTE:  You can still use your old Apple ID, even if your that email address is no longer valid.  As long as you remember your Apple ID password.  Go here and click on Manage your Apple ID.
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
You can change the primary email address used by Apple, although the Apple ID remains the same.
Back to the iPod.  iTunes syncing is generally in one direction only, from the computer's iTunes library to the iPod.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer, except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.  (The CNET article seems to be popular.)
Once the song files are on your computer's drive, you can add them to your new iTunes library.  After confirming everything is there, sync your iPod to that library.  If there is any content purchased from the iTunes Store that uses DRM (copy protection), such as audiobooks, videos, and very old song purchases, iTunes may prompt you to authorize your computer with your Apple ID (the one you used to make the purchases).

how can i sync music from my phone onto my new computer without losing it all? my old computer's hard drive crashed so it is unusable.

If you do not have a back up of the crashed hard drive you can download an app to copy from the iPhone to iTunes on the new hard drive.
I have used Pod2Mac.  There is also Pod2PC.
There are numerous choices, some free, some payed.  Do a Google search.

  • How can I sync my G2 iPod touch with iCloud Contacts

I have a second generation iPod touch OS 4.2.1.
My iMac runs OS X 10.7.3 and I have an iPad 3rd generation.
My Address Book Contacts and iCal Calendars are in iCloud. I have no On My Mac contacts or calendars.
I can sync my iCloud calendars with the iPod touch by choosing the iCloud calendars identified with my Apple ID in the iTunes calendar sync dialog.
The iTunes sync dialog for the Address Book, however, does not show my iCloud Contacts and only has a choice for syncing all contacts, which I have chosen.
My calendars sync to my iPod touch, but my Address Book does not.

This says that it can't be done.
But I am able to do it for my calendars in iCloud, just not for my contacts in iCloud.
What is the reason for the difference.

  • How can I sync playlists from my iphone to a new computer?

I have a new Macbook Pro. I transfered the content of my itunes folder from my previous laptop to the new machine but playlists did not transfer. Now I have my playlists on my iphone but want to sync to new computer but Itunes warns me that if I sync my data on the phone will be replaced by the data on my computer, which I do not want to happen because then i would lose my playlists. How can I sync from the iphone to the computer?

    Hi,
I have just transferred my iTunes library from PC to new MacBook Pro and I have an inkling that you may not have copied over your iTunes library files properly from your old library. If you copy over your old library files properly (iTunes library and xml library file- found in iTunes folder on computer)then it should re-create all of your old playlists, ratings etc on new machine. There are lots of postings on this support forum and internet about transferring iTunes library to new computer, may help if you give a bit more detail about how you copied over library in first place and then work from there.

  • How can I sync my old ipod touch apps to my new ipod touch

I have an ipod touch 3G and just got an ipod touch 4g, I want to get the apps with their history (such as my calendar and golf scores) on to my new one.
But apparently I made a mistake when I registered my new touch.  Is there any way I can sync my old apps on to my new ipod touch?

Set the new one to be the same name as the old one and it should restore everything on to your knew one.

  • How can you tell if an iPod touch has the new apps?

Having seen the updates to the ipod Touch I'm finally ready to buy one. From the keynote I gather that new units shipping from the factory after 15 Jan have the new software, old units do not and, unusually for apple, even if you buy an old software unit after the announcement, you don't get the software for free. Worse still, I'm in one of those countries they sell the touch, but don't have an iTunes store, so if I buy an old one, I'm stuck with it, cannot upgrade.
Is there any way to tell from the box which version you have, change in part number, anything? I'm sure they aren't doing the M$ sticker approach "now with 1.1.3 and lots of new apps". The return policy out here in Singapore is basically you can't, so I need to figure out in the store if the box I'm buying is new, or old, and I have no clue at all how much stock is left out there.
    Any suggestions?

    Hello,
If you're going to buy in a real shop then why not have the retailer open the box for you. Especially if they don't do returns - that's a must.
The next suggestion is a little more hit-and-miss but the fourth and fifth digits of the Serial Number are the week of production. If you get a week 02 or later it should be okay. Perhaps someone with a brand new one could confirm.
