How can i sync my iphone when my screen is smashed and i cannot type the passcode?
i smashed the screen to my iphone 4 and i cant sync to my itunes because it keeps asking for my passcode, which i cant type because my touch pad won't work. i need to erase my phone of all my info before i sell it, how can i go about doing this if i cannot connect it to my itunes? even if i can erase it without connecting to my itunes, i'd still like to recover some info so if anyone can help me sync my phone i'd be really grateful!
When you sync an iPhone to the same computer it was last synced to it will not require the passcode. If you never synced it to any computer, or you don't have the last computer you synced to, you are out of luck.

When I click on the "Do you want to find the original file" I can find it in the appropriate folder. I checked the "Preferences" and under "Advanced" I re-mapped it to the appropriate location and already had the 2 boxes for iTunes organizing files checked. Then went to "File" and "Organize Library" and clicked the first check box and then got the "Copying Files" bar. When this was completed, I thought it would be able to find the original files. But I'm still getting the same error message about not being able to find the "original" files. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks again for your help.

Copy everything from your old computer to your new one then sync.
Iphone will sync with one library/computer at a time. Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content. -
How can I sync my iPhone/iPad to a new computer without losing data on the devices?
I have the itunes home sharing set up. I have 2 different laptops, each with it's own iTunes on it, and each has it's own library. I have my iPad and iPhone synced to Laptop #1, but this laptop is old and I want to sync my devices to Laptop #2. I've used the home sharing to transfer the songs, videos, etc to move everything from the iTunes on Laptop #1 to the iTunes on Laptop #2. But when I connected my devices to Laptop #2, I got the message saying that my devices were synced to a different iTunes and they can only be synced with 1 iTunes at a time. It warned me if I synced to Laptop #2, I would lose the data on my device, and the data on the iTunes of Laptop #2 would be transferred.
I don't want to lose any of the data on my devices, but I want to sync to Laptop #2. How can I do this? Any help is appreciated, thanks!Hello again and sorry to bother you. How can I sync my iPhone with a new iTunes library and not loose apps?
Up until a few days ago I was syncing my iPhone with my PC notebook. Long story short, the machine crashed and I had to re-install. luckily I had a backup of all of the music from my iTunes library which is now hosted on my Mac Mini, but I didn't have a copy of my apps (why iTunes keeps these files outside of the folder I kept my library in I don't know).
Now I'm syncing music and video with my Mac Mini, but when I select that I want to sync apps I get the message that everything on the phone will be deleted.. Is there a way to back up the apps so I can add them to the library and sync them back to the phone without losing them?I had the same issue with a withdrawn app. Just copy all the .app files from the old directory to somewhere on the new machine, then drag them onto the Application menu item on the left hand side and iTunes will import them as long as you've already registered iTunes for the same account.
Job done! Worked a treat for me - including the app that wasn't available any more..... -

If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.

My phone was run over. It still works enough to see some of the screen but not the number pad. I cannot unlock the phone because I activated find my iphone. How can I unlock the phone so I can save my photos? Is there a way to unlock it from find my iphone. It was not backed up in iCloud. When I plug it into my computer, the computer tells me that I have to unlock it first. Help?

Now I have a few more questions: If I mail my broken iPhone to Asurion, will I be able to get my data off of my iPhone once Asurion has it? And what will happen to my old iPhone and the data on it if I activate my replacement iPhone? Will my broken iPhone just become de-activated and will the data be erased or lost or something? Could I still sync it (with the computer ir originally synced with) and back up the data?

You don't. The iOS photo sync is one-way: Computer to phone. You can only use iPhoto to import pics in your camera roll.

You cannot. Copy everything you want form the old computer to the new one, then sync it.

Correct Iphone will sync, or manually manage, with one and only one computer/library at a time. Syncing, or manually managing, to another will indeed erase the current content. -
