How can I sync native Thunderbird tasks between multiple PCs?

I like Thunderbird's native task manager. I do not use Google Tasks or any other 3rd party task manager. How can I keep my Thunderbird tasks in sync between 2 or more PCs? Is there something similar to Firefox Sync for Thunderbird? Is there an Add On which does this? Is there a file in the Thunderbird profile folder which contains all the task information which I can sync using a 3rd party program e.g. Dropbox, OneDrive?

Unfortunately Google Tasks is not a very effective task manager.
In the alternative, how do I create recurring tasks and date/time reminders for Google Tasks? Is that even possible?
If not then it's back to the original question: how can I sync Lightning tasks between 2 PCs? Can it be done by syncing a file using OneDrive?

• HT204053 how can i sync calendar and contacts between my iPhone and new Mac book pro?

I use an iPad and iPhone to maintain my schedule and contacts. I just purchased a Macbook Pro...how do I sync info on my other devices with my Macbook?
I have a current iCloud ID...
Would the info from the calander on the iPad automatically "push" to the Macbook, if i have everything configured properly?
Thanks

Yes,
you need to Sign Out of the wrong Apple ID - lower button in ICloud under system preferences.
Otherwise you cannot change the current Apple ID
Then you will be able to put a new apple ID and sign in.

• How can I sync settings and programs between 2 user accounts on the same mac?

Hi,
I have created 2 user accounts on my mac, one for personal, and one for work (but both for me). It's primarily for organization, keeping files separate, but also because I have two separate Dropbox accounts and only one can be installed per user. I want to know if there's a way to sync selected programs, files, and settings between the two accounts? Basically, I'd like to have the same programs and settings for both user accounts, and just different files.
I can't seem to find any info on this, but maybe I'm using the wrong terms!
Thanks!

To give other users read-only access to your iTunes library, use the Sharing features of iTunes. Sharing works over the local network as well as on the same computer. See the built-in help for details.
To give others selective access to your iPhoto library, you have the option of using iCloud Photo Sharing, if the privacy implications don't bother you. The images will be stored temporarily on Apple servers.
If you want to give full read/write access to more than one user, see the support articles linked below.

There is a way to share the library without moving it to a secondary volume. If you really need to do that, ask for instructions.

• How can I share ONE thunderbird profile between XP x64 and Windows 7 dual booting on the same machine?

I have a primary XP profile and associated mailboxes/accounts. I am dual-booting to Windows 7 and want to share only that XP profile so that all of my mail appears (and is synchronized) in the Thunderbird browser regardless of which OS I boot to. This seems as simple as pointing the Win 7 mail account local profile to the original XP profile, but that doesn't work. And - please - don't point this question to the response regarding sharing profiles between windows and Linux. That thread hasn't helped. Thanks in advance

Well I have no idea hat thread your talking about, but regardless the process is always the same, use the profile manager to create a new profile and point the profile manager to the profile you wish to use.

• How can I sync Ical and AddressBook between 2 machines on a LAN

All I want to do is sync my calendar and address book between my desktop and laptop.  So far the only way I've seen for doing this is by using MobileMe - I don't have an account - or by copying the relevant folders between the two machines.  Whilst this is a solution it is far from ideal.  There has to be a more elegant solution.

well, home sharing actually copies content between homeshared libraries, however playcounts, ratings, etc. will not come along.

• How do I sync folder app contents between multiple ipads?

I currently have a bank of 30 ipads and I would like to create some folders on the home page and put various apps into them, for example, 'School Apps' 'Personal Apps'.
Do I need to go through every individual I-Pad and create these folders? Each time I download a new app and it is available on the home page, do I need to drag it into the corresponding folder on every I-Pad, or is there a way of syncing them all to mirror each other?

You can use the Apple IOS Manager for such tasks.

• How can I sync my Andriod Calendar with my PCs Outlook Calendar

Is there a way to sync my Vortex'z Android Calendar with my PC's MS Outlook Calendar, either via USB cable or via Bluetooth connection????

My Yahoo Calendar was running fine and yesturday my iPhone asked for my Yahoo password, "Enter the password for the CalDAV account "yahoo" "and stopped working.
I type in the Yahoo password on my iPhone for the CalDAV account and get "Calendar Account Unable to verify account information."
This happened in October, 2011 as well and within 24 hour it was working again. Do not know if it was a iPhone problem or a Yahoo problem.
Funny thing is there are no appointments on the iPhone calendar, but all the birthdays are still there when I clicked on "List" at the bottom of the iPhone calendar page. I then pulled the page down and there is a list of 3 appointments dating from Dec. 11, 2011 and earlier.

• HT1727 how can i see my itunes content on multiple pcs in different locations

how do I get my ITunes to view in multiple locations, so I can for example use it at work as well as home?

Sync iPod/iPad/iPhone with two computers
Although it isn't possible to sync an Apple device with two different libraries it is possible to sync with the same logical library from multiple computers. Each library has an internal ID and when iTunes connects to your iPod/iPad/iPhone it compares the local ID with the one the device normally syncs with. If they are the same you can go ahead and sync...
I have my library cloned to a small 1Tb USB drive which I can take between home & work. At either location I use SyncToy 2.1 to update the local copy with the external drive. Mac users should be able to find similar tools. I can open either of the local libraries or the one on the external drive and update the media content of my iPhone. The slight exception is Photos which normally connects to a specific folder on a specific machine, although that can easily be remapped to the current library if you create a "Photos" folder inside the iTunes Media folder so that syncing the iTunes folders keeps this up to date as well. I periodically sweep my library for new files & orphans with iTunes Folder Watch just in case I make changes at one location but then overwrite the library with a newer copy from the other. Again Mac users should be able to find similar tools.
As long as your media is organised within an iTunes Music or Tunes Media folder, in turn held inside the main iTunes folder that has your library files (whether or not you let iTunes keep the media folder organised) each library can access items at the same relative path from the library folder so the library can be at different drives/paths on different machines. This solution ensures I always have adequate backups of my library and I can update my devices whenever I can connect to the same build of iTunes.
When working with an iPhone earlier builds of iTunes would remove any file not physically present in the local library, even if there was an entry for it, making manual management practically redundant on the iPhone. This behaviour has been changed but it will still only permit manual management with a library that has the correct internal ID. If you don't want to sync your library between machines on a regular basis just copy the iTunes Library.itl file from the current "home" machine to any other you want to use, then clean out the library entires and import the local content you have on that box.

• How can I sync 2 Android devices if I do not have a computer to create a sync profile from?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab running Android 4.0.4 & a Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1.1 and no desktop or laptop computer to create a sync profile on. How can I sync my Firefox browsers between these devices?

There isn't an official way to do this.
Here's a hack which could work but I've never tried it and it's difficult to do:
#Borrow a desktop or laptop with Firefox
#Create a new profile
#Set up a sync account
#Write down your username, password and recovery key <- super important. See, Where can I find my Recovery Key?
#Delete that profile you just created on the borrowed computer.
#On one of your Android devices, set up sync and tap the "Advanced Setup" link
#Enter your username, password and recovery key
#Repeat the last two steps on the other Android device.

How can I sync my Microsoft Outlook tasks with my Ipad reminders? I dont want to use Icloud or an exchange

Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

• How can I sync up the IDOC definitions between PI/XI and R3?

XI/PI gurus,
We just applied SAP enhancement packs 4 to our R3 and some XI patches to our XI/PI and now we did not see the messages in our XI  QA box after the IDOC was sent out from R3.
We think one possible cause was the IDOC definition are different between our XI and R3.
How can I sync up the IDOC definitions between PI/XI and R3 and not mess up our existing mappings in XI?
Should I just remove the import objects and reipmort the IDOCS from R3 again?
Thanks in advance!
Fisher Li

Use transaction IDX2. The metadata must be deleted from the cache in IDX2, this can be done by selecting the appropriate system from the list, drilling  down the affected IDOC type and chosing delete
The next time an IDOC is sent or received, the cache will be refreshed.

• How can I sync ical To Do Tasks? About time?

any ideas on How can I sync ical To Do Tasks? ideally I'd like to sync to my ipad too
I currently have Outlook 2011 syncing its tasks to ical nicely, just now need to put them onto my iphone then it would be perfect!
I'm guessing there might be some apps that do this, but would love some suggestions if anyone has any?
thanks in advance?

Unfortunately this is far from easy. It used to be possible with MobileMe, but the process requires a CalDAV server, which very few website hosting services are.
The first step is that you can't do this with an iCloud calendar: it has to be listed under 'On My Mac'. Control-click the calendar and choose 'Publish'. Set 'publish on' to 'A private server' (I'm looking at this on Snow Leopard, where the default is 'MobileMe', which obviously won't work - I don't know if Mountain Lion is different). What I see is this:
You will want to check 'Publish changes automatically'.
Unfortunately it now gets difficult. If you publish to an ordinary website hosting server, all you will get is a text file. MobileMe had the facility to take the published file and turn it into a structured web page. I'm afraid you may have a lot of difficulty in finding a server to do this - I did see a reference to one which claimed to be able to do this, but people were complaining that it didn't work and unfortunately I can't remember the name. iCal's instructions rather assume that you will be running your own server, which I would assume you don't want to get into - I wouldn't.
The easier alternative is to publish publicly from an iCloud calendar - please see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a9479 and expand 'Share a public calendar' - but recipients will need a CalDAV client to open it: iCal is of course one, and Google Calendars another (though I've seen complaints of it being flaky).
