How can I tag my art files so I can find them in a search?

Our company has AI art files from about 1991 forward. In most cases, the artist has just labeled the artwork with the name of the client. As you can imagine, after so many years this gets a bit unwieldy when trying to locate a particular design. I am not the artist. I am the owner, and would like to know how my artist can "tag" artfiles with various keywords, including the Job number, as opposed to just placing them all in a folder with the clients name.

Spotlight
Takes some time for spotlight to index your drive before a spotlight search will work. For example you name a file with your job number, do a search, that may not come up until later.

Make sure you have FULL control over the entire folder where that song is. It might even be a permissions problems on the folder(s) above it.
Also in Vista, it sometimes isn't enough to have read/write control. You need FULL control.

How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files? I need to look at several thousand PDF files. It takes too long to open each one individually. The only thing I could think of is combining them into large groups and then using the Navigation index. But I like the way windows Picture and Fax Viewer does it because you can keep the files separate. Combining PDFs causes loss of individual file names. That would be a problem since I do need to have the individual file names.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a DLL and is started via a rundll32.exe call and can't be set as an application to handle images in Firefox 3 and later versions.
Try to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, then it should be listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog.

Format the flash drive in FAT32, save the file as you would normally and transfer it to the flash drive, then the PC. It should work fine unless one of the Word apps is older.

If you want the same export settings on some or all of the images you can select all that have the same export requirements and export them as a group.
If all the images have the same requirements then you can select them all and run the export command.

IMovie has frozen up on me. I've tried rebooting and reinstalling the apps- no help. I can play some of the files- but I can't get into the libraries.Even when I can get something to play the whole system crashes after a few minutes. What can I do?

I desperately need your help. I was working on iMovie last night when the thing froze up on me. I've tried rebooting. I've tried reinstalling the apps. No change. I can play some of the files- although I can't tell which ones will play until they magically appear. I can't get into the project library or the event library. The bar that lets me scroll through the clips is gone. Even when I can get something to play the whole system crashes after a couple of minutes and generates a "problem report" that says "iMovie Quit Unexpectedly". This all started when I was adding cutaways- and one clip just would not load. After I tried several times everything froze up. Have you ever heard of something like this? Maybe I pushed a button or somehow changed a setting? Maybe some of the video is corrupt? What do you recommend?

Did you log out of one account and into the other or just used Fast user switching?
Is the permissions set to anyone?
When you move data to teh Shared folder is it copied or just moved?
If copied then it's not a folder both can access, just a way station like a USB thumb drive that things are coped too and off of likely.
You can run this #5 on each user account to reset the user permissions once they are taken back out of the Shared folder

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

You can use one of the third-party Finder alternatives. Path Finder, XtrFinder, Total Finder. I've never used them so I can't recommend.

Podcasts downloaded from the iTunes Store have a hidden flag that marks them as podcasts in iTunes. There is no easy way of getting to this flag. I think someone posted instructions on how to do it through the terminal. If you search, you may find them. I just don't remember. Sorry.

How do I convert a VOB file so I can use it in iMovie

A family member converted our old super 8 movies to dvd. It has narration but I just want to pull clips from it to make an iMovie. Is there software available for Mac users. I have iLife, iWork and CS3 installed. I also have a few other programs on my Mac at my work desk including Toast Shake Final Cut. I am new to this process I just don't know what I need to do make this work for me. I am hoping to have this for a surprise party in two weeks. Any Help is greatly appreciated!

Welcome to Apple discussions, fairy dogmother (gotta love that screen name).
The two best applications for exporting clips from VOBs are MPEG Streamclip and Miraizon's Cinematize. The advantage of these is that you can select and export just the parts you want. Toast can do the export and conversion but you can't select anything other than individual chapters or entire movies.
