How can I tell if my full recovery is stalled?

I reformatted my drive and re-installed the system software today around 2 pm. After doing that I connected to my Time Capsule to do a recovery of my old data. It gave me an estimate of 16 hour and 6 minutes on the "Transferring Information" screen.
So here I am 6 hours later. The progress bar has only moved about 1/20 of the way and it is still giving me the 16 hour estimate.
Should I abort? And if so, how do I do that since there is no menu bar or options on this screen? Or should I let it go tonight and see if there is any noticeable progress in the morning?

Doing the backup over wifi - I tried to plug an ethernet cable from computer to Time Capsule, but it didn't find it. It only found the TC over my wireless network.

So - an update on this...
After about 64 hours on the Transferring Information screen (and much hand-wringing on my part), my system restore completed.
I had only chosen to restore my Document/Pictures/Music. Not sure how long it would have taken to restore my Applications folder - probably a lot more time than it would have taken to just re-install all my old software from downloads/disc.
Tried to open up the Migration Assistant to even see if I could recover any of my Apps, but it won't connect to my backup disc now. And when I open Time Machine, I cannot see my backup data anymore. It starts at Today.

    There are no modern day consumer electronics that you can overcharge... they all have protection for this, i.e. they stop charging when full.  This may not be completely true for some really cheap Chinese knock-offs.

    Without cracking it open you really can't. This is a long shot, you could try drying it out. Do not attempt to charge or turn on, leave it off. Place it in a sealed bag of uncooked rice for about a week. change the rice every couple of days. After you dry it attempt to turn it on, you my need to charge it first, about 30 minutes. If it works great, if not you may need to reset or attempt to restore. And it may never work again, but for a couple of dollars of rice its worth trying. If you do get it to work the first thing you want to do is make a full backup to your computer. The thing with water damage is you just don't know how long it will continue to work.  If you go to Apple be prepared to spend some money, water damage is not covered with the standard warranty.     Any non-"n" wireless client (including the 802.11g AirPort Express), connected to a "n" network, will reduce the overall available bandwidth for "n" devices. In addition, to allow these devices to connect, your network must operate on the 2.4 GHz radio ... which has a maximum "n" bandwidth of around 130 Mbps. The 5 GHz, with dual-channel enabled, would provide your "n" clients with 300+ Mbps.

    In the new version of Numbers this option is not available.  You will have to type the file name into the header yourself.  You can post feedback to Apple using the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"
    or use Numbers2.3 which should be in the folder "/Applications/iWork '09" if you previously had it installed

    Does he know any of your AppleIDs and their passwords?  If he knows the AppleID you use to login to iCloud, then he has full access to your iCloud account.  If he knows the AppleID and password you use for iMessage, then he can access your iMessage account.
    If he does not know any of your AppleIDs and passwords, and if he does not have ready full physical access to your iPhone, then it is almost certain that he cannot track you.  If he does have physical access to your iPhone, then all bets are off, as anyone with actual, unlocked physical access to the device can install any sort of software or hack they wish to.

    1st gen - It is white plastic and looks like a USB "thumb drive."  It as a full USB connector on it, so you don't need a cable to connect it to the computer.
    2nd gen - It is a clip-on design.  It has separate switches for setting playback order (shuffle or in order) and for turning ON/OFF.
    3rd gen - It is a narrow clip-on design, with no playback control buttons on the shuffle itself.  You use the "remote control" buttons on the ear buds cord.  It has the new VoiceOver feature.
    4th gen - Apple went back to the 2nd gen style, except smaller.  It has only one switch that is both for setting playback order (shuffle or in order) and turning ON/OFF, plus a small VoiceOver button (for using the VoiceOver feature introduced in 3rd gen)

    From the drop down menu click About This Mac.

    If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.

    I have a number of INSERT statements with /*+ APPEND */ hints, that I suspect are not using direct-path insert processing. How can I tell (via the plan, via Enterprise Manager, whatever) if direct-path is being used?
    If it is not being used, then I can research why that might be, and try to resolve the obstacles there. But if it is being used, then I want to know that so I can focus elsewhere.

    Thanks for that link. When I checked my example again I realised that it had a foreign key constraint between the two tables I was inserting into. (It was a demonstration of how to normalise an incoming denormalised address table, so converted a flat table into address/address lines). When I removed the constraint I got the multi-table insert.
    However, I followed this up with a check on the execution plans and for the 10.2.0.3 I was running noted the following:

    I have never been charged for an app update. Which apps are you being charged to update? There should be no charge for an update.
    If you upgrade the app from a lite version to a full version, there will be a charge for that.

    Isn't it awesome that after you spend 2500$ + on a laptop you need to also become a computer technician in order to keep it working. The fan in my MacBook Pro runs all the time and the computer is also very hot all the time. I always try to make sure it's not sitting on a flat surface that might make it run hotter. I'm running 10.6.8. Is there anything I can do to fix this? When should the fan be running? Should it run when I have more than one program running at a time? Is the MacBook Pro designed to only run one program at time? At the moment I'm watching a show via Firefox. There are no other programs running, the computer is raised off the table, the fan is running at about half the speed it usually does, moments ago the fan was going full bore. Google Browser was open, iTunes was open, text edit was open, but none of them being used - I was using Firefox and watching a movie online with browser window on fullscreen. Anyone got any suggestions? Should I just enroll into a university and begin my studies as computer technician?
