How can I tell if my Premiere Pro project is corrupt?

Hello All
Referring this question I posed to Adobe on Twitter here o the request of Kevin Monahan
The reason I ask the question above is because I am often working away in a project and everything is moving great and then suddenly I get a crash and Premiere Pro dumps me out.  I then go back in and it gives me the message saying that it needs to open a copy of the project I was working on and to give it a new name.  Normally I just add a sequential number and open it up.  Generally this works well as I don't seem to lose much in terms of work but I do seem to suffer as the project becomes slower and unresponsive at times. Often I will click along the timeline only to have to wait for about 5 seconds whilst the appliation/Mac catch up.  Surely this can't be right?
Also, the crashes often happen regularly and tends to be when I add the Multiband Compressor or am selecting ends of clip by holding down cmd whilst selecting clips.  This last project the application crashed about 4 times.
Are the issues I am seeing a result a corrupt project and how would I spot a corrupt project?  Is it generally the case that the bigger the project gets then the slower it will work? I don't think my edits are particularly long winded or complex so I can't understand why I am seeing this instability and poor performance.  I am however running a 2013 MacPro with Dual D700 GPUs so perhaps it is the long standing issue that this machine has been having with Premiere Pro since OS 10.9.3.
If anyone can help then I' be grateful.  I did do a short screen video showing and talking through my problems. I can post if anyone thinks that will help.
Best wishes
Alex

Thanks Winston...
Mid 2010.
Time to return the AppleTV!  Man, frustrating that the checkbox option for mirroring is there in Display Pref's when the model isn't new enough...I understand it's an OS setting, but could easily check the same attribute as displayed in About This Mac and hide that checkbox!!
Oh well
Anyone know the exact/technical reason why Mid 2010 is not compatible and Early 2011 and newer is?  Seems like, again, if the option for mirroring is there in display pref's it should work?

Not sure what you are asking. A download is a download. what you do with the file afterwards is entirely up to you. If you mean to install Mac software on Win, then no, this can't be done. Furthermore you also would have to have a proper Win serial.

  • How can i tell if the macbook pro is of the Highest quality?

My simple question is how can i tell if the macbook pro i intend to buy is of the Highest quality? Its easy with phones thanks to IMEI numbers. • How can I tell if my macbook pro has been restored to factory settings?

I just bought I brand new macbook pro (15,4 inch) from an official apple store... but I'm thinking that it may be used (it was a bit dirty when I opened it, but it has no scratches).
I tried with coconut battery, but it went ok, the battery is new. However they might have changed it.
Is there a way to know if the mac was restored to factory settings?
... if not, is there any other way to know if is a used laptop?
    Thanks,

cycle count says 1... wich correspond to the initial battery discharge I just did. That's why I think they may have changed the battery.
Serial number is C02FHFG0DF8V... how can you tell if this correspond to a refurbished unit?
It has all the "official" envelops of a brand new mac... the thing is that I found small dust specks all over the interior of the box and in the accesories (not on the notebook itself).
According to coconut "Age of your Mac" is 11 weeks.
That's why I thought the only way I could knew for sure if they used it before (maybe for showcasing at the store) was finding out if it was restored to factory settings. (Also I bought it in an official apple store).

  • How can I re-install Adobe Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2?

A friend replaced his Premiere Pro CC 7.2.2 with (2014) and wants to go back to 7.2.2, but can't find anywhere to download it. Any suggestions, guys? Thanks

I might be being an idiot, but I also have problems with CC 2014 and want to reinstall CC 7, but nowhere in the Creative Cloud App can I find the ability to install older versions.
On the Adobe site it shows the ability to install an older version by clicking either the 'more information' or the 'filer & versions' tab, but there are no options to access older builds in the latest Creative Cloud app.

  • How can I tell if my MacBook Pro has a Retina display?

I am happy to say, that I am the PROUD OWNER of a 15" MacBook Pro and I don't know if the one that I have has a Retina display built into it.
I was looking on the forums, to see if I might be able to get away with installing a copy of Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) via USB and I noticed that one of the forums said that you could, if you had a MacBook Pro that has a Retina display built into it.
I would very my like to know if there's a way to find out or if there's a website that I can check out that would be able to guide me in the right direction.
PLEASE HELP...IF I CAN DO IT, IT WOULD SAVE ME A LOT OF MONEY FROM HAVING TO BUY A NEW COPY AND I CAN STILL GET THE DRIVERS FROM THE BOOTCAMP TO PULL IT OFF.

    as per bootcamp:

Yes, your USB will be recognized afterward.

  • How can I tell whether my Mac Pro is using the bluetooth dongle or not?

I got myself a bluetooth dongle to get around the terrible internal BT signal. When it's in use, it alleviates all my troubles and I can actually stroll halfway down the hall and still type accurately.
However, it seems that every time I reboot, it must stop using the dongle and use the internal, because I then get the terrible signal of the internal antenna. The only way to convince my computer to use the dongle, is to unplug and plug it back in. Then I have to delete all my bluetooth devices and pair them again!
So yes, I am seeking a two-part solution.
Firstly, I'd like to know if there's anywhere in System Profiler, BT Preferences, Terminal, etc that will just inform me of WHICH bluetooth my computer is using.
Secondly, I'd ideally want to set it to default to the dongle. If this isn't possible, at least the first part would let me know when I need to arduously re-do my settings.
Thank you very, very much. Usually this isn't that big an issue, as I only rarely need to move my peripherals off my desk, but I got a Magic Mouse earlier this week and its extremely clear it doesn't have as strong an antenna or whatever as the Mighty Mouse, and it starts going erratic if I move it so much as a foot from the Mac Pro tower.

I have the same problem and I cannot find any way to turn off the internal bluetooth without killing all bluetooth including the dongle. If someone has a way to turn off the internal bluetooth I want to see it.
    Thanks

  • How Can I Import CR2 into Premiere Pro CC?

Hi, I have quite a lot of CR2 files that I'd like to import into a Premiere project. It's telling me that the file format is not supported. Is there a good workaround or plug in that anybody could recommend? I'm a little bit of a novice as Premiere is concerned. Any help would be terrific!
    Thank you.

    Welcome to the forum.
Depending on which Canon camera is shooting the CR2's (those change with the model of camera), and depending on the version of the ACR (Adobe Camera RAW) module one has installed, then Photoshop, LightRoom, or Photoshop Elements, should be able to Open the CR2's, and Save_As (either with, or without processing - though I always do some processing). Jim's suggestion for PNG is a good one. In my workflow, I just stick with PSD's, as I often have many different uses for the files, beyond Video.
Now, Adobe updates the ACR modules, with some frequency, so if your specific Canon is not supported with the latest ACR, it soon will be added. Also, at points in the development of the ACR modules, Adobe will no longer be able to write the modules for older versions of Ps, PsE or LR, so one might have to upgrade the host program. An alternative to the Adobe programs would be the Image editor supplied with the Canon camera, as it should be able to Open the CR2 files, and then Save_As, to a format that PrPro can use. There ought to be a program with a name like EOS Utility, on the utility disc, that came with the camera.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
PS - as an interesting sidenote, Premiere Elements does allow for the use of ACR modules, and if those are updated, will allow direct Import of the CR2's, or NEF's (Nikon Camera RAW), or similar - so long as the most recent ACR module includes support for that particular version of Camer RAW.

I have downloaded the file for a trail and it will not upload on my computer.

Your terminology is confusing.  Download and upload refer to moving data between remote and local computers over a network, such as the Internet.  The download part makes sense, but once downloaded, what exactly are you trying to then upload?

Took a look at the Premiere Pro splash screen as the program loads; the version number will be displayed. If you don't catch it there, go Help > About Adobe Premiere Pro. And, if you're running anything other than at least 4.2 (the current version is 4.2.1), you'll want to update by selecting Help > Updates.
