How can I tether my iphone to make the internet work after upgrading from ios6?

I have a iPhone4, I had upgrade to the ios 6. Now I can't tether my phone to use the hotspot, I can use the airport on my MBP to use the internet but it is much slower. My ISP is AT&T. I had contacted them and they told me that they are working on it, I called Apple, and they told me that they are working on it. Anyone else having issue using the hotspot?

    The phone is locked by contract to AT&T.  Therefore the only way of breaking the contract is via AT&T.  You do not have any contract with Apple. Apple has nothing to do with the locking of your phone.

    Our experience is a little different, we have different iTunes accounts for different family members, each family member has their own iTunes library on their own mac, each mac uses my Apple ID for homesharing and we are able to play purchased content from each library on the Apple TV.

    Your phone is in recovery mode. Did you plug it to the computer running itunes? What happend?

    Thanks for replying. The plan you have it would be an additional charge to add the hotspot feature. It's not free with the Nationwide plan. You would need to add the feature online at www.verizonwireless.com/myverizon

    OK, I went to Private Browsing to change Never remember history to choose Use custom settings for history and then clicked on Permanent Private Browsing Mode and clicked on the bottom OK. I then went to my Firefox messages and clicked on that internal-linked multimessage and then clicked on a link. It went there for only 1 second and reverted to the top of the message, not moving on further clicking.
    I then went to tools > options > privacy only to find that the default Never remember history was back in the panel. It wasn't stable at Use custom settings for history. I tried this several times. It always reverts either right away or after that 1-second success. One time it lasted an amazing 3 seconds before reverting to the top of the multimessage e-mail. So THAT failed too.
    OK, so then I went to Internet Explorer and called up that message. Clicked on an internal link and watched it fail for 1 second and then clicked again and it held the message for a long time. It's something in Firefox not Int. Explorer. Please see the image to let you know what I am doing.

    1. App Store>Feature>Apple ID (at bottom of page)
    2. Tap on Apple ID>View Apple ID
    4. Enter your password
    5. Country/Region>Change Country or Region

    It seems that settings of mail accounts have something to do with it. I've delete my gmail account and am now using Microsoft Exchange. It seems better, yet not perfect. The issue is definitely due to OS 4.3.1
    Apple answer is - no answer. It is a shame that the quality of their products, in terms of design and concept, is not match by a care for customers. It is not normal that I, as a customer, have to spend hours reading Apple Discussions forum to try to understand what the problem is. A little more respect for a customer that spend big $$$ buying their products wouldn't hurt.
