I had recently bought iphone 4 from my hard earned money, i have lost it now. though i have put a passcode to the mobile, it wont be of any use to the person who took it and not returning back.
I know apple does not track it, but with special circumstances, they should be able to do it. i have filed a police complaint, but the police in india are not helpful.
I always thought apple is a company where they would really help their customers, it would be a great help from apple or any other professional, if they could help me tracking my iphone.

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone/iPod Touch is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords, especially your Apple ID/iCloud password NOW!
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, and running iOS 7.0, then phone cannot be re-activated or the passcode removed without knowing your Apple iD/Password. It will be nothing but a useless paperweight.
If not running iOS 7.0, the phone can be forced into recovery mode & restored.

My daughter's iPhone 4 is registered on my Verizon account and I am the account manager. When she got it she set it up through her own iTunes account. I have taken her phone from her as punishment and want to access the information on the phone without her knowing. Just so you know, once the code has been put in incorrectly many times, to prevent unauthorized access, the phone will lock itself up and can only be restored by erasing the information and setting the phone back up. If there is a back up on iTunes it will restore everything back to the phone, but keep in mind this will also restore the old lock code used as well. So it's either erase everything and set it up as new, or erase everything and restore with the old lock code.
Being an account manager gives you access to the Verizon Wireless account to make plan changes or upgrade phones, not gain access into information on a device. The information on a device is always considered private and we wouldn't even have access to it in any way, shape, or form.

Is there any way? Call me crazy, but I want GPS and I already have a cellphone that I'm not interested in replacing. The iPhone 3G will be sold at at&t and Apple brick and mortar stores only - at least initially, and activation and signing a two year contract will be required at the store when the iPhone is purchased. The unlimited data plan is not an option and is required.
The iPhone includes what is called A-GPS or assisted GPS.
The iPhone Maps application downloads selected maps from Google, which is downloaded to the iPhone via wi-fi or at&t's cellular network. GPS without having access to maps won't be much good. Some 3rd parties may provide select maps that can be purchased and downloaded to the iPhone via the iTunes App Store for access via GPS if there is no cell phone reception, but this is unknown.

How can I do a hard reset without losing app data?

I have international texting on my phone and it's having an issue sending images to my friends overseas. The words go through but no media.
I have Verizon's More Everything plan and after two days trying to get this sorted on their end, they want me to try a hard reset and test the texting before I restore my backup to see if it's something in the phone.
the last time I had to do this I lost EVERYTHING regarding data in my apps. Some of the apps I have now I cannot afford to lose the info stored in them.
I need to make sure that I can restore safely once we are done with the troubleshooting.
If I have to manually put my items back in, HOW can I do that with the apps I really need the data preserved?
FYI - ALL my settings for iMessage are correct.
My international friends are not using iPhone AND I checked my settings there and they too are correct.
So, before I go and wipe everything out, can someone reassure me with some directions and ease my worries?

My father bought a Macbook Pro 15' retina 8Gb ram 256Gb SSD about 2 months ago.
He set it up, bought many apps and programs but eventually got bored of it and gave it to me.
He is not a Mac enthusiast and thought he should give it a try but he didn't stick to it.
I'm not a Mac enthusiast either, but a good notebook is an ok present so I took it.
I installed some programs and stuff, tried to learn how it works (I have no idea, I was always using windows), and I think I like it.
However, the MacBook has my father's name, my father is the admin, and all the apps programs etc the he and I bought and installed are in his account.
I have his password though. That's how I've been using it the whole time.
How can I change the MacBook to make it "my own"?
I have an apple ID cause I have an iPhone etc but I'm sure just changing that under the admin page won't be enough.
Will I lose the apps my father bought?
Will I have to reinstall all the programs that I installed while I was using the MacBook? For example will photoshop and capture nx be deleted as if I was formatting a pc and I will have to install them again?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
PS. MacBook is now running Mavericks OS X 10.9.4 and I want to upgrade.
But first I want to make myself the "owner" to start getting things in the right order.
