How can I transfer files from iPhoto  on my mac to my iPhone?

Trying to do the reverse of what's normal.  Thx.

Connect your phone to iTunes, go to the Photos tab of you sync settings, check Sync Photos from iPhoto, select which photos you want to sync to your phone, sync.  These photos will appear on your phone it Photo Library (which contains all the actual photos) as well as within the individual folders you chose to sync to your phone (which contain links to selected photos in Photo Library, not duplicate photos).
