How can I transfer multiple songs at once from itunes to device

I was wondering how you can transfer multiple songs or files from itunes to a device, such as an ipod, at once. The past itunes let you do it and I've been trying the same methds that you use on the older versions but nothing is working. Anyone know how to do it?

If syncing, select the content desired to be synced and then sync.
If manually managing content select the content then drag and drop it. Multiple items can be selected by holding the Cntro key and clicking on multiple items.

I just bought a new 4S.  How can I get a song I bought from iTunes into my  Iphone Settings ringtone folder ?

If you bought it, it will stay in your Purchased folder in iTunes.  If it's a song it won't play as a ringtone (they're different), although you can create a ringtone from it (Google "create ringtone in iTunes").

  • How can I browse multiple things at once in iTunes?

I am trying to browse many different versions of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Comparing different composers work in the iTunes store (with a view to buying). In a normal web browser I would open multiple tabs. Is this possible in iTunes? I would like to quickly compare side by side different music. But if I need to go back and click and play and go back (to search results) over and over again, it makes this a tedious process.Surely there's another way?
I have since learned that apparently the iTunes app is a web view? This is interesting considering the rules for submitting apps to the app store disallow apps that are merely web views, but that's  what iTunes is.  Ok, so if that's the case, how can I use iTunes in the manner I've described?
Any ideas how I can achive what I'm after in iTunes for Windows? Thanks for any thoughts.

  • How can I delete multiple photos at once from the official Photos app?

    Dear fellow Apple users,
I have many pictures on my Camera Roll in Apple's Photos app. What's the quickest way to delete multiple photos at once?
Thus far, I know how to delete photos one by one, but that's time-consuming.
    Thank you.

  • How can I modify a song I purchased from Itunes?

I'm trying to alter a song I purchased from the Itunes store. Is there a way to shorten or cut out parts of a song? What software would I need to do this? I've downloaded Jasmine and Audacity, but can't seem to get it to work.

    Thanks Michael,
I did what you suggested and everything worked well. I was able to shorten the song in Jasmine, but once saved, I wasn't able to bring it into my slideshow in Imovie. I believe it was saved as an AIFF file after I shortened it. Any ideas as to why I can't import or open it?

I've recently bought a new Macbook Pro and in my Itunes Library everything I have purchased from Itunes is in my new Itunes Library.
However I want to transfer all my music (not purchased from itunes) from my Ipad/Iphone to my new Itunes Library.... and I have absoutely no idea how to do this? Also I'm scared to press sync when my ipad is plugged into my Mac incase will loose all this music!

The iphone/ipad/ipod is not a backup/storage device.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone/ipad/ipod.
Copy everything from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.

Your i-device was not designed to be a reliable unique storage for your media. It is not a backup device and everything is structured around you maintaining your media on a computer which is itself backed up. Sync transfer is one way, computer to device, matching the device content to the content on the computer. If the computer has nothing on it, the device is set to match the computer's content -- nothing. The exception is purchased content.

For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will probably have to use third party commercial software unless you have an older model iPod. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • I have an older Ipod shuffle with many songs loaded on it. How can I transfer these songs to a new computer since the old computer is no longer available

I have an oder Ipod shuffle with many songs loaded on it. How can I transfer ths songs to a new computer since the old computer is no longer available?

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

Right click on your device in the device list and choose "transfer purchses" to copy all music bought in iTunes to your new iTunes library.
For all other media you'll have to use 3rd party software, examples are mentioned in this thread:

If you haven't already done so then download and install iTunes : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Add the songs into your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library
Connect the iPad to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes, and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Music - if you select that tab you can then select which of your iTunes music to sync to the iPad (it should sync to the Music app on the iPad).
