How can i transfer my tunes to my pc?

I can't transfer my tunes to my pc. Why?

If you copy the entire iTunes folder to the new computer (with iTunes not running) you don't need to readd anything. The content will be there when you launch iTunes on the new computer.

You can't sync across accounts, so:
In Contacts select all the contacts (1 account at a time) and choose File>Export>vCard),
then on your wifes Air do the reverse, select File>Import.

I misread your post.  You can't transfer items to iTunes without connection to your computer.  To transfer without synching, make sure you don't have your preferences in iTunes set to automatically synch.  Then when you connect your phone but before you synch, in iTunes File>Transfer purchases.  Note that only iTunes purchased media can be transferred this way.

Copy the whole iTunes folder from the My Music directory to the Music folder in the Home directory on the Mac.
The easiest way to do this is to create another user with the second library.
If you want both libraries on the same user account then you will need to choose which library iTunes opens everytime you launch (hold down the OPTION key while launching) it as itunes can only read one library at a time. If you do not choose on launch it will open the last library it was connected to. You will also need to rename the iTunes folder when you move it (eg: iTunes2) because your husband's library will already be in the Music directory in a folder named iTunes.
You can also leave your library on the PC and turn on Home Sharing. As long as you leave the PC running with iTunes open, you will be able to access it from any Mac, Apple TV or iOS devices on the network that is signed in to Home Sharing with the same  Apple ID.

    Hello, Ray.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
There are a couple options available to you to transfer purchased media to your computer.  Below, I have included a couple articles that outline this process.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your iPod to the iTunes library.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If you still have access to your old computer, see the steps in the article below.

  • How can i transfer a movie bought in tunes throught my ipod touch, to my ..

how can i transfer a movie bought in tunes throught my ipod touch, to my usb flash so i can watch on my dvd player using the usb plug?
    can i do it?

A movie purchased from iTunes can only be played on iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs and authorized computers. Even if you transferred the movie to a flash drive, it wouldn't play on your DVD player.

  • Hi when I import files to my I Tunes they always go into playlistds, how can I stop this and how can I transfer them to my library?

how can I stop my imported music from going into playlists? and how can I transfer playlists to my library?

Imported files will go into any smart playlists that they qualify for. If new playlists are being created as you import folders then the folders contain m3u playolist files made by another application and iTunes is importing those too. You can search for and delete these before import, use http://albumbrowser.klarita.net/itfw.html instead of iTunes' Files > Add folder or use my script KillTopLevelPlaylists after the import.

  • HT1589 how can i transfer my library to a new computer? old computer is not working

how can i transfer my i-tunes library to a new computer? my old computer is not working.

It has alwasy been very basic to always maintain a backup copy.  Have you failed to do this?  not good.
You would have to take the hard drive out of your old computer and connect it to your new and transfer the info.

How can i transfer all my stuff to i tunes in my new computer?
(will all stuff be removed in my iphone if i just sync it with the new downloaded i tunes?)

No, as long as the iTunes ID you use is the same one as on your iPhone and your old computer.
But it goes without saying you should make a backup first.

  • How can i transfer a movie into my ipad from a different computer?

I had the original ipad. I download a digital copy of a movie into my personal laptop however all movies are downloaded originally from my wife's Macintosh. When I plug in the ipad into my Sony laptop, it states 'all movies will be lost" if I place the movie from a different computer. How can I transfer the movie into my ipad?

Put the movie onto whatever computer you use to sync.  Move the movie into i tunes, and sync.

If you are talking about an iTunes or Apple ID account, you cannot transfer from one account to another.
If you have problems with it try contacting the store support staff at http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html

  • How can I transfer music back from iPod to MacBook and iMac after a MacBook

My MacBook Pro (2 years old) recently suffered a harddrive failure. I had all my music on this computer and of course on my iPod 80GB. Now I have a new drive in the MacBook with no music and all the music on the iPod. How can I transfer the music back from the iPod to the MacBook? I also have an iMac and would like to doubly back up my music on this unit (in case - or rather "when" there is another drive failure). Connecting the iPod doesn't work as it just asks me to erase and resync. There HAS to be some way around this, I couldn't possibly be the only person in the world with a drive failure!

1). Connect your iPod to your computer. If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod.
2). When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use your iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
3). Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. If you only want to copy your purchases to the computer that can be done using iTunes, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (including purchases) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here (you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well):

TuneAid Mac only (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)

iRepo Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
iPod Access Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
TouchCopy Mac & Windows (iPhone and iPod Touch compatible)
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
4). Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync.
5). I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

How can I transfer music from my ipod classic 60GB to my iPhone 4 music library, just by song or whole CD that I have bought? Help needed!

load the current version of I tunes on the laptop and sync the pod.  Then sync the phone - you can select all or as much of the music you want to.
Also - if the music on the pod was purchased from the itune store in the first place, you should be able to redownload it to the phone for free, as long as you are using the same apple id that it was bought with.
