How can I keep mail.app from capitalizing the first letter of sentences? I have turned off auto-correct both at the system level and in Mail, and yet I cannot seem to keep Mail from capitalizing the first letter?

Thanks - this helped me track it down - some Textexpander setting apparently got switched when I updated.

It sounds like you no longer have your phone but need to unlink your phone number from the iMessages service. According to this article, this is what you do:
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage

Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

Trying to turn off auto-renew for The Guardian. From PC.
I did the following:
1. Launch iTunes on your computer
2. Choose Store>Sign In from the iTunes menu.
3. Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
4. Choose Store>View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password. Click
View Account. (I chose "iTunes Store", in the side bar, since the word "Store" in the menu bar didn't list "My Account". Then I chose "Account" in Quick Links, on the right-hand side of the screen. I got the "Account Information" ok.)
5. From the Account Information screen, scroll to the bottomof the page to the Settings section.
Then it said to: 6. Click "Manage" to the right of "Subscriptions".
The word "Subscriptions" does not appear in the Settings section. Nothing in the Settings section takes me to a page on which to manage my subscriptions.

Today my computer informed me it was going to perform an update and restart my computer. This is a first for me with Apple products.
Does anyone know how to turn off auto-update? When installing the software i ticked the box that disallowed auto-update but i must have missed doing it some other place in the upgrade process.

How do I turn off Auto Play for Audible Downloads?

Ok so this is ticking me off....How do I turn off the Auto Play when downloading Auduible books. It downloads to my download folder and then just startes playing in iTunes. This annoys the heck out of me and I really want it to stop doing it. Es[ecially today since I had to rebuild my iTunes library and I would reather listen to music than a new audio book intro every couple of minutes.....

I have found that using the Sleep Timer option that is in the bottom right corner of the app will stop playing the episodes continuously and not move on to the next one once the current episode ends.

How can i turn off internet access for itunes

Every time i turn on itunes it asks for my internet username and password. If I cancel the request it pops up again after a few seconds and will continue to pop up, even if I put my name and password in.

I have a disability in my left hand so i am not as quick on the key strokes. This delay causes the letter to switch to a capital. How do I turn this off?

If you mean the auto capitalization from a long key press, that is not customizeable... it is there.
Otherwise, there is this:
Check main Settings (swipe down from the top bezel)
Tap on Language and Input
Tap on Prediction and Correction
Tap on AutoCapitalize. That will turn off the auto-capitalization after a period.
