How Can I Turn Off Calendar Notifications

We have a receptionist who schedules a meeting on the Executive's Calendar, then invites other employees. The Executive does not want to receive any notifications of any kind about appointments made on the calendar. Is there some way to turn all notifications
off for them?

It'll work, but it will turn off all reminders - if he wants to set reminders on tasks or flag email, those reminders won't work. It would probably be better to turn off default appointment reminders in File, Options, Calendar so they aren't added.

  • Can't turn off calendar notifications on shared calendar

    Hello,
Since Yosemite I can't turn off calendar notifications on shared calendar.
The notifications are turned off on calendar.
The notification are turn off on the Google calendar settings.
    Am I missing something?
    Best,
    g.

    Hi gregorytrow,
There's a shared calendar messages preference in Calendar preferences you may want to change.
Calendar: If you’re not receiving alerts
Choose Calendar > Preferences, click Alerts, and then deselect the “Turn off shared calendar messages in Notification Center” and “Turn off invitation messages in Notification Center” checkboxes.
    Take care,
    Nubz

  • How can I turn off Calendar text reminder

I keep receiving Calendar "text" reminders, in addition to Notification Reminders. It's ANNOYING because I already choose which events I want a notification for, within the New Event "form" each-time I create a new event. I can choose to be alerted 5min, 1hr, 2days before the Event ...or I can choose "none"....... However, even if I choose "none" I keep getting incoming text reminders to my text messages, in addition to a screen Notification (which I prefer).  No matter what, I will get a text reminder.    I put on my calendar; Tuesday 28th/4pm/Portland trip/no alerts... just so I know not to schedule anything else that day, not because I need a remindeder. So it obeys me and doest send the Notification pop-up, but while I'm driving to Portland an incoming text comes in at 4pm to remind me OF WHAT I'M ALREADY DOING. How can I make these dual reminders stop? I will gladly choose one or the other....either a Text or a Screen Notification.   Any help you can offer would be great. Thank you!

Are you perhaps using Google Calendar as your main calendar service? There is an option in Google Calendar to have text alerts sent to your phone for events. Log into Google Calendar on your computer and disable that feature.
If you're using a different calendar service, see if they have a similar set up.

  • How can i turn off gamecentre notification?

Every time i try to open a game i keep getting all these game centre achievement notifications?
I know from other threads people have said signout of game centre. I believe i have done this, and also turned off notifications but it still appears every time i open the game (Rugby nation 13)
    Please help!

There's no way to disable that. Just don't turn off WiFi. Leaving it on when you're not connected to a WiFi network doesn't use that much power and, well, it helps improve the accuracy of your location services.

  • How can one turn off the notifications in FF 22 (e.g. when you get an email on gmail) so that it doesn't override things like Growl?

    Hi,
I'd like to find a way to disable the notifications on Firefox 22.0 (I'm running it on a MacBook Pro with OS X 10.7.5), especially when receiving emails on my gmail account. I used to use Growl (1.2.2; as far as I understood, newer releases have significant issues) for that kind of stuff and it was way better: it looked better and, most importantly, it could be seen from any desktop, i.e. not only on the Firefox window itself. But now it's overridden by Firefox and I found no way to avoid it...
    Cheers

OK. Indeed, the notification itself seems to be coming from the add-on that checks my gmail accounts (gmail checker, which was recently updated), in the sense that if I disable "Show notification popup" in its preferences, I get no notification. The thing is I still have no notification from Growl. I should also say that this option was normally enabled.
But something is weird though: I reverted to an older version of the add-on and it changed nothing. Furthermore, the notification that pops up when I receive an email looks exactly the same as the ones you get when a download is complete. Finally, as far as I can tell, the change in behaviour of all this happened when updating Firefox. And if I come back to FF 20.0.1 (chosen quite arbitrarily), I get the things the work the way it did...
All this makes me think that, although the notification comes from the add-on, there is something to understand in the way it interacts with Firefox. Is there a way to tell Firefox to stop showing notifications of any kind (either for download completion or coming for add-ons)?
    Thanks for the help!
I'll also try to see if it's something that the developers of the add-on are familiar with.

  • How can I turn off upgrade/update to Yosemite?

Having tried the Yosemite Beta, I've decided to stay with Mavericks for a while. How can I turn off the notification / blandishment / request asking me to  upgrade / update to Yosemite so I don't inadvertently wipe out the hours & hours of effort it's taken me to revert to Mavericks on my MacBook Pro?
I'm not opposed to going to Yosemite, but I need to be able to afford to upgrade from 2Gb RAM in this old MacBook Pro before it will make any sense.

In your Adobe Application Manager you have something like this:
Remove the tick marks (I believe you guys call it check marks) against the product for which you don't need updates.  See the red boxed item.  Also make sure the right side has the two ticks as shown because that is always required.

  • Remove age from birthday notification: I don't know the years most of my contacts were born, so I keep getting a default year 2000 birthdate. How can I turn off the age (xxth birthday) in Birthday Calendar - it really is very annoying!

Where do you see the default birthday showing as Nov. 30? If you can explain that, I can probably modify the below script to do that clean up.
In response to the original problem:
I'm not sure why I missed the original reply, but here is an Applescript that will change all the years of any selected contacts to 1604 (default for no year).
    tell application "Contacts"
              set thePeople to selection
              repeat with aPerson in thePeople
set theDate to birth date of aPerson
if theDate is not missing value then
set the year of theDate to 1604
set birth date of aPerson to theDate
                        end if
              end repeat
    end tell
copy and paste it into a new Applescript Editor document. Select all the contacts you want to change (in Contacts), then run this script by clicking on the green Run button in Applescript Editor.

  • How can you turn off notifications for app store?

Each time I  go to a forum site, it tells me there is an app for Tapatalk for the site to chat with.  If I click on cancel, it continues to pop up each time I try to respond on the forum.  If I click on OK, it takes me to the app store to buy the app for Tapatalk, which I do not want.  How do I turn off this notification that keeps popping up?  I do not see anyway to do this in the settings.

I hate that too.   What you are seeing is a 'feature' of the forum's website.   They want you to down load their app.  It's not coming from apple, but the website.

Go to Settings>Messages and choose "No" under "Show Preview" which will hide the text part of the SMS/text message but still will pop up on who its from and just says "text message" on it.
Other than this there is not a complete way to disable the notification.

  • How can i turn off automatic printing on my ipad mini

how can i turn off automatic printing on my ipad mini. every day My printer prints out a weekly calendar at the same time. How can I stop or disable this. Thanks

The complete backup and restore procedure is explained in the link above.
If you don't want to do a restore, then your iPad may remain in the unstable state you have for the moment.
You can change the country in the App Store. Have a look at the bottom of the App Store screen, you can change the country and also do the permanent change via Manage > Account.
You can change the language in iTunes via General Preferences > under General tab.
