How can i turn off internet access for itunes

Every time i turn on itunes it asks for my internet username and password. If I cancel the request it pops up again after a few seconds and will continue to pop up, even if I put my name and password in.
This becomes very frustrating when I don't want to use the internet or I don't have a connection. How can I turn this off?

It sounds like you no longer have your phone but need to unlink your phone number from the iMessages service. According to this article, this is what you do:
iOS and OS X: Link your phone number and Apple ID for use with FaceTime and iMessage

Note: If you no longer have access to the iPhone that is using the number you want to remove, reset your Apple ID password.

Settings>General>Passcode Lock...enter your passcode, then: Turn Passcode Off.

To turn off Auto-Renew for iTunes Match from a computer
Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password and click Sign In.
Choose Store > View My Account. You may be asked to re-enter your Apple ID password.
In the "iTunes in the Cloud" section, click Turn Off Auto-Renew to the right of iTunes Match.
To turn off Auto-Renew for iTunes Match from an iOS device using iOS 7.1 or later
Choose Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
If you're not already signed in with your Apple ID, tap the Apple ID field, enter your username and password, and tap >Done on the onscreen keyboard.
Tap your Apple ID name and choose View Apple ID.

The cache is likely turned off, but you can't tell because you are using the same transactional EntityManager instance for the two queries. The EntityManager requires its own cache for object identity and transactional purposes, as once you read an object in through the EM, the spec requires that all subsequent reads return the same instance. Only the EntityManager refresh will cause a refresh, that or setting your queries to use the toplink.refresh and toplink.cache-usage query hints.
I would strongly recommend you use a query cache for performance, but there are of course reasons why one might not be the best option.

The editing feature is annoying because when I read pdfs, I select randomly with mouse on the file, which creates "editing behavior". What' s more annoying is it saves to the pdf file directly without asking me, which causes sync services like dropbox to sync the file, generating unnecessary traffic and disk usage. I never need to edit pdf files. Please give me an option to disable the feature permanently.

ok after another hour of playing around i might have half solved this...I turned match off via my account within the store which didn't seem to work properly, but then found another option to "turn off" via the store dropdown in the menu bar which does seem to have worked on my mac (but not yet on my iphone so still need to figure this out). Now I have turned it off on my mac it seems to offer me the option to buy it again - but as i've already paid for the year I don't know if there is the option to turn on again if I choose to later?

Try this: Locate this file: com.apple.universalaccess.plist
It's here: MacintoshHD/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences
Open the Preferences folder. Locate that file and drag it to the Trash. Empty the Trash and reboot. Your MBP will create a new preference file for you.
Sometimes preference files can become corrupted... hopefully this will take care of it.

From your phone, settings> music> iTunes match> off.
However rather than turning iTunes match off you may wish to turn show all music off, which only shows the tunes which are currently downloaded to your phone. (Settings> music> show all music> off)

I think this is a simple problem but I can't find a solution! I want to receive an alert (either vibration or sound, depending on the position of the silence switch) when I get a new txt. Latest update on 'Network Lost' Message. I have tried all the suggestions, ie, Setting my carrier to Automatic and resetting my Network settings but nothing works. I had a long conversation with someone at Apple this morning and he said there was no way to stop this from happening. Gutted! My husband and I went through the settings on both our iPhones earlier and discovered that he has a different software version to mine, He hasn't updated his and he never gets the message. Now I am wondering if it's possible to go back to an earlier version and if so how? Can anyone tell me please?
